Who Said Nerds Can't Be Cute? ~ Park Jimin

Description

A nerdy Jimin imagine! Pretty much him being really shy, awkward and cute!~

Foreword

Park Jimin. The average nerd, quiet, reserved, usually buried in a book and of course what kind of nerd would he be without his signature glasses? Sure, tons of people ignored him because of the fact that he was classified as a nerd, but you couldn’t take your eyes off of him. There was something about him that drew you to him, he wasn’t like most of the people you’ve met. He was special.

One day in English class some of the school bullies had stolen Jimin’s spot and considering he hated any type of conflict, he tried to find somewhere else to sit. The two of you made eye contact and you smiled at him, motioning to the empty seat next to you. He quickly looked down at the floor and sat down.

“Hey Jimin. I don’t think we’ve ever properly met. I’m (Y/N).” You smiled at him, yet he still avoided your gaze. He blushed and adjusted his glasses. “You know my name?”

“Yeah of course I know your name, we’ve been in a lot of the same classes for the past few years.” You looked away from him to see that the teacher had walked in and had attempted to silence the class. From the corner of your eye you could tell he was looking at you. You smiled to yourself and leaned over towards his desk, just enough that you’d be able to whisper and he could still hear you. “By the way, you can sit here any time. Considering those douche bags stole your spot.”

“N-no I don’t want to be a bother.” He stuttered, looking at his desk and blushing again. You giggled at how cute he was. “There’s no way you’d ever be a bother, trust me.”

After what felt like forever, class finally came to an end and lunch began. The entire class ran out of there like their asses were on fire, whilst Jimin calmly took his things and started walking out of the room. “Wait. Jimin?” You called after him.

“Y-yeah (Y/N)?” He fidgeted and held onto his books tightly. You smiled and walked up to him. “I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch together.”

“Oh. R-really?” Jimin’s eyes went wide and he dropped his books on the floor. “Oh my god I’m so stupid.”

“Hey, accidents happen. Just because you dropped some stuff doesn’t make you stupid. I’m even worse than you are, trust me.” You bent down and started helping him grab his books.

“No seriously, I can handle this. I’m fine by myself.” Jimin tried to take a book out of your hand but accidentally grabbed your wrist instead. He retracted quickly and looked away from you, blushing furiously. You giggled and moved to make him look at you. “Why are you so nervous around me?”

“Well I’m so used to being alone and no pretty girls have ever talked to me before.” He grabbed the rest of his books in his arms and gripped them tightly, both of you standing up.

“Wait. You think I’m pretty?” You asked happily, grinning like an idiot. Jimin realized what he had said and looked around the room in an attempt to avoid looking at you. “Well, uh, yeah. You’re the prettiest girl in the entire school.”

“Oh come on, no I’m not.” You chuckled. Jimin finally gathered the courage to look you in the eyes and the look he gave you was unlike his usual self. It seemed much more serious and not even the slightest bit shy or afraid. “I’m serious (Y/N). You are. You’re every guys dream girl. You’re beautiful, hilarious, fun to be around. The list could honestly go on forever with all the nice things I could say about you, but I doubt you’d want to hear all of those things from a loser like me.”

“You aren’t a loser! Don’t think that about yourself. Sure, you usually hang out by yourself but to be entirely honest, most people in this school are morons anyway. They all have their own personal cliques and they’re so obsessed with themselves that it’s actually pretty sad. I find it amazing how you’re totally okay with being yourself. You don’t really dress like everyone else, you have your own style. I like it.” You looked at him brightly and he was shocked for a moment before looking back at you with a smile.

“So you like my style?” He looked at you with an eyebrow raised and his lips. Your heart stopped for a second and you felt like you were going to die. How could such subtle things and have such a massive effect on you?

“Yeah I do. I also like how you look with your glasses. They really suit you. I don’t know, you’re just really cute.” You lifted your hand slowly and tucked a stray hair behind Jimin’s ear. He absent mindedly leaned into your touch, almost like he didn’t want you to take your hand away.

“You think I’m cute? Me? Park Jimin? Of all people?” He stammered, clearly confused by your statement. You moved your hand to the back of his head and started playing with his hair. “Yeah. You’re really cute. To be entirely honest I’ve always had a thing for you.”

“You’re serious? This isn’t some joke?” Jimin asked quickly. You giggled. “I’m serious. I’m one hundred percent serious. I promise.”

“To be completely honest, I’ve always had a thing for you too. But I was always too shy to ever say anything. The fear of rejection kept me from even trying to talk to you.” Jimin was very clearly breaking out of his shell just by talking to you and this new side of him was something you were beginning to like very quickly.

“Well since I know you like me and you know I like you, is there anything you’d like to do about that?” You smirked up at him. To your surprise, he didn’t look shocked at all. He gave you a half smile and did something you would’ve never expected.

    He kissed you.

“Oh my god. I’m so sorry (Y/N).” Jimin quickly pulled away, but with your hand still on the back of his head you pulled him back down, just until your lips were centimetres apart. “It’s alright Jimin. If you want to kiss me, then do it.”

And with that, he threw his books across the room and wrapped both of his surprisingly strong arms around your waist, pulling you tight to his muscular body. “I really do want to kiss you. And since I’m suddenly feeling courageous, I’d like to ask you on a date for this Friday. What do you say?”

“I’d love to, Jimin.” He smiled down at you and brought his plush lips to yours. You wrapped your other hand around the back of his neck and after a few moments you both pulled away, grinning like idiots.

“I've waited too long to do that.” Jimin sighed pleased.

"Well why not do it again?“
