Mission: Girlfriend

"Kim Mingyu? Are you here yet?" Mijoo asked in annoyance as she spoke through the phone. She had been waiting on the cold streets of Myeongdong for the past 30 minutes, and there was still no sign of Kim Mingyu. Mijoo was freezing off because she wanted to look good for him, and was currently dressed in a short lacy skirt and a pink frilly top.

Not very smart when the temperature was 10 degrees.

"Uh, sorry. I totally forgot! I'm currently at Wonwoo's house, you want to go out later?" Mingyu laughed into the phone as he won against Wonwoo again.

"You must be having a lot of fun, Mr. Kim," Mijoo growled.

"Yeah? You don't even need to say that! Pokemon battles are super amazing!"

"Is it?" Mingyu gulped as he heard the sweet yet dangerous tone in the rhetorical question.

"Not really," He broke out into nervous laughter, "Uh, one hour?"

Stupid idiot who can't take a hint. Argh! Mijoo ended the call without saying goodbye. She walked down the streets herself, completing the task she wanted to do today. That is, to get couple earrings for both of them. Mijoo wanted to forgo buying a pair for Mingyu but then, she let her good side overtake her and ended up buying one for him.

Mijoo sighed as she waited for the cashier to finish inputing the bill and packaging the earrings. The part-timer looked up with curious eyes as he asked what was wrong.

"Nothing, just that my boyfriend seems to like his best friend over me," Mijoo blew a raspberry. He just laughed, "I don't think he would. You are a pretty lady afterall," The cashier with the nametag 'Soonyoung' winked at her.

Mijoo just smiled, embarrassed and a little gloomy, "Nope. Definitely not. Mingyu hasn't even complimented me once, that guy probably doesn't even look at me on our dates." Wow thinking about this makes me mad. I'm going home right now and complaining-

"Wait, what? You mean Kim Mingyu?"

"Uh."

"Mingyu and Wonwoo right?"

"Yeah, do you know them?" 

Soonyoung just laughed his head off. After his bout of incessant giggling, he finally chilled. "Yeah. Oh my god. So, he was suppose to go out with you today but then he's at home with Wonwoo right now?"

"You understand him so well." Mijoo rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, I do. Come on, my shift is over, let's go over to Wonwoo's. But damn, I now know why he doesn't want to show his girlfriend off." Soonyoung snickered as he left a frowning Mijoo in his wake.

"Oh? Soonyoung-ah? You didn't say you were coming over." Wonwoo slapped his back in surprise but ushered him in, only to find a girl standing behind him. Wonwoo smiled sheepishly. "Girlfriend?"

"Not mine." Soonyoung shouted as he ransacked Wonwoo's kitchen.

"Hello. Nice to meet you," Wonwoo winked at Mijoo as she sent him a cautious look.

"Oh right, KIM MINGYU. You unpaused the game, didn't you?"

"No, of course not-" Mingyu turned around to see his girlfriend standing behind, with a furious gaze that was boring into his eyes. He dropped the game console, much to Wonwoo's annoyance, and clumsily walked to her.

"Mijoo, how did y-you?" Soonyoung walked out of the kitchen, only to start laughing loudly at Mingyu's quivering form.

"What? Why? I was just going to play with my best friend because someone ditched me." She shrugged. 

"WHAT? SOONYOUNG IS YOUR BEST FRIEND?"

"AISH, KIM MINGYU, YOU SURE ARE NOISY. WHAT? IS THERE A PROBLEM?"

"WHEN DID YOU TWO EVEN MEET!"

"TODAY. HAPPY?"

"You can't be best friends with someone you just met TODAY. And, you can't just follow some guy home." Mingyu said, exasperated and pushed Soonyoung, who had placed an arm over Mijoo's shoulders, away.

"Why not? According to my supposedly boyfriend, Kim Mingyu, hanging out with your best friend, is the best thing to do in the world," Mijoo retorted, not one to back down. Mingyu clicked his tongue and looked away with a childish 'hmph'.

Soonyoung and Wonwoo watched the couple argue from the background. Soonyoung whispered to him, "It's all your fault, don't laugh."

Mijoo and Mingyu didn't talk throughout the whole time they started to play games. If they played Mariokart, Mingyu wouldn't hesitate to throw turtle shells at her. If they played Dance Dance Revolution, Mijoo wouldn't hesitate to stomp on his foot every chance she got.

That is, until they had to play co-ops.

Mijoo was just so stubborn sometimes. And now, she just has to pair up with Wonwoo. Stupid . I swear, if he so much as touch a strand of her hair, I will kill him. 

Wonwoo-Mijoo pair won and the former pulled the girl in for a hug, one that lasted too long for Mingyu's liking.

Honestly, Mijoo could see Mingyu from the corner of her eye and seeing some form of jealously boiling in him was amusing her. Revenge was sweet.

"Argh! Separate, separate, separate!" Mingyu fumed as he sat in the middle of Wonwoo and Mijoo.

"Tch, only now, do you care? Stupid Gyu." She rolled her eyes exaggeratedly, "Go away, I want to play with Wonwoo." Mingyu gaped as she continued conversing with Wonwoo even though he was in the middle. 

"That's it! I knew it! My ex-girlfriends always took an interest in Wonwoo! That's why I didn't want to bring you here!" He grabbed Mijoo's wrist and pulled her to the front door.

"...Really? Kim Mingyu? That's stupid." Mijoo broke into laughter.

"What? This is serious! I don't want to lose you. Wonwoo-hyung keeps badgering me to play with him if not he's going to show up on our dates. If you fall for him, argh, my life is ruined!" Mingyu faked-sobbed.

"What if I told you I like him?"

"NO! YOU CAN'T!"

"I was kidding. I know he's gay and dating some guy named Joshua."

"Mijooooo, stop teasing me," Mingyu hugged her and let out a sigh of relief.

"Well, next time you know not to belittle my trust like that."

I had fun writing this chapter, it got out of point. It's okay. Have some *cough* meanie and Jiwoo action.
