Alcohol, Crowds and Kisses

Halloween Surprises

It was Friday October 30th and Wonwoo, Mingyu and Minghao were bustling about, getting ready for Junghan and Seungcheol’s Halloween party.

When the idea of a party had first popped up Junghan had eagerly suggested that all of the couples, or trio in their case, dress up in group costumes. The three lovers had decided to dress up as Gareki, Yogi and Nai from the manga Karneval. They had gotten the idea because Mingyu and Seokmin’s bookstore had gotten the first two volumes a few weeks ago and Mingyu had thought it looked interesting and brought both volumes home for his boyfriends to read. Both Wonwoo and Minghao had loved it and they were all currently reading the rest of the chapters online, anticipating the release of the next volume.

It had been pretty easy to gather all of the components for their costumes and Mingyu and Minghao had even picked up some temporary hair color for their costumes: a blonde spray for Mingyu and lavender hair chalk for Minghao.

Mingyu had dragged a chair into their bathroom and was sitting in front of the mirror attempting to start coloring his hair, with no success.

“Aish, why can’t I get it to spray right?!”

He growled and was almost prepared to toss the can across the room when a slender hand gently plucked it from his grasp.

Minghao smiled softly when the brunette tilted his head back to look at him, “How about I help you?”

About five minutes later Mingyu was almost completely blonde but the naturally energetic young man began squirming impatiently as time passed, making Minghao’s task infinitely harder.

“Mingyu, please stop squirming! I’m almost done; just give me one more minute.”

The taller pouted and whined loudly, “You’re so lucky you don’t have to do anything like this for your costume, Wonwoo. It’s torture!

Wonwoo was standing in their bedroom, adjusting the goggles on his head one final time to ensure their placement was perfect, and stepped back from the mirror he was using to glance at the pouting almost-blonde.

“Minghao, you missed a section at the back.”

He chuckled as Mingyu let out a long groan when the younger man moved around the other side of him and began spraying again, “C’mon I’ve been sitting here for ages! You said you were almost done, Ming-ah.”

Minghao let out a soft sigh as the taller continued to complain and shared a look of fond exasperation with Wonwoo before ducking down to press his lips to Mingyu’s, effectively silencing him. They kissed for a long moment and when Minghao pulled back his cheeks and lips were red and Mingyu was looking dazed and content.

The lighter blonde his lips and glanced over at his older lover, who was leaning against the door frame watching them intently, “S-So... I’ll just be one more minute, okay?”

Mingyu just gave a quite nod, placated after the kiss. Soon enough he finished Mingyu’s hair and he was quite pleased with the result, blonde looked good on the taller man.

After letting the spray sit for a few minutes to make sure it dried properly Minghao sent him off to change into his costume. He couldn’t help but blush and watch appreciatively as Mingyu casually stripped off his t-shirt on the way into their bedroom, exposing an attractive expanse of tan skin and firm, sculpted muscle.

He shook himself out his daze and busied himself with pulling out the lilac hair chalk, fumbling as he flipped the package around to read the instructions. Suddenly a broad chest pressed up against his back and strong arms wrapped around his waist, pulling him back into the body behind him.

Warm lips brushed against his ear, “Let me, it’s only fair that someone does your hair after you did Mingyu’s.”

The younger man shivered at Wonwoo’s deep voice so close to his ear and tilted his head back to kiss the older man’s jaw gratefully.

Ten minutes later they were all ready and off to the party.

The trio pulled into Junghan and Seungcheol’s driveway at 10:30 and found that the party was already in full swing. Aside from their usual group of 13, Seungcheol had also invited some people from his work and their significant others.

When they entered the house Wonwoo and Mingyu quickly migrated into the living room to greet the majority of their friends while Minghao went in search of Junghan. He wandered around the hall a little and ended up bumping into Seungcheol.

“Seungcheol-hyung!”

The older man gave him a warm smile and pulled him into a hug, “Hey, Minghao-ah! Your costume looks great.”

“Thanks hyung, so does yours.”

Seungcheol and Junghan had announced that they were dressing up as princes, so the elder man’s costume consisted of a crown, a puffy shirt and a long cape.

“So where can I find Junghan-hyung?”

“I think he’s in the kitchen, that’s where I last saw him heading.”

“Okay thanks hyung!”

Seungcheol smiled as the younger went towards the kitchen and made his way into the mass of bodies in his living room in search of Wonwoo and Mingyu.

Minghao entered the kitchen and found Junghan, Hoshi and Seungkwan standing around the island chatting, all dressed up in their various costumes. He snuck up behind them and pounced on his boss/friend’s back.

“Happy Halloween, Junghan-hyung!”

Junghan chuckled and turned to hug the blonde, “Minghao, wow your costume looks really good. I assume that Wonwoo and Mingyu are in matching attire?”

Minghao nodded, “Of course they are; you should go see theirs, Mingyu’s hair is blonde. They’re in the living room.”

“Yeah, I should be getting out there and greeting our guests anyway. Do you mind helping Hoshi and Seungkwan pour and chill these drinks?”

“Of course not, I’m happy to help.”

And so the long-haired man left the kitchen, not seeing the mischievous look that Hoshi and Seungkwan exchanged.

After the elder left the three friends exchanged pleasant conversation as they poured the drinks. They complimented each other’s costumes as well: Hoshi was a ninja and Seungkwan was dressed as a famous TV host.

After putting the drinks in the fridge to chill the three friends went out into the living room to enjoy the party, mingle and have some of the Halloween themed snacks Junghan had prepared. About half an hour passed and they went back into the kitchen to pull out the tray of drinks.

Hoshi placed the tray on the island and he and Minghao took a seat as Seungkwan grabbed the packet of black straws Junghan left on the counter. They began to place straws in each glass and Hoshi suddenly grinned, “Hey Minghao, why don’t you try one?”

The younger blonde frowned, glancing down at the acid green drink uncertainly, “I dunno... what’s in it?”

Seungkwan waved airily, “Just some fruit, a little food coloring; y’know the usual stuff. It’s really good, Hoshi-hyung and I tried some of the first batch Junghan-hyung made earlier.”

Minghao shrugged and picked up one of the glasses, “Well if Junghan-hyung made it then it must be good!”

He took a small sip at first and when the sweet, slightly tart taste hit his tongue he eagerly downed the rest of the glass, “Wow you’re right, this is really good!”

The blonde reached for another glass, making his friends’ eyes widen, and Hoshi quickly cut in, “Uh Minghao, maybe you should drink that one a little slower.”

The younger man blinked innocently, his cheeks beginning to turn pink, “Why?”

Hoshi fumbled for a reason but Seungkwan smoothly said, “So that you can appreciate the taste more, of course.”

Minghao paused thoughtfully, thinking over the brunette’s logic, before his face broke into a sunny smile, “That makes so much sense! You’re so smart Seungkwannie...”

The Chinese young man closed his eyes and happily sipped at his drink as Seungkwan leaned closer to Hoshi to whisper, “Hyung, exactly how much alcohol did you put in this batch?”

The older man glanced over at Minghao who was looking extremely unsteady in his seat before whispering back, “I put in as much as Junghan told me to, it was only like 2 cups for the whole batch. But come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever seen Minghao drink before. Maybe he can’t handle alcohol?”

The pair watched their swaying friend worriedly, eyes widening again when he polished off his second drink before grabbing another and stood up, declaring, “I miss Wonwoo and Mingyu. I bet they miss me too... I’m gonna go find them!”

They both stuttered nervously and scrambled after the blonde as he made his way into the living room, suddenly reminded of the fact that Minghao had two very big, very protective boyfriends who probably wouldn’t appreciate that they just got their boyfriend drunk. But before they could catch him Seokmin and Jisoo entered the kitchen and struck up a conversation, causing them to lose sight of Minghao as he disappeared into the mass of partygoers.

They both fervently hoped that by the time Wonwoo and Mingyu learned of their involvement in Minghao’s introduction to alcohol they would be far, far away from them.

Minghao stumbled through the living room, keeping a tight hold of his drink so that he didn’t spill a drop. He was looking all around for either of his lovers and was so absorbed in his search that he didn’t notice Jihoon until he literally bumped into him.

It took a moment to steady himself and he began giggling uncontrollably when he caught sight of the smaller man’s pink hair, “Jihoonie-hyung, your hair looks like cotton candy! I love cotton candy, don’t you? It’s so sweet and yummy and it melts in your mouth! Does your hair taste like cotton candy too?”

As he babbled he began to play with the older man’s hair, fluffing the light strands playfully and bursting into giggles when they settled back into place.

Jihoon raised his eyebrows at his friend’s odd behavior, “Minghao-ah... are you alright?”

The blonde giggled, “Of course I’m fine, cotton candy-hyung! Seungkwannie and Hoshi-hyung gave me this delicious drink that Junghannie-hyung made and it’s SO good! You should try it.”

Jihoon suddenly had a sneaking suspicion just why Minghao was acting so giddy and chuckled softly, gently pulling the younger’s hands away from his hair, “I’ll try it, I promise Minghao. Were you looking for someone?”

Minghao’s eyes widened, “I was! I was looking for Wonwoo-hyungie and Mingyu cuz I miss them... I’m gonna go find them now, thanks for reminding me. See you later, cotton candy-hyung!”

Jihoon watched the blonde toddle off into the crowd and shook his head amusedly, “Man, I can’t wait to see Wonwoo and Mingyu’s reaction to this.”

Unbeknownst to him a certain brown haired Korean-American had caught sight of their exchange and had immediately pulled out his cell phone to take pictures when Minghao had started playing with his hair.

Vernon followed Minghao into the crowd for two reasons: 1) to make sure his friend didn’t accidentally hurt himself in his tipsy state and 2) he was never one to pass up an opportunity for getting material to tease his friend with.

Minghao was going to be so fun to tease when he showed him the pictures when he was sober.

After bidding his pink haired friend goodbye Minghao almost immediately found Junhui.

“Junnie-gege!”

He threw himself into the brunette’s arms and nuzzled into his shoulder affectionately. The older man was dressed up as a vampire; he loved vampire dramas so it had been his first choice of costume when the party had come up. He and Minghao had gone shopping together and the younger had helped him pick out the right cape and everything.

Junhui’s eyes widened at his best friend’s sudden appearance and quickly took note of the younger’s flushed cheeks, glazed eyes and the drink in his hand.

“Minghao,” he began gently, “what’s that drink you have there?”

Minghao raised his glass to show the elder and smiled giddily, “It’s a fruity drink that Junghannie-hyung made. Seungkwan and Hoshi-hyung told me to try it and it’s so yummy. Here, try it!”

He pushed the glass into his best friend’s hand and leaned against him, giggling into the taller man’s chest.

Junhui took a small sip of the green beverage and quickly identified the taste of alcohol underneath the fruitiness, “Minghao, how many of these have you had?”

The blonde raised his head and pouted, putting a finger to his lips thoughtfully, “Hmm... I had two when I was in the kitchen with Seungkwan and Hoshi and then this one so... three!

He beamed proudly at his accomplishment while Junhui softly patted his head and sighed, “Okay well I’m gonna cut you off now. Did either of them happen to tell you what’s in this?”

The smaller blinked up at him innocently, giving him his answer.

Junhui couldn’t help but be a little amused, in all the time he’d known Minghao he’d never seen the younger so giddy and carefree. It was rather cute, really.

The blonde suddenly pushed away from his chest, “I have to find Wonwoo and Mingyu, I wanna kiss...”

Before Junhui could make a move to stop him a group of Seungcheol’s work friends separated them causing Minghao to get lost in the crowd once more. The brunette chuckled at the thought of how Wonwoo and Mingyu would react to the usually shy and sweet Minghao’s uncharacteristic behavior. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of Vernon following in Minghao’s direction with his phone out and shook his head in fond exasperation. He was entirely certain that the younger was getting plenty of shots of the blonde’s antics and had plans to show them to him when the weekend was over.

Oh poor Minghao when he saw those pictures.

It had taken Minghao almost 15 minutes but he had finally found Wonwoo and Mingyu!

He spotted the tall faux-blonde first and threw himself at his broad back, shouting, “Mingyu!!”

Mingyu startled when a slender body hit his back and long, thin arms wrapped around his waist in a tight hug. He peered over his shoulder at Minghao, who was nuzzling his face into the back of his shirt, and sent Wonwoo a confused stare.

The older man was also startled by their lover’s sudden appearance but he calmly moved to pry the younger from Mingyu’s back, “Hey Minghao, where have you been?”

The blonde’s head popped up at the sound of Wonwoo’s deep voice and he quickly launched himself into the dark-haired man’s arms. The elder caught his slight frame easily as he began to chatter, “Wonwoo-hyungie I missed you! I missed both of you! I came looking for you cuz I wanted kisses and Seungkwannie and Hoshi-hyung told me to try these yummy drinks... They were so good! Junnie-gege took my last one away though and-”

The younger continued to ramble against Wonwoo’s chest as his boyfriends took notice of the telltale redness of his cheeks and the bubbly giggles on top of the general loudness of his voice, very uncharacteristic of the usually quiet blonde, and quickly came to a conclusion: Minghao was drunk.

The pair shared an amused look and couldn’t help but laugh softly as Minghao pouted up at them and began cutely berating them for not listening to him.

The amusement disappeared when Minghao suddenly and enthusiastically grabbed Wonwoo by the collar of his shirt and pulled him into a passionate kiss. The elder responded instinctively, deepening the kiss and gripping the blonde’s hips to pull him flush against his chest.

Mingyu’s throat went dry as he watched his lovers make out for a long moment before they pulled apart to catch their breaths. Wonwoo’s eyes were dark and hungry and Minghao clung to his shirt, gazing up at him with pleasure-glazed eyes, looking flushed and pretty.

The dark-haired man cleared his throat before practically growling, “Mingyu go to the kitchen and get a bottle of water. We’re going home now.

The taller hastily took off towards the kitchen, all too eager to get their lover semi-sober and in their bed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Wonwoo wrapped a possessive arm around Minghao, using every ounce of his control to keep walking as the younger nuzzled and kissed his throat. He made his way to the front door, shouldering through the crowd while keeping Minghao as close as possible, much to the blonde’s enjoyment. Mingyu met them at the door with a water bottle in hand and soon they were in their car, making record time home.

Mingyu sat in the back with Minghao and by the time Wonwoo pulled into their driveway they were both half and Minghao was straddling the taller man’s lap. The second the front door closed behind them they made a beeline for their bedroom, shedding the remainder of their clothes as they went. Wonwoo kicked the bedroom door shut as he dove in to kiss Mingyu, the three lovers losing themselves in each other.

Thank God they lived in a neighborhood where the houses were spaced far apart.

It was a normal Monday morning in Shining Diamond Bakery as Junghan went about his usual morning routine before opening the store, wondering silently to himself if a certain blonde Chinese young man would be showing up for the day.

Hansol had come up to him towards the end of his Halloween party and handed him his cell phone, already open to his gallery. As he’d flipped through the images the younger man had said, “Seungkwan and Hoshi-hyung got Minghao-hyung drunk. Wonwoo and Mingyu took him home about five minutes ago; they looked like they were in quite the hurry.”

When he came to the pictures of Minghao and his lovers Junghan had come to the conclusion that Minghao would be very embarrassed and very sore when he sobered up.

The mass text that came from Wonwoo later that night that said, “If anyone comes over to our house in the next 24 hours I suggest you knock unless you wanna get an eyeful” only cemented his suspicions.

(A follow-up text came from Mingyu on Saturday afternoon that said, “It’s safe to come over now, your eyes are no longer in danger. Minghao’s a little busy being sick though so we’re not really up for company. And to Hoshi and Seungkwan, Wonwoo and I are going to be having a long talk with you the next time we see you.”)

As the long-haired man began to fill the front display case with bagels and other breakfast items Minghao entered the shop.

Junghan immediately noticed the slight paleness lingering in the younger’s face, the dark bruises (obviously lovebites) trailing down from his neck into his shirt and his unsteady, slightly limping walk. Minghao kept his gaze glued firmly to the floor as he went behind the counter but blushed when the older man patted his head sympathetically.

“How about you just stay in the kitchen and take it easy today? I’ll get Jihoon to help me with the customers.”

The younger’s cheeks darkened further but he gave his friend a grateful smile, “T-Thank you, Junghan-hyung.”

The elder just gave him a gentle smile in return and shooed him into the kitchen.

And so Minghao spent the rest of the day tucked away in the kitchen baking and periodically blushing whenever Hansol and Jihoon made any mention of the party or pulled out the pictures the youngest had taken.

(He’d had a perfect recollection of what had happened when he’d woken up on Saturday with a killer headache and his two very boyfriends sprawled on either side of his own equally as body.)

Happy Halloween, indeed.

Happy Halloween everybody! I plan to spend my day basking in the Halloween-ness of it all (and wearing my special Halloween slipper-socks) and then spend the evening giving out candy to trick-or-treaters and maybe watching a Halloween movie. Plus, y'know, eating candy. Hope everyone has a great day!

I really liked writing this one because I got to put another spin on this ship; the first oneshot was really fluffy, the second was more angsty and this one was a little more on the mature side, hinting at another part of their relationship. I'm most likely never going to write a full on M-rated fic so stuff like this is the closest I'll get. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this one! If you guys have any ideas for future oneshots for these three then leave them in the comments and I'll gladly take them under consideration. Thanks for reading, subscribing and/or commenting!
