softer than steel, warmer than copperTzuyu remembers the first time she saw Momo- it was in the practice room; Momo was all smooth lines of muscles and precise dance moves executed with a power that left her a little bit more than in awe, and Tzuyu remembers thinking that she must be made of steel.
But now- Tzuyu scoots closer and buries her face into Momo's shoulder, and Momo tugs the blanket a little tighter around them- Tzuyu thinks that maybe she's made of something softer than steel. Like aluminum. Or copper. (Or maybe gold, she considers as a couple strands of Momo's blonde hair tickles her nose.) Those metals are all softer than steel, aren't they? (Is steel even a part of the periodic table?) Momo's warmth is making her drowsy and Tzuyu wants to drown in it, drown in Momo, and she can't find herself caring about the periodic table or metals or anything else for that matter. (Who cares about the periodic table when there's Momo?)
Tzuyu wraps an arm around Momo's waist and feels as the older girl's stomach muscles go taut under her shirt before relaxing and yeah, Tzuyu can't help but think, Momo is definitely a metal. Maybe not steel (or copper or gold), but a metal that smells like peaches all the time and has really good taste in shampoo. A metal that's uniquely Momo. A Momo metal. (Maybe Tzuyu will be the one to add the Momo element onto the periodic table. Maybe this is how she becomes rich and famous.) (Maybe she should stop thinking and go to sleep already.)
