You and Me and Song of us

Jaebum’s POV
After our first date for a while that ended up with Youngjae got some trauma, I’ve been caught up with my job. I’ve been so busy due to the deadline that PD-nim gave me. Sometimes, I would spend the night in the company. I have been composing the song, but I haven’t written any lyrics. I got frustrated.
This night, while I was working on my project in the recording room, my phone was ringing. Youngjae. I looked at the clock it was 3 in the morning.
“Hello.” –I greeted. A yawn escaped my mouth.
“Baby, are you in the company?” –Youngjae asked, concerned.
“Yes, I am. Why haven’t you slept yet?”
“I can’t sleep. I am worried about you. You’ve been staying in the company for two days in row, babe. Have you eaten?” –he asked, suddenly I remembered that I haven’t eaten since afternoon.
“I’ll come, bring you foods.” –Youngjae said, not waiting for my answer.
In about 20 minutes, he arrived with load of foods. I hugged him as thank. He didn’t leave me as I ate. He wanted to make sure I ate all of the foods. I enjoyed the foods so much. After eating, I told him to go back to the dorm and have some rest. But, he refused it. I couldn’t risk any information about what I was doing now. And as if he could read my mind, he said, “I won’t bother you, hyung. Hm, I mean, baby. I won’t ask too. Just continue your work. But I want to stay with you here. I want to accompany you.”
He took his time adjusting on the couch in the recording room. Just liked he said, I continue my work, working carefully to not leaking any information about the project. After a while, I heard a light snore. I turned my head and found Youngjae in deep slumber. He slept in an awkward position. I grabbed a blanket that he brought me along with the food and walked to him, position him right and wrapped him under the blanket. I leaned in to kiss his forehead and cheeks, muttered, “Thank you, baby, for everything.”
Watching him sleeping, learning his figure, hearing his breath, I guessed he was really tired, yet he still managed to come and bring foods and blanket for me. He really cared for me. And I was so thankful for it. Then suddenly an idea popped in my mind. I wrote it down immediately. It didn’t take too long for me to write the lyrics. I guessed Youngjae’s presence was giving me so many inspirations to write. Indeed, Youngjae was my muse. I just need 30 minutes to finish the song. After finishing it, sleep was consumed me. I walked to the couch and snuggled closer to Youngjae, ready to take my long-awaited sleep.

I finished the song in the right time. I met with PD-nim where he gave me thumbs up for my song. He liked my song and we decided to include it in our special album along with PD-nim’s Confession Song. After the meeting, I went to the dorm with a light steps. I felt my burden was lift away. I looked for Youngjae immediately as soon as I was home. I wanted to say my thanks, because if not for him, I wouldn’t be able to write such simple yet beautiful lyrics for my song, like PD-nim said.
Youngjae came home in the night along with others. He looked so tired, but I couldn’t hold back my excitement to meet him. So, I just running to him and holding him tight, ignoring the little chats that the others have. Youngjae was shocked because he kept muttering “Why? Why? Why?”
“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much, baby.” –I broke the hugged before hugged him again. I heard Bambam said “Eww~ look at them being lovey-dovey again.” I ignored it. After some times, I let go of him. He went to the bathroom to take his shower.
After showering, he joined me on the couch, watching a drama with the others. The others were sitting on the floor, not wanting to disturb two love-birds, they said.
“What make you so happy just now, babe?” –I was waiting for him to ask.
“I met PD-nim and he complimented me. I was so happy that finally I can get you know what I’ve been doing now.” –I grinned.
“I am happy that you are happy too, babe.”
“Hm, we will get our day-off again within this week. Do you want to go to a date again with me? I promise you, it would be a memorable date for us. And I won’t leave you alone. Please?” –I begged him.
He seemed a bit hesitant before replying, “I would be happy to have another date with you. Baby.” –he playfully winking at me.
There I was so glad because of two things: he wanted to go dating again and he've been calling me ‘baby’ ever since we talked at the restaurant. He really trying hard not to get the others overheard our conversation. I still remembered clearly the bad event which happened that night in Han River. After the date, we went home and Youngjae didn’t even leave me for a moment. I thought that he must be shocked. Luckily for us, the other members were asleep that time, so no one bombarded us with questions. I made sure to stay by his side all the time and making sure that he forgot that event.

The night before our planned date, Youngjae was suddenly entered my room and hugged me. I was asleep, but woke up at the sound of the door being opened.
“Hey, babe. What’s wrong?” –I asked him, suddenly feeling awake than before. Youngjae shook his head, not answering me he just snuggled closer to me. I hugged him back. He must be having a nightmare again. It’s been his habit that whenever he got a nightmare he would run up to me and hugged me.
“I have a nightmare, hyung. I was in the other world where there were only cucumbers and cockroaches. I was so afraid because I was alone and they were looking for me.” –he innocently told me. I understood him. Youngjae really hated cucumbers and he was really afraid of cockroaches. I blamed Jackson and Yugyeom who played a prank on my baby today.
Earlier this day, Yugyeom and Jackson were up for something. They’ve been whispering since in the van. I never saw them so close before. Before we got on the stage, I overheard their conversation.
“Hyung, our plan is daebak! I bet Youngjae hyung will be scare. Well, he is the most scared member after all.” –Yugyeom excitedly said to Jackson who nodded his head. Then, they both laughed. Hearing my baby’s name being called, I got curious. I asked them, but they didn’t tell me the detail, they just told me that they want to scare Youngjae. I frowned. I disagreed with them, but they successfully convince me that it was no harm and beside I would get to see Youngjae’s scared face. But, to prevent anything bad, I made sure to keep Youngjae everywhere he goes.
It was around our resting time that Jackson and Yugyeom took Youngjae to an empty room. I followed them. They’ve been on the conversation as I entered the room. Yugyeom and Jackson were exchanging gaze as if saying, “There is JB hyung, are you sure want to continue this prank?” It didn’t take too long for them to processing with the prank. I prayed to God to have Youngjae saved and nothing’s hurt him. Although it was just a prank, I couldn’t help but worried about Youngjae, because when Yugyeom and Jackson were up to something, the duo would be really scary and crazy.
“Youngjae, choose one.” –Jackson said as he offered both of his fists. Youngjae looked a bit hesitant, but Jackson assured him that in one of the fist was a gift. So, he choosed the right hand.
“Are you sure? No regrets?” –Jackson made sure.
“Yes, no regret.”
“Okay. You can have it.” –Jackson put a cockroaches on Youngjae’s hand. And Youngjae immediately threw it while kept yelling “Annoying. So annoying. Get lose!” Although I found it funny, I couldn’t help but pity my baby. He kept yelling and his face was pale. I knew it was so much for him, he clutching his heart too due to the shocked. So, I took his hand and squished it, trying to make him calm then I gave him a short hug which made him calmer. Even after the prank, he seemed to be fine and not hating Jackson and Yugyeom who did prank on him. Otherwise, he just laughed at that prank. That was my baby who always has positive attitude and mind towards everything.
Youngjae didn’t know that I was up for that prank also. So, watching him sleeping under my arm, make me felt so guilty towards him. Before sleeping, I made a promise to made Youngjae happy tomorrow. Tomorrow would be the greatest date ever.
