HERE IT IS! this chapter is dedicated to aaaaal the people who hated my guts after last chapters ending ._. Also not proof read, might be mistakes here and there... But I finished it!! Finally! Yay ^_^

Hoseok was never the romantic type. Nor was he ever lonely. He was fine either way, being with others or alone, he was a laidback person and he generally just enjoyed his life. His friends often referred to him as sunshine, because he was all smiles and happiness. Though they also did it to spite him because they were jerks like that. Hoseok never really minded though. He wasn't like Namjoon, he didn't flare up to defend his honor, or Yoongi, who just got grumpy and silent when they . No, Hoseok just joked along, saying they would be eclipsed without him and faking tears.

Hoseok wasn't keen on responsibilities either. He much preferred to let others deal with difficult questions, while he contributed with the celebration afterwards. That's also why the thought of a mate kind of scared him. Someone depending on him? Someone he had to take care of and whom all of his decisions would affect? No thanks. Even though his alpha instincts told him to protect the people he cared about, he could easily do that physically, hell he was one of the best fighters in their region and he had quite the reputation already before he, Namjoon and Yoongi left their old pack. Because of this, his bubbly and fun personality often surprised people when they actually met him, and he just explained that love for fighting was the only side of his alpha wolf that showed.

When Taehyung joined their new pack, the others thought for sure he and Hoseok would mate, but it never even crossed Hoseok's mind. Tae was just another bro, and he was someone who finally shared Hoseok's humor. They had a blast pranking the others and neither of them wanted more. When Jungkook showed up Hoseok wasn't as surprised, and aside from spending less time with Taehyung, not much changed.

The first time Hoseok ever really felt lonely was the night after Namjoon and Jin finally made up. It wasn't like he didn't like them, hell he adored both Jimin and Jin, and food had never been better in the camp, but... Walking around with the three couples, watching their happiness got him thinking, and he began to realize why having a mate might not be so bad after all.

He didn't mind too much, it wasn't like they completely froze him out and he just started spending more and more time alone in the woods, hunting and patrolling and just wondering around. He never really figured out if he liked it or not, but he spend a lot of time convincing himself that he didn't care.

Faith obviously did care as it was on one of these runs he heard a high pitched howl that definitely wasn't one of joy. He took off immediately, running towards the noise, thoughts of Jin or Jimin being hurt running through his mind, as it clearly sounded like an omega in danger. When he got closer he distinctly heard whimpering and growling and something wrong was definitely going on, the smell of at least two unfamiliar alphas hit his nose. Bursting through the trees he saw the two alphas cornering an omega, trying to hold her still as she was struggling like mad to get away. Hoseok saw red.

He pounced on the alpha that was practically lying on top of the omega and bit his side so hard he could have ripped his stomach out if he wanted to. The two wolves had been so preoccupied with their struggling pray that they hadn't noticed him approaching, and this, combined with his way superior strength and skill had them fearing for their lives. The second wolf tried to help his buddy, but Hoseok turned and bit his leg so fast he didn't have a chance. Hoseok swiftly switched between the two, leading them away from the cowering omega and sending them fleeting in the opposite direction. He followed them a little to make sure they wouldn't return, feeling the adrenaline and thirst for blood pumping through his veins. If it hadn't been for the hurt omega he would have probably followed them and made sure they remembered him...

But his human senses took over and he returned to the omega lying in the grass at the foot of a tree. Hoseok had to stop in his tracks. The omega had returned to her human form and she was, without a doubt, the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his life. Even though she was covered in scratches and blood, there was something about her, something wild, and Hoseok found himself wanting to know more, wanting to know her. But, it was probably just the subtle loneliness he had felt in the past weeks, and he tried not to let it cloud his judgment as he knelt beside her in his human form, and gently tapped her shoulder.

“Are you all-right?” Stupid question, she looked awfully hurt and scared as hell, but he didn’t know what else to do. As she laid her eyes on him they widened dramatically and she scurried as far away as she could. “Oh my god” she whispered, looking terrified. “You… you’re J-hope!”

He tried calming her down as he smiled warmly at her. “Guilty! But I’m not dangerous unless you threaten me, you don’t have to fear me” She didn’t seem to buy this, as she pulled her knees towards her chest, seemingly trying to shield herself. “Wh- why did you help me?”

“Because you were clearly not happy about the situation you were in, and I am a strong believer in omega rights and that alphas should never take an omega without consent. Besides you were attacked on my pack’s land”

Her eyes widened even more, if that was even possible, which made her look even smaller and more vulnerable. Hoseok felt his alpha instincts rising to the surface. But not in the usual I-wanna-make-someone-bleed kinda way, no this was something he had never felt before. It was an urge to protect. He wanted to stand before this girl and shield her from everything in the world, he wanted to hold her close and out of harm’s way forever. It was so new and confusing but at the same time it felt so right and he knew that he would always want to be there for her, even if she didn’t want him to, he would protect her silently from the shadows, always looking out for her. The feelings were so intense and confusing him so much that he almost missed her frightened outburst;

“Oh my god I’m on your land?! On BTS’ land?! Oh I am so sorry, I didn’t know, they were chasing me, it wasn’t intentional, please don’t…” “Hey! Calm down” He said, interrupting her panic and trying to seem as un-threatening as possible. Unfortunately he was also covered in blood, so this was a little bit difficult. “Look it wasn’t your fault, and I’m not gonna do anything to you. I want to help you, if you would let me?”

She seemed more than hesitant, but then she finally nodded, and he let out a breath of relief and scooted closer. “Okay, let me see your wounds”. She carefully lowered her legs and revealed a deep claw-mark on her side, and other minor scratches and bites on her back and legs. Hoseok quickly concluded that she wasn’t too badly hurt, but her sweaty skin and quick breath suggested that she was in a lot of pain.

“Okay, I’m gonna shift into my wolf and call to my pack, so our sort-of medic will come out here. Then I’m gonna clean your wounds okay?” He waited for her to nod again before shifting and calling out to Seokjin through the pack bond.

Hyung I need your help!

Hoseok? What’s going on?

A omega has been attacked on our lands, she is really hurt!

Hoseok sent a mental picture of the wounds to Seokjin, hoping it would help choosing remedies.

Attacked?! By who? Is it Kim’s again?! I’m coming along!

Yoongi had joined the conversation. Hoseok just answered that he didn’t know, and returned his attention to the trembling girl on the ground. He kind of dreaded the next part, but he knew it had to be done. He slowly lowered his head towards her, carefully watching her reaction as to not scare her too much. Slowly and carefully he extended his tongue and her wounds, cleaning them and helping them heal faster, all the while they kept eye-contact, and he could feel her relax more and more as he gained her trust through this intimate act. They both startled as Yoongi and Seokjin busted though the trees, Seokjin carrying a basket.

Hoseok sat quietly by her side as Seokjin treated her wounds while Yoongi interrogated her. It turned out that she was a stray, thrown out of her pack, and had managed to survive on her own for two whole years, which impressed Hoseok greatly. It was like the more words she said, the more he couldn’t look away from her, and to his surprise but delight she grabbed his hand when Yoongi’s tone got a little too harsh. Hoseok understood why he did it, he was the alpha and therefore he had to protect the pack from spies and such, but Hoseok deemed her wounds enough proof of her innocence, and squeezed her hand to show that it was all right.

When she was able to walk again they brought her back and treated her with a meal and a ton of affection. Jimin and Seokjin in particular felt sympathy for her, as they had both been through something similar, and they helped her calm down. When the night fell and she was offered to stay, she hesitantly accepted.

The sleeping order in the camp had been rearranged, every time a new couple had formed, leaving Hoseok alone in a hut. Because of obvious reasons, she had to stay with him. She didn’t seem to mind too much.

Hoseok tried desperately to not be too awkward as they moved around each other, getting ready for bed. He didn’t know what to say and he didn’t really know how to feel as they barely knew each other, but he also really wanted to talk to her and since when was he this awkward?!

“You are all so nice and sweet!” She finally said, curling up on her new hastily made bed. “It’s so weird, I always imagined BTS as a really dangerous pack who kills everything that moves! But you are all so cute it’s weird.” She had a smile on her face and Hoseok, again, couldn’t look away.

“We are really dangerous, but only towards those who deserve it” He answered. “and you were clearly the victim today, and so we protect you instead”

“Well, you did. Why didn’t the others help you?” Hoseok smiled and tried not to sound too cocky when he answered “they didn’t need to. I can take three full grown alphas by myself no problem” She chuckled at that. “So I’ve heard. Man, is it nice to be in an actual bed again!” Hoseok hesitated a little, but then he couldn’t help himself “Uhm, can I ask why you aren’t in a pack?” Her face fell and Hoseok cursed himself. Way to go.

“If it isn’t too much to ask, can I not tell this story? I mean you did save me from a lot of pain but…” “Of course!” Hoseok interrupted her “You don’t have to if you don’t want to!”

“you seem to be telling me that a lot” she said, again with that little smile. They went silent after that, and Hoseok thought for sure she had gone to sleep, but then, right before he went to sleep he heard her whisper; “thank you… for everything”

Yoongi allowed her to stay with them, after he made absolutely sure she wasn’t a threat. It took awfully long, but at last, Hoseok pointing out the busted rib and deep gashes, he was convinced. They followed the trail of the unknown alphas for a while, but weren’t able to pinpoint where they came from, and instead they decided to keep careful watch over their borders for the next few weeks. The girl healed fast under Seokjin’s care, and was soon up and running, which kind of scared Hoseok. He really didn’t want her to leave.

“I can’t stay here forever Hobi! As soon as I am fully healed I’m leaving again” Hoseok loved the nickname she had created for him, but hated just about everything else of what she was saying. “Why not?! It’s dangerous for you to be alone, what if you get attacked again?” She smiled sadly, looking over to Jin who was tickling Namjoon mercilessly, probably because of something stupid he said. “I don’t belong here Hobi! You are all boys and you all know each other, and I just won’t fit in. Besides, your leader still doesn’t seem to like me that much” Yoongi happened to be standing not too far away, sending her suspicious glances. “Yoongi doesn’t like anyone right away! It took me years to become friends with him, and he only accepted Jin so quickly because of Jimin. You should have seen how he acted when Jungkook first joined! I was scared he might actually kill the kid when he was asleep.” She seemed a bit thrown by this, but continued “Never mind, I still won’t fit in. I’m a stray Hobi, and that’s not gonna change” Hoseok really didn’t understand her need to go, but he could see he had lost. But he also knew that if she left he would have to follow her.

He didn’t just think this way because of the weird, instant connection he felt with her. No it was more than that, during the past two weeks she had spent with them he had noticed different things about her. Things like how happy her laughter made him feel, or how beautiful the sun looked in her hair, or how her smile seemed to fit the description people often gave his own smile; ‘it lights up the world’. He felt like he couldn’t really be happy when she wasn’t around, and he slowly realized that while he might be everyone else’s sunshine, she had become his, and without her he would surely eclipse.

He woke up one night, by the sound of the door to his hut silently being closed. He immediately knew what was going on, but glanced to her bed anyway. Seeing it empty shattered his heart, and without thinking he sprang up and followed her without a second thought. She had managed to get a head start on him, and she was close to the edge when he managed to catch up to her. Since she wasn’t pack he couldn’t communicate with her in wolf form, so he blocked her path and made her stop before he shifted.

“No matter where you go I’m gonna follow you. You won’t get rid of me this easily” She stared at him defiantly and dashed around him, but he just shifted again and followed her easily. Finally she gave up, turned around and shifted.

“Stop it Hoseok. You just want me to go back with you, I know you would never leave your pack just for me”

“Try me” They stared at each other and he saw tears well up in her eyes.

“Why are you doing this? Why can’t you just let me go?!”

“Because I have fallen in love with you”

She stared at him for a while, before she burst into tears. He immediately ran to her and wrapped her up in his arms as she wept. “WHY?!” She half screamed half sobbed, and while Hoseok was extremely confused, he did his best to calm her down. “shh, what do you mean why?”

“How could you possibly love me?! I’m a runt, a stray! I was thrown out of my pack because I wasn’t good enough, no one wants me, so why would you?! You are way too good for me!” He held her tight until she ran out of tears, then he slowly lifted her head in his hands, looked into her eyes and said “Why do I want you? Because you are everything I didn’t know I needed. Because I feel like I can’t be happy without you. Because I want to make you happy and protect you. I said it before and I’ll say it again and again until you get it; wherever you go I will follow you”

Then he kissed her. And after a couple of seconds she finally relaxed and returned the kiss.

“AWWWWW!!!! And here I thought Hoseok couldn’t get any more adorable!”

“Jiiiin, you aren’t allowed to call anyone but me adorable!”

“Ok, but since when did you make me a flower bed huh?! If you want to be called adorable, you gotta earn it”

“Uuuh buuurnt hyung!!”

“Shut up you little brat”

“Hoseokie where are my flowers?!”

Tadaaa! I decided not to give Hobi’s girl a name because she is me so that she can be anyone you want her to be!! Huzaah!
