'I guess I should explain the rules, right?' Jae Won says as Ailee serves the canned Americano to him. Seulgi notices that, despite of being a , Ailee is rather respectful towards Jae Won

'The theme of this battle is Self-Composed songs'

Wendy and Seulgi looks at each other

'Like the theme suggests, the song that you are going to perform must be written by yourself'

'I don't think it's a good idea, Seulgi-ah' Wendy whispers in Seulgi's ear. Seulgi ignores it, she has come too far the pull away from this battle

'Of course, I thought that it may be a little burdensome, so featurings are allowed. You are allowed to feature a student from your respective schools, as long as there is a way to identify him'

Seulgi accidentally lets out a relief sigh

'The date of battle would be 28th of December, which would be exactly 3 weeks from now. The venue of this battle will be Seoul National Arts & Performing High's auditorium, plus, all the 3rd years of the school will be watching.. I'm sure performing infront of hundreds shouldn't be a problem, right?'

Both Ailee and Seulgi nods

Back to present time

'This battle is literally one-sided.. I mean why Ailee gets the home ground advantage?' Wendy says grumpily

'Wendy-ah, you know I'm counting on you this time' Seulgi says while looking at Wendy's report card

'You're a pro at composing, and you're my friend, right?' Seulgi says with a slight aegyo

'What if I say no?'

'Then I'll just steal someone's song then' Seulgi says as if it is normal, earning  a smack from her bestie

'Yahh Kang Seul, if you do that, I won't bother to befriend you anymore!'

'Hahaha Just joking, don't get angry pweashhh'

Even the all mighthy Kang Seulgi is afraid of losing her bestie, especially when Wendy is her only friend

'But I cannot help you this time around' Wendy says

'Why?' Seulgi pouts

'I'm not really good at it, I got B+ is because I seeked help from someone'

'Who?'

'Kang Seungyoon!' Wendy says with a grin

'Why does his name sound so familiar?'

'The guy we met earlier, the number 2!'

'Owh... No way!'

'Why not?!'

'He's number 2!'

'I'm 8th, hellooo?'

'But..... it's you Wendy Son!'

'I'm thankful for your admiration, but I don't think I can handle this, ya know I've anxiety attacks... right?' Wendy reminds Seulgi

Mino looks at his report card full of D's and F's, except the usuals

'Minho-ah! Let me see your report card' Seungyoon snatches the report card

'It's exactly the same, heh'

'Thanks for the compliment, friend' Mino says sarcastically

'By the way, what is everyone talking about?'

'Huh?'

Seungyoon points at Mino's classmates, who seems to be blabbing about something

'Ahh, Seulgi is going to a battle'

'Against?'

'That Ailee girl we saw earlier'

Before Seungyoon could react, someone barges into the classroom

'Ahh there you are! Seungyooniee~~~' Wendy's loud voice echoes in the room, everyone stares at the loud blonde haired girl

'Oh Wan-ah! Annyeong~!' Seungyoon grins

'Minho-ah annyeong!' Wendy waves

'Uhh' Mino slightly waves back

'I bet you got 3 A's again right?' Wendy asks

Mino smirks, indicating a yes reply, at least someone else besides Seungyoon acknowledges Mino

'Seungyoon, do you have time now? I would like to discuss something'

'What?!' Seungyoon says in disbelief

'...'

'You want me to feature in your song?'

'Yes, I was thinking of showing them the power of Top 2 in our school' Seulgi lies in her usual bored tone

'I thought I was just another "winner among the long line of losers"?' Seungyoon imitates Seulgi earlier

Seulgi slightly bites her lips

'I'm not interested' Seungyoon is about to leave before Wendy stops him

'Pweashhh, Seungyoonieeee.... It's a favour from meee' Wendy says cutely

'And what do I get in return?'

'Err..... You get to go on a date with me!' Wendy suggests while slightly raising her chest a little

'Aish, you know that you are hot, don't you?' Seungyoon, this time gives Wendy the flirty look

'Hehehe'

'Forget about the date, you owe me a cup of coffee'

'That means you're doing it?' Seulgi says half excitedly

'Unless I change my mind'

'Thank youuuu!!!' Wendy hugs Seungyoon, leaving Seulgi like an awkward bear there

'Message me when you wanna meet me' Seungyoon says before leaving cooly

'Tch, he should feel honoured, I mean I, Kang Seulgi, asked him to feature in my song.. how dare he rejects me'

'Aii Seulgi, calm down.. he said he's doing it anyways'

'I don't like him, he gets on my nerves'

'Seulgi-ah, you should keep your pride down a little this time... he's writing you a song, remember?'

'Sigh.... alright' Seulgi admits defeat, this time

So then, they agreed to meet up every lunch break in the vocal practice classroom

'But... what are you doing here?' Seungyoon asks Wendy, who tagged Seulgi along into the classroom

'Just in case you two.. err... fight' Wendy says

 'Right, I forgot she's a bra-'

'Let's get started' Wendy avoids another world war. She knew exactly both Seungyoon's and Seulgi's personality, so with her presence made it easier for them to communicate

'I've already pre-written a few songs... listen to it and we could pick a song from here, if you aren't happy with any of it, I could write a new one' Seungyoon shows his phone's music player

Seulgi and Wendy then listened intently to all Seungyoon's pieces, more like Seulgi was the only one listening seriously because Wendy literally jams to every song

'You mainly use guitars to compose, right?' Seulgi says

'Yes, Captain Obvious' Seungyoon points at his own guitar

'I personally liked this song, titled "Smile Again', especially the chorus'

Seulgi hums the chorus of Smile Again

'I don't think your vocal suits this song, wait a second, I'll edit a bit'

Then, the hardwork begins now. Seungyoon worked hard on editing the song to suit Seulgi's style, while surprisingly Seulgi gave quite a number of ideas, and there's Wendy who sat there learning from the Top 2 of her school

'I don't understand one part though' Seungyoon says as he finishes up their chorus

'What?' Seulgi and Wendy look at him

'Why me?'

'Huh?'

'Like, there are other better composers than me in this school'

'What are you trying to say?'

'It's just that, I don't think that I'm writing a winning song'

'Why you think so? We both agreed that this was a bomb'

'Kang Seulgi, are you playing dumb or are you seriously stupid?'

'Say th-'

'Calm down Seul, please listen to Seungyoonie first' Wendy pulls Seulgi back

'They were the one who chose the theme, right?'

'Yea, so what?'

'Don't you understand? It means that either Ailee posses a crazy song-writing skills, or one of their students is a prodigy in writing a winning song'

'...'

Seungyoon sighs frustratedly

'If not you... then who? You're the best after me' Seulgi says

'Can you PLEASE take off your mind off the rankings bull? Right, I'm 2nd after you, in the OVERALL rankings, but I can't say I'm on top on in the SELF-COMPOSITON rankings, I might be even in the top 10'

'So?' Seulgi says bluntly

'Sigh... I do have a friend who will most probably be on the top of that ranking list'

'Ahh, him?' Wendy knows who Seungyoon was about say

'You know who?' Seulgi asks her bestie

'Yea, that guy beside Seungyoonie yesterday!! Remember?'

'Huh? Weren't you alone?' Seulgi ponders for a bit

'Ugh, how blind can you be? How could you miss a giant??' Wendy face palms

'Whoever he is, is it possible for him to come here now?' Seulgi says

'He'd prefer you to go to him, you're the one after his songs, after all' Seungyoon says as a matter of fact

'Ugh, he better be someone worth my time, where is him?'

'Wan-ah, you know where he is right?'

'There, right?' Wendy says hesitantly

'You know him?' Seulgi asks again

'Yea, let's go, there's 5 minutes left before lunch break ends' Wendy replies

'Where?'

'To him'

'Isn't this an abandoned club room?' Seulgi looks at the dusty door

'If it is, it wouldn't be quiet inside right' Wendy reminds Seulgi, as sounds of strong beats echoes from the room

'Oh...'

Seulgi may seem like she's intimidating, powerful and so on, but in reality she's just another pabo. They enter the "club room". Heavy beats could be heard from everywhere. Wendy tries to scan for the person they are searching for, but failed to do so because it is a little chaotic

'Where is he?' Seulgi says

'Huh?' Wendy couldn't hear

'Where is he?' Seulgi shouts this time

'Oh there he is!' Wendy points at a person holding a mic

Just then, Mino steps middle of the room and starts to rap his own track, titled 'I'm Him'

Wendy knows very well that Seulgi hates, or a stronger word, despises rap/hiphop, so she prays that Seulgi will not do anything crazy. Throwing all worries aside, Wendy jams hard to Mino's rap, it has been long since she last saw Mino rapping, since she had to accompany Seulgi during lunch

As for Seulgi, she hates hiphop/rap, but she tells herself to bear with it, and leave quietly, as a sign of respect towards the performer, as taught by the school. However, deep down Seulgi admits that the song was well made, she just cannot accept the idea of collaborating with a rapper, she just does not acknowledge them.

As Mino raps, Seulgi loses her cool slowly and eventually snaps

'I wouldn't work with a lowly person like him!'

Just then, Mino finished rapping and there were no background music, so Seulgi's voice filled the room,

earning everyone's attention

The situation was kinda like GOT7's Girls Girls Girls MV, when Nayeon seems lost in the err.. mini club ahahah (Just in case you don't know what I'm saying)
