Proceed and Go

Description

Blackberry picking; July and August,

A reddish-brown coating specks on the tools.

Tools to harvest begin to rust,

Buying new ones just seems so cruel.

To exhilarate and refresh my brain is unfamiliar to me,

Can't I just keep the old tools?

Just one.. two or three?

Everything changing just seems so cruel.

All Qiu needs is her home. Her family house has held her ancestors for generations and generations- until now. Every place tells their stories, stories of hope and fun. But, the government plans to demolish her house in a month, along with the rest of the village for: who the hell knows? This timing is not any good for her family: her parents just lost their jobs, now who's going to pay for the medicine for her sick grand-uncle? Qiu wonders around her town everyday for an entire month imagining her parent's past here, the making of her house and simply wishing for a future for this village. It's just an habit to walk around; to enjoy the picturesque views of fading memories... She holds more and more secrets. She doesn't tell anyone about her relative's health. She doesn't tell anyone about her parents' unemployment. She doesn't tell anyone in school about her sadness. She doesn't tell anyone where she lives- or where she used to live.

As she discovers more about her town, she uncovers strangers' stories and even her family's.
