Till the day he accepts her invitation of war, she will wait.
"Do your worst, Jaejoong. You may not know it, but there is no other place I would rather be than here with you now... in this time... in this space. I love you, and at the same time, hate you... with the intensity of a thousand suns."
Unspoken words.
The loud pulses in her ear, the sun on her skin... they tell her that life goes on, regardless. She does not fear death. Only hesitant by the thought of being forgotten. She knows she must over come it if she wishes to fulfill her sister's wish and spare him this life.
Soon.

The receptionist does not look up from her paperwork... she dares not. "The Doctor will see you now, Cyndi Wang Xinling." The sudden rise in temperature tells her the woman draws near. Maybe too near.
"Thank you."
The air inside the waiting room is like that of a sauna. Waves after waves of dry, unbearable heat. Is this what hell feels like?
Xinling makes her way to the door. It opens at her approach.
"Ah, Cyndi. Please... have a seat." A voice, scratchy with age, welcomes her. "I have received reports on countless occasions concerning your irregular sleeping patterns. Shall we address the issue?"
"If you so wish it, Doctor." She takes a seat in the recliner opposite of him. The heat from her body triggers the switch. Webs of solid liquid begin to form from the back. Like cancerous cells, it grows rapidly to encompass her entire body. Thin, filaments penetrate broken skin, sinking deep into her open nerves.
To bind a mind that cannot be bound.
"Have you been unable to sleep?"
"I have no need for sleep." The cocoon cage glows faintly as she speaks.
"You are scheduled for the next departure, hence I will be blunt, Cyndi. You are hiding secrets from the rest of the world. It may as well be the root of all your problems. Your ability to sleep is not the main concern. I need to know the truth. Will this disturbance affect your performance out in the field?"
"No. You need not worry about it." Her eyes intensify as she makes eye contact.
He returns her glare with a tinge of annoyance. Her vitals show no change and he is forced to believe her. "Since time is a factor, Cyndi, I will now proceed with the Alignment Test. May I?" Not giving her a chance to respond, he closes the file on his desk and begins the session to test her moral senses.
If you could save five others instead of him, would you, Xinling baby?
No.
Ten others.
No.
Twenty others.
No.
A Hundred others.
No. I would rather save that one person.
Why?
I could care less about the others.
Your true feelings... you must never tell another soul. They will not understand you like I do. Promise me that your choice will not change.
It is my one choice, sister. You have my word.
"Here is the first question, Cyndi. If you had to make the choice again... would you sacrifice your sister to save those twenty-six people?"
"Yes." It will always be yes.
