Chap 16
Broken and Mended
----TaeSooYulSic’s apartment----
Flipping shut her phone, Yuri turned to the girls whose eyes were glued to the TV.
“I just got a text message from Amber. Nicole met a minor accident while on the mission. But before you guys come hammering me with questions, Nicole is in a stable condition now. Amber will update us more tomorrow.” Yuri announced.
Immediately, all three girls’ eyes switched from TV to Yuri with a shocked expression.
“Seriously??? Nicole’s like the best of the best among us.” Sooyoung replied with disbelief.
“Yea. I think I better hit the training grounds tomorrow.” Jessica joined in with a disbelief look as well. Yuri snorted at Jessica’s reply which earned a cold glare from Jessica.
“There’s always a first time for everything.” Taeyeon calmly replied. “Besides, what’s more important is that she’s safe now.” Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
“Yuri, could you join me in the training grounds tomorrow?” Jessica asked sweetly.
Sighing, Yuri nodded her head. She remembered the last time she rejected the Ice Princess, she was being ignored and kicked out of the room for a week and she had to sleep in the couch, earning her backaches. (A/N: Yuri and Jessica shared a room, whilst Sooyoung and Taeyeon had a room to themselves each.)
“You guys have fun then. I’m only returning work 2 days later.” Taeyeon smiled at YulSic.
“By the way, have you girls heard that there’ll be 2 new agents joining us tomorrow?” Sooyoung asked.
“Really???!” All three of them exclaimed in excitement.
“Uhuh. I heard from Narsha just this morning. Her news are always accurate. I wonder what kind of specialty they are expert in.. Oh oh! We could throw them a welcome party!! Maybe after Tae is back to work!” Sooyoung beamed.
All three rolled their eyes. Sooyoung’s conversations never failed to include food.
“So what do you all say???” Sooyoung yelled excitedly.
“Sure.” Yuri answered.
“Alright!!! I’ll make the arrangements!” Sooyoung couldn’t help but smiled from ear to ear as she dashed into her room for the food magazine she bought this month.
“Ain’t you girls curious why Mr Min suddenly introduces 2 more agents? The amount of missions we received are manageable. Why the need for additional manpower?” Taeyeon asked.
“You’re right… This reminds me of a rumor I’ve heard just days ago. Someone said that within the Government organization, a group of powerful higher ups are conducting some research behind the president’s back. And this group somehow has connections with the infamous terrorist group called Bellona.” Yuri replied.
“As in the Bellona group which was responsible for numerous massacres across the globe and the involvement in nuclear war between Russia and America?” Jessica asked with wide eyed.
Yuri nodded her head. “Anyhow, we wouldn’t know if the rumor is true or not. But if it is, we’ll find ourselves getting involved in more dangerous and life-threatening missions in the coming months.” Yuri couldn’t help but cast a worried look at Jessica.
She knew Jessica’s weakness was her combat skills. Sure she was good, good enough to be an agent but not the best like the rest.
Suddenly, Yuri turned to Jessica with a serious face. “Sica, let’s practice at the training grounds at least twice a week, starting from tomorrow. We need to get prepare incase of events like this. It’ll also help us react better together since we’re partners.”
Jessica nodded her head in approval.
“Okay, come on now. We need to get some sleep for tomorrow then.” Yuri dragged Jessica towards the bedroom.
----Amber’s mansion----
----Amber’s POV----
After parking my convertible in the garage, I carried the unconscious girl towards my bedroom.
On my way, I took a few looks at her. Her face was pale and her lips cracked. I am guessing that she wasn’t feed properly and was probably dehydrated. She looked Korean, probably younger than me. Another thing that I couldn’t help but noticed was that even with all the dirt and dried blood stain, she still looked damn attractive..
“Amber, you better not be thinking of something hanky panky!” Sub-Amber shouted.
Pushing that thought behind my head, I realized I couldn’t just lay the girl onto my bed. She’s too dirty!! And I’m a clean freak especially when it comes to my bed. But I can’t just put her onto the small couch. It’s too uncomfortable. There weren’t any other beds in my house except for Nicole’s. And I’m positively sure Nicole will jump up the roof if I lay the girl down like this.
Well.. if I can’t lay her down like this, I’ll need to do something to her.
“Bathe her?” Sub-Amber suggested.
“OMO… bathe.. her??” my eyes widen at that suggestion.
“Unless you wanna wrap her up like a mummy before dumping her onto the bed?” I could feel sub-Amber rolled her eyes at me.
I was contemplating on whether to help bathe her or to just wrap her up. I paced left and right while biting my fingernails, thinking hard.
Isn’t it wrong to bathe her without her permission?
“That’s if you have evil thoughts lingering on your mind.” Sub-Amber replied.
But wrapping her up isn’t too bad right?
“Seriously?! I rather you put her on the couch then..”Sub-Amber answered, clearly annoyed by my indecisiveness.
---- 10 minutes later----
After laying 2 big towels on my bed and placing the girl on top, I came back from the bathroom with a pail of warm water and a small towel.
I just couldn’t do something like bathing her when she was unconscious. It’s feel like I am taking advantage of her. That’s was when I came up with this brilliant idea. *smile*
I began to wipe her face gently with the damp cloth.
“Damn it. What did this bastard Kim Shin Mo do to her?” I muttered out loud as I wiped a dry blood stain off near the girl’s mouth.
As I cleaned further on her arms and legs, I noticed there were several faint scars and nearly healed wounds.
My anger was clearly rising up as thoughts of this girl being beaten flashed through my mind.
I flipped the girl over her stomach and unzipped her dress to clean her back.
I clearly wasn’t prepared to see what I saw next.
There, on her back were covered with more scars and wounds. Hell, I couldn’t even see a proper patch of good skin left.
“What the fuck did they actually DID to you?!” I couldn’t contain my anger anymore as I hissed out loud.
How could anyone just torture and beat this innocent girl up like this???
Zipping the dress back, I gently flipped her back.
I couldn’t help but felt sorry for this girl… such innocent and attractive girl had to go through god-knows-what torture so many times. Those scars don’t look like a one-time thing to me. I can only imagine the number of times these beatings took place.
It’s a good thing I rescued her from that sick bastard.
“Don’t worry.. you’re safe now.. I won’t let him get his hands on you again.” I whispered to her as I ran my hands through her entangled hair.
I decided to do a small investigation in this once I go back to work at Inton tomorrow. If Shin Mo has more than a girl under his hands for torture, I’m making sure I am putting a stop to this and sent him a trip to hell!
“You mean what you said?” a weak voice startled me and I jumped away from the bed and tripped over the pail and fell down.
“Owwww..” I rubbed my ass as I sat up. The dirty water from the pail had splashed all over me.
“Are you okay?” the weak voice spoke again.
I looked up and saw the unconscious girl had woken up. I got up and smiled at her.
“Yea. I’m fine. Are you hungry?” I asked as I made my way back to the bed, ignoring the fact that I was dripping wet.
The girl nodded her head.
“What do you want to eat? I can make you porridge.”
The girl shook her head.
“I want blood.”
