The idea that monsters could actually exist in this world had never occurred to Moon He-Ran. She had never entertained the notion until they came to town.

Eight newcomers entered her hometown and were welcomed with open arms. All was well until one night He-Ran was awoken by her older sister.

Hiding under her bed, she watched her sister die at the hands of the newcomers.

They had taken everything from her. Her sister, her family, the residents of her beloved hometown, they were all gone. She was the last survivor. Terrified beyond belief, she fled to America where she took up residence in Los Angeles. It was there that she met Hong Jisoo, better known as Joshua, who she eventually came to love. Now, He-Ran is attempting to forget the past and take up a new life with her boyfriend who just so happens to be a vampire in disguise as a human as well.

But living life normally sure is hard when her past comes back to haunt her in the form of Wen Junhui, one of the stray travelers that slaughtered her town six years ago.
