‘I honestly don’t understand what I’ve done to deserve this. We’re only suppose to be in Seoul until Christmas. Why is this happening to me? How did he even find me?!’ Cara complained to herself as her hazel-green eyes read the smug look on her former lover’s face as he leaned against his limited-edition foreign car. 
 
“What’s wrong, Ara?” He mused, his pink tongue trailed across his top lip, an action she wanted to slap herself for following. He took her silence as a sign to continue his teasing though he could easily tell she was frustrated and annoyed with the situation playing out before her eyes. “Cat got your tongue?”
 
She stared blankly at him for a few seconds, ignoring the commotion behind him - in fact she wanted to scream for them to take his back to his place. “Do you want me to slap you in the face, Kwon?” 

He mockingly put up his hands in the classic surrender position, that annoying /and beautiful/ smile on his face. “Now, now. No need for violence, Lani. Aren’t you happy to see me? It’s been a long time.” He replied, pushing his hands into the pockets of his jeans.  

Something inside snapped and she couldn’t control the words that tumbled out of . “What the do you think you’re doing?! Why can’t you just pretend like we don’t exist? You’ve done fantastically well for the past nine years already.” 
 
'.’ She swore internally as his face dropped while she subconsciously allowed a hand to come up to her forehead to suppress the headache beginning to fester. 
 
Cara sensed the small flinch before his body even executed the action. It was almost as if she slapped him in the face, even after all these years - she could still read him like a book. The emotions swirling around in his dark eyes caused her heart to ache for different reasons. She didn’t want to be labelled the stereotypical bitter black woman. But she still feels the sting of betrayal and resentment for what he did and didn't do. She understood that he had a long time to rethink his decision, nine years almost to the day of their break-up, but he was taking this a step too far. Who knowingly moves two houses down from their baby mother’s house in order to sneak back into her life and the child he left behind?! Kwon Jiyong, that’s who.
 
“Lani, I want to make things right. I know you told me not to try to force myself back into your life but I realized the decision I made was the wrong one.” She opened hermouth to speak but something told her to hear what he had to say. Everyone has said that she left too peacefully, that she should’ve confronted him, that she needed closure to truly moved on despite the fact that she’s had serious relationships after our break-up. She sighed and he quickly took the opportunity to continue, probably sensing her growing irritation. 
 
“You probably don’t believe me or don’t trust my intentions but I honestly want to correct my mistakes. I’ve destroyed all the trust you had for me. I’ve betrayed you in so many ways. I’ve-” dropped as a silent tear trailed down his cheek before he wiped it away furiously. There's two things that Jiyong never does unless he truly means them; apologize and cry infront of others. "I was a coward who ran from his responsibilities. I ran away from my daughter, my own flesh and blood. Our baby... Please, at least allow me to try." 

There was absolute silence for several minutes as she pursed her lips into a thin line. She weighed her options carefully; both the good and the bad while he waited patiently but anxiously awaited her answer. Pulling her lips into a pout, thinking to herself that she wish this wouldn't come around and bite her in the , she answered.  

“You can meet her but if she doesn’t want you in her life. You need to respect that and leave her alone.” She paused before looking him dead in the eye. "If you this up Kwon, if you hurt her.... It'll be the last thing you will never do." She hissed before turning her heel and walking towards her temporary house.
