This is an entry for EXOplosion Writing Contest

Major credit to my favourite character from my favourite manga & anime, Taichi Mashima of Chihayafuru. The way he devotes himself to the girl he loves has inspired me a lot to write this story.

Title (10/10)

Back to December is such a intriguing title. When I read the title, it reminds me of angst - and that is exactly what the story is. Once the reader sees the title, it would automatically remind them of a sad that happened in december. I personally think that the title is not overused, reminds me of Taylor Swift though. Also, the title will pipe the reader's curiousity.

Foreword (10/10)

The foreword is interesting and it will also make the reader wonder what happened? Why did Kai keep falling to the hole if he did not want to? Maybe for a more mature reader, someone who has experienced a heartbreak, they would feel the pain. Angst. Also, it did not reveal any part of the story except for Kai is deep in love, too deep. The foreword is not untidy because it has only one line. The impact of one line is huge.

Plot (32/35)

What am I really happy to say is, the plot actually makes sense! Its not your typical fairy tale, its more on the reality side. I like reality. If a reader experienced a heartbreak, he/she would definitely understand how Kai felt when Yoojin rejected him. I like how Yoojin suggested that they should take a break, and then meet again on Christmas Day. Kai did not hold her hand, spin her then kiss her, and tell her he loves her - which is why the actions of the characters makes a lot of sense. No one just goes around and turn someone around then kiss them. The plot is not overused but not really not used. It isn't cliche too. 

The tags used does fit in. But in my opinion, I don't think the tag, 'romance', was well-used. I don't see romance, did they even kiss? Or hug with romance feelings?

The overall story is actually really good. The reader would definitely recognise the plot. For me, I think the moral of this story is do not fall in love so easily. I am not a fairy tale believer, so I think I would naturally get this kind of feeling.

There's a lot to cover in this section but the uncovered topics are really good thus I do not you need to improve on them. But really, if you do, you can become a real writer.

Characters (20/20)

Yoojin's character changed when she met Kai, and it shows how big of an impact Kai has on her life. It really shows that Yoojin really did enjoyed and appreciated Kai's presence. Also, it did made sense when Yoojin confessed in the letter that she actually still loves Kai. Even during the time when Kai confessed to her in the fall. 

I don't know what else I should cover here, but overall, all is good!

The grammar is perfect, so naturally, there's nothing for me to say.
