The Gift
Myungsoo debates with himself if he should pursue his best friend’s plan. He stares at himself in the mirror and adjusts the red ribbon around his neck. He runs his fingers through his hair, giving it a disheveled style. He lets out a long drawn breath and brace himself for what is to come.
He steps out of the bathroom and goes straight to his shared bedroom with his fiance. He lets the door crack open and he sees Sungyeol leisurely sipping his hot chocolate which he probably drown in heaps of marshmallows while seated on their bed. He slides inside and clears his throat, trying to catch his attention. Sungyeol turns to his direction and immediately beams at the sight of him standing close to the door.
Sungyeol tries to get up and come near him, but Myungsoo stops him. “Stay there.” He tells him which earns a frown from the former.
“Why? I want to give my Christmas gift to you.” Sungyeol waves a small box neatly wrapped and topped with a silver ribbon.
“Well.. Uhh.. Let me give mine first.”
Sungyeol’s eyes widenas he sets his mug of hot chocolate down on the bedside table. “Really? Where?”
Myungsoo spreads his arms and Sungyeol just stares at him without any clue, waiting with so much anticipation for his gift. Myungsoo inhales deeply.
This is it. He’s going to do it. For Sungyeol.
