Hoseok was hooking up in his schoolbag as he walked through the school gates. The bell was chiming behind him. Hoseok and everyone else were smiling. It was Friday afternoon and it was finally weekend. With a light skip in his steps, Hoseok walked in his own mind, whistling gleefully. 7th grade student without a care in the world, only whether he was going to lose the dance battle the upcoming Saturday. Party later that night, dance practice the day after and Sunday to be spent with his friends too. He hadn’t gotten far out of school before he noticed another boy ahead of him. He didn’t wear the same uniform as Hoseok and he concluded he must have been attending the private school a block away from Hoseok’s own. He couldn’t help but notice how the boy seemed to struggle with something heavy. It was evident in the way he was walking. Burdened down by something physically heavy. The boy turned shortly to look over his shoulder and Hoseok saw the amount of books he was carrying. What a nerd he thought. Hoseok looked back down on the sidewalk, focusing his eyes where he was heading.

A loud yelp sounded followed by the thundering sound of something heavy hitting the ground. Despite himself, Hoseok looked up, curiously as to what to had happened. He saw the boy from before on the ground, the uncountable number of books scattered around him and a small handful of boys from Hoseok’s class standing around him, laughing. The boys scattered shortly after and Hoseok walked up to the other. The boy scrambled around on the ground, hand searching around for something.

“They are such immature idiots.” Hoseok said as he searched the ground for something the other could be looking for. Giving the other a short glance he could see how he was squinting his eyes. Now Hoseok knew what he was looking for, and quickly located the pair of glasses ten feet away.

“Have you seen my g…” Hoseok cut him off by placing the glasses on the bridge of his nose. The eyes now framed by glass swam with indescribable sadness. All dull and void of life. The boy gave Hoseok a smile but Hoseok didn’t count it as anything. The smile didn’t even reach his cheeks. Hoseok felt bad for him. He pitied him. They soon filled with tears and Hoseok felt a strangling need to comfort the other.

“They should get a life that doesn’t include you.” He said and gave the boy’s shoulder a little squeeze.

“T-thanks.” He muttered and started picking up his books. Hoseok quickly started helping him gathering the many books and kept about half of them himself.

“I’m Hoseok.” He said smiling over the pile of books he was carrying.

“Taehyung.” The boy replied smiling a little wider now.

“Where do you live?” Hoseok questioned. He found out, Taehyung was living on the same street as him but they had never met for some reason.

“Why haven’t we met?” Hoseok questioned, unable to keep his curiosity at bay.

“I go to the private school a couple of blocks away.” He explained what Hoseok had already deduced.

Normally Hoseok wouldn’t have spent time with someone attending the private school. They were all stuck up nerds fed with golden spoons. But with Taehyung it was different. They talked all they way home, Hoseok carrying half the book, Taehyung carried the other half. Hoseok had to admit, he was a pretty cool guy. He played soccer and was singing. Hoseok asked if he wanted to join him and his friends for practice the next day and Taehyung instantly agreed. They spent the whole weekend together and the more Hoseok got to know about Taehyung, the more he liked him. Hoseok’s other friends instantly took a liking to the kid too.

Monday morning, Hoseok walked up to the house he had learned Taehyung lived in. He was genuinely surprised to see Taehyung stumbling over the threshold, arms full of books again. Hoseok doesn’t hesitate before he runs up to Taehyung, wishes him a good morning and grabs half of his books again.

“You sure aim to be a strong man with tons of muscles, eh?” Hoseok laughs as Taehyung heaves a sigh of relief. “I mean, you carry the books back and forth from school.” He pointed out and Taehyung gave a sheepish smile but didn’t deny nor confirm his theory. Hoseok couldn’t help but notice how Taehyung looked a lot happier that morning than he had done Friday afternoon. He actually just laughed at Hoseok’s question and that morning, Hoseok leaned that Taehyung had the most beautiful laugh in the world.

The two boys were glued to each others’ hips the next years. All the way through high school they marched arm in arm, smiles wide and making wonderful friends. Occasionally their connection was prolonged by a girl or two as girlfriends came and left, but never once did they get to sneak between them. Hoseok and Taehyung grew to become best of friends, and they knew everything about each other. Hoseok knew Taehyung wanted to become a doctor and was going to move to Seoul when he finished high school, and Taehyung knew, Hoseok wanted to be a salesman and would stay in Daegu to study. Hoseok knew that the distance between them wouldn’t be a problem. They didn’t have the world’s best data network for nothing. They kept in touch over text, phone calls, skype calls, silly snapchats and whatever else they could come up with. And once per month, first weeken

Chapter 1: No.freaking.way.
No, seriously, that was too beautiful of a shot. I was quite taken aback, for real.

I'm not lying when I say I almost teared up— almost, because of Tae's speech. I was intrigued by your description/foreword and I made the best choice of choosing to read this. Hell, it could've bee Taexanyone and the effect will be deep. Tae fits every member for heaven's sake.

But I'm glad you chose Hoseok, idk. Though I pointed out that way, of course there's a time where some stories fits this one character the most, I'm sure you think so too.

Maybe you're used to write in first pov and you didn't proofread or you did but you missed it, but yeah there's this line before the long speech; I guess it should've been "he" instead of "I" but anyways

Good job for this beautiful piece, I was touched, thank you ♡

Chapter 1: This was lovely and brilliant. It's such a pleasure to read. (You have one glaring error when Hobi visits Tae you say he's visiting Hoseok's apartment.)
