REVEAL 03. Across the Sea, On Your Screen.
4xU. The ComeBack: AWARD SHOW SEASON!REVEAL ONE - Across the Sea, On Your Screen.
Scripts were common to see on set, especially with this particular group. Since their official regroup and revamped announcement from Woollim, a lot of offers for MC positions, variety shows, and even a few drama offers were being shoved into their management's hands for the girls to consider. Some were individual, others were for the originals or the newbies, and others were for the group as a whole. All in all, it took a lot of time for Su-chin and their other managers (that changed frequently, thanks to some certain members, they were a handful and people had to take shifts in order to maintain their sanity.) As 4xU's visual sat in her makeup chair, she flipped through a script, almost laughing to see who she might be MCing with if she were to take the offer. The irony of it all.
"Ah, Tina, your skin always glows naturally, why do I even need to touch your face up? It's already perfect!" The stylist sighed, gently applying setting powder to ensure not a line or a color would melt out of place while filming. Tina just smiled.
"Guess it's in my genetics, huh?" She said, her eyes never leaving her script. She didn't mean to be rude, Tina was of course, known as a pretty face with manners, but she was still overly giddy about her little MC offer.
"Ah, you'd be interacting with VIXX's leader, how exciting! VIXX is one of your favorite groups, right?" Her stylist caught the name she had been lingering on. Before Tina could even respond, Chase appeared, her long hair mixing with the Vietnam native's.
"Oh, I'd definitely say they were her favorite~ Especially their leader~ Congrats, Tina!" Chase teased, ducking the swat that she saw coming. Tina was sure there was heat rising in her cheeks, turning in her chair and checked her hair before dismissing the stylist with a polite and ever grateful "thank you", then turning to her groupmate and best friend. "Chaaaase! You can not do that!"
The accused girl looked around with rounded eyes, feigning innocence. "Whaaaaaaaat? Me? What did lil' old me do?"
"Chase, come on. You know how Hakyeon and I feel about that --"
"I know, I know, ya'll made an arrangement when you were announced to redebut." Chase waved her offf. Tina told her everything, even when she and the boy group leader had started dating just shy of a year and a half ago. This situation was nothing new. Chase leaned against the makeup table, messing with brushes and such as Tina spoke.
"We did, and even though you aren't directly apart of it," Tina nudged her friend's shoulder, side eyeing her in the mirror as she talked, "You should still respect it. Just because you haven't met anyone yet and are swearing you'll die alone --"
"I won't be alone, I'll have my cats. And Dogs. Oh and spiders!! Don't forget the beautiful insect eating spiders." Chase spouted, a huge grin across her face. Tina rolled her eyes. She should've known better than to start something akin to an argument with Miss Debate herself.
Nareul nochigi shireo~ Nareul deo mangchigi shireooooooo~
Tina instinctively answered the phone at the ringtone. It was hard not too, and Chase's grin only got bigger. "Hey love, what's going on?"
"Just wondering how my favorite girl was doing!" The voice never failed to make her smile, and Tina attempted to shoo Chase out of the room while she tried to have a quick conversation with her boyfriend.
"I'm well, how about you?" Tina said into the speaker, before hissing at Chase, "Get out!! Now!!"
"No!!" Was her response. You know what, Tina didn't care about that she only came up to Chase's nose in heels, she would find a way to personally strangle her before the phone conversation was over.
"Tina? You still there?" Hakyeon's voice was concerned, and Tina sighed through her nose. He then started to laugh. "Oh, Chase is there, isn't she?"
"Hey HakyeooooooW. OW. Tiiiina!" She wailed, the shorter tugging on her long strands of hair. "Fine fine, ow!!! Mercy, I'm leaving! You'd think that the foreigners would band together, but NO. Fine, I'll go bother Clara. At least my baby loves me!" She dramatized as she left, and Tina could hear her wails of drama and ridiculousness as she went on her hunt to find the maknae. It wasn't any wonder why the two were friends with their dramatic tendencies. But Tina turned her attention back to her phone and current conversation.
"I'm here, Chase is gone. Babe, why'd you really call?" Tina asked. It was a fair question, N had made a promise to not bother her during the crunch time up till their debut showcase unless she contacted first.
"I'm really just wanting to check up on you, love." He insisted, and Tina's face twisted up. She could practically feel his nerves from his end of the phone. This phonecall was not about checking up on her.
"You're a terrible liar, you know that right?" She quipped. She heard a sigh, then a mumbled response and someone laughing hysterically in the background.
"Hakyeon??? What was that?"
Another sigh and a slightly louder mumble, "IjustreallymissyouandwanttoseeyouandRavi'smakingfunofmeaboutitsoIcalledyou."
Tina smiled, "Awww, babe." Usually, their relationship consisted of him teasing her and Chase losing it, but having the proverbial shoe on the other foot was a first. "I miss you too. Go beat Ravi up to occupy you, we should definitely discuss this MC thing tonight."
"You want to do it?" His voice was considerably perked up, and Tina withheld another laugh. "I do, but you know we'd have to be careful. We'll talk about it later, okay? I love you."
"I love you too. Call me!"
"I will!"
"Disgusting."
...
"GROSS."
...
"UUUUGH WHY ARE YOU SO CHEESY, YOOK SUNGJAE!!" Sophie yelled, throwing her phone across the room as Clara entered, scaring the life out of their youngest and having her skitter away into her room. If she weren't so heated, Sophie would've definitely felt a little bad, but her emotions were rarely in control when it came to the boy she had just cursed.
Naeun looked up briefly, "I don't see why you keep watching the show if you're just going to get angry and throw your phone."
"It's fine, my baby has an Otterbox on it. It's Sungjae's face that's going to need help once I see him again." She sulked, not even bothering picking up her phone, glaring at it as if it were the cause of her problems. Naeun simply rolled her eyes and went back to her magazine, flipping through it casually. It was their rest day of the crunch schedule, and the members mostly went out to enjoy their last taste of freedom. Naeun was waiting for her brother and Sophie was, well, in Chase's words, "torturing herself."
It was all his dumb fault, taking the deal to be on We Got Married. And of course he had to be paired up with "her". Not that she was jealous. At all. Sophie took a deep breath, before grabbing her pillow and stuffing her face into it, mumbling incohertently.
"Hm?" Naeun looked up. Sophie peeked over her pillow. "Shh. I'm having a therapy session."
"With.... your pillow?"
"Yes. Dr. 400 Thread Count is actually quite knowledgeable with my troubles. And they're very comfortable."
Naeun nodded slowly, before standing up and prompting slipping her shoes on just as her own phone rang. "Oh! I was just going to come down and wait for you -- Oh no, let's go out. Just -- Let's go out. No." Naeun prattled on as she left, closing the door behind her.
It took a bit more mumbling and something akin to screeching from Sophie, but she settled down, pouting atop of her pillow as she definitely did not sulk over her friend being 'married'. Suddenly her phone was scooted into her lap. Sophie looked over to see little Clara curling up with her Chinese lesson book, something she was hardly seen without when she had a moment to spare.
"...Ta." She started, before correcting herself, "Thanks, I mean."
Clara looked up, smiling a little. "S-sure. U-uhm..." She tucked her hair behind her ear, "H-how about instead of making yourself u-upset... w-w-we could watch a d-different show?" She gave her elder bandmate the remote, and Sophie took it lightly. She was always paranoid around Clara, because, well, Clara was like a baby bunny. Easily frightened and the first reaction was to hide from the thing that scared it. The thing being, well, Sophie usually. So Clara spending actual time with her was something that should not be taken lightly and she should proceed with caution.
"Let's watch a horror movie, eh Sol?" Sophie beamed, clicking the TV on and scrolling through the channels. She could see Clara's face visibly pale (impressive) and shake a little. But the younger forced a nod, curling into her Chinese book.
Caution, Sophie reasoned, is for the weak. Caution is also for those who don't want to be beaten up by the older girls when they got back and found the two maknae line members trembling with fear, but that was for future Sophie to worry about and present Sophie to worry about which movie would be the scariest.
"Let's watch Paranormal Activity!"
