Lifeline.Chanhee lets out a small smile, observing Byunghun who had fallen asleep on his lap intently. The older runs his fingers through Byunghun’s soft brown hair gently careful not the wake the soundly asleep boy. Seeing that Byunghun seemed a little uncomfortable in the position, he gingerly slipped his left arm under Byunghun’s neck and his right arm under the latter’s thighs before lifting him up rather effortlessly and carrying him into his room, cautiously settling the smaller down onto his bed beside Chanhun’s cot before pulling the blanket over Byunghun’s small body and tucking him in.
Inching in, Chanhee was about to place a peck on Byunghun’s forehead when he caught himself and immediately pulled himself away. Blinking a few times at Byunghun’s sleeping figure he turned around and left the room, closing the door quietly behind him.
Chanhee returns to the living room, scanning the huge mess around the house he shakes his head before pursing his lips together and kneels onto the floor to pick up the remaining scattered toys and baby books on the floor that Byunghun didn’t pick up previously. Putting them in the corner with the other toys, he then proceeds to pick up the milk bottles and bringing them to the kitchen leaving them on the countertop.
Dusting off his hands, he lets out a satisfied smile seeing that the place seemed tidier than before and returned to the living room, sitting beside Chan Chan on the sofa and patting the bunny plush’s head.
“It’s been a long time eh Chan Chan?”
Five years ago, Lee Chanhee would never be seen communicating with a stuffed toy but you could say ever since he met Lee Byunghun, he changed. The younger had quite a strong influence on him.
Chanhee whipped his head, hearing the lock jingle as the door opened revealing Wooshin.
“Byunghun ah!” Wooshin yells the moment he wheels into the house but his facial expression was overwhelmed by shock when he saw his own brother in the house instead.
Chanhee had his finger to his lips anxiously trying to get Wooshin to keep his voice low in case he woke the two sleeping guys up.
“Hyung! Why are you here? You didn’t mention that you were coming back? Where’s Jonghyun?” Wooshin whispered after getting his hyung’s signal to speak softly.
“I… I broke up with Jonghyun, decided that I needed time alone so here I am.” Chanhee shrugged as he got up to wheel Wooshin further into the house.
Wooshin kept his silence as he processed the information, just as confused as Byunghun was when he first heard of Jonghyun’s and Chanhee’s break up.
“Uh it was a mutual thing, the break up. It just didn’t work out in the end I guess.” Chanhee hurriedly adds as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, explaining before Wooshin could ask another question.
“Oh.” Was all Wooshin managed to utter with a slight but still confused nod. He was probably going to ask for more detailed narration from Byunghun later about his brother’s failed relationship.
“Byunghun’s asleep.” Chanhee announces and Wooshin nods again, the redhead was about to wheel himself into his room to grab a change of clothes for a fresh shower when his eyes widened.
“Byunghun! You have to report for work in fifteen minutes!” Wooshin screams into the room, waking both Byunghun and Chanhun in the process.
Byunghun shot out of bed at Wooshin’s loud voice before cursing under his breath after glancing at the clock.
“ Myungsoo hyung’s wife is not going to be pleased if I’m late.” He muttered softly as he took Chanhun into his arms.
“Sorry baby we’ve to head out now.” Byunghun kissed his still sleepy son’s forehead as he randomly swept the
