Your phone buzzed. Knowing who it was, you picked it up and rolled your eyes, smiling.

Hey Y/N! I’m coming to pick you up. Be there in 10mins, be ready!

Junior and you had been planning a beach date for a while. It was near sunset, and you were wearing a sundress over your favorite swimsuit. On your kitchen counter, your beach bag was packed and ready to go, filled with snacks, sunscreen, your towel, and extra clothes. Junior was in charge of bringing the food, and drinks in a cooler. This is going to be so much fun!

Junior arrived driving a company car, since he didn’t have his own as yet. The sunroof was open, so he popped his head out and texted you.

I’m here! Lets gooooo.

In no more than a minute, you were able to make it out the door. You walked as slowly as you could, just to get him annoyed - a bag on one shoulder and the other arm carrying an umbrella. The path from your front door to the street wasn’t even that long, but you made it seem like it was. He was shouting at you to hurry up.

When you finally got opened the passenger door after leading your umbrella in the back seat, he complained, “Finally! You were taking two years. We might miss the sunset.” You stuck your tongue out playfully. “All set?” He asked.

“I think so! Are you?” You asked back. He nodded positively, and put the car in drive. The song playing was one of the top hits for the month, View by Shinee. Soon, both you were singing along with the members. Him in perfect harmony, you were almost a close second, though. The rest of the way there, the playlist he made played throughout. It was the perfect summer playlist, especially for going to the beach.

As soon as you reached, you got out of the car and took a deep breath in. Ah, the smell of the salt and sand and the waves…just right. Meanwhile, Junior was getting the cooler and a basket with the food he made. When he finished, he lead you on to the beach to find a good spot to set your things.

“Right here is a good spot,” he said, pointing to a place not too far from the water. You nodded in agreement, and helped him to set up. While you lay the towels out, he put the umbrella so that it covered them. You sat down with your legs spread out, and started to put on sunscreen. When Junior saw you, he put some on his hand, but didn’t plan on using it for himself.

“Hey Y/N, you missed a spot.” As you turned around to see where he was talking about, he swiped his finger, with a huge amount of sunscreen, across your cheek. You gaped at him for a few seconds before grabbing the bottle of sunscreen to get back at him.

Despite your efforts to look genuinely mad, you couldn’t help but laugh.

“야! Park Jinyoung! I will get back at you for this!” You stuck your tongue out at him.

He sarcastically said, “Okay, Y/N…sure.” You made a promise to yourself that you would indeed get back at him. Junior now peacefully put sunscreen on himself. As he was doing so, you reached into his picnic basket to see what he brought. Once you stuck your head in, you saw that he packed a feast for kings - kimbap, japchae, sandwiches, among a bunch of other foods.

“Did you make all of this yourself? Yesterday?” you questioned.

“Well, I had Yugyeom’s help making the kimbap, but other than that, yes I made it myself, yesterday.” You couldn’t help but hug him out of gratefulness.

“Thank you! You’re the best,” you said aloud and then whispered, “JYP.” He shook his head at how funny you thought you were. What am I going to do with her?

You ate your lunch while watching the waves calmly going in and out from shore. It was a nice and relaxing sight to see, considering that you both needed a break from the stresses of life. Today was just perfect for doing that sort of thing.

You two conversed of how beautiful it was and how you’d have to do it again sometime soon. Then Junior started talking about the book he was reading and how interesting it was. Most of the time, you don’t take interest in the books he’s reading for yourself, but you liked listening to him talk about it. He had the sort of passion that made his eyes light up.

When he finished giving you a summary of what’s happened so far, you wanted to go play in the water for a little bit.

“I’m going to go in, are you coming?”

“In a little bit, I’m going to try and read a little bit,” he replied, pulling a book out of nowhere. You wondered where on earth he puts so many books.

As you were in the water, playing by yourself and enjoying the sun, you watched Junior reading, turning each page carefully. He looked so nice and at rest. Not for longer! You remembered that you still had to get back at him, but now wasn’t the time. You decided to wait just a few more minutes.

When he finished reading a section of his book, he got up and walked until where the sand met the water. He watched you play like a kid in the water, just splashing around.

“Come in and play with me! Pleaaase?” you begged.

“Fine,” he sighed, “but only a little bit.” As you pulled him in deeper into the water, you initiated your plan. You were cute and swimming around with him at first, but when time came around, you splashing water his way.

“Hey, wait! That’s no fair! 야, 야 야아아아!” he started to splash back at you. You ran back on shore to the safety of your towel. He returned looking defeated.

“We’re even now, right?” you smiled deviously.

“Yeah, I guess so,” he grumbled and then whispered, “but I will always win,” in your ear. You got chills from the sound of his voice. How could someone so cute be so… mischievous?

You looked up and saw that the sky was pink, mixed with purples and blues. As you sat down with your towel wrapped around you, Junior brought out two small ice cream cups from his mini cooler. He got you your favorite flavor, and he did the same for himself as well.

While eating his ice cream, he noticed you admiring the sky.

“Beautiful.”

“Right? I love how all the colors blend toge-”

“I didn’t mean the sky,” he said, continuing to casually eat his ice cream as if what he just said wasn’t totally cheesy.

“That was so lame!”

“But you’re still blushing!” he retorted. You had to turn away so he wouldn’t see how much more red your face had gotten.

“It really is a perfect day, huh? Here with you, enjoying ourselves and relaxing. It’s nice.” He faced you, waiting for you to look back.

“Yeah, if only we could do this all the time,” you complained.

“Well, that’s what makes them more valuable.” You turned to face him. He looked at you with admiration, making you go red again.

“H-hey, stop looking at me like that,” you stuttered.

“Why? Because you’re blushing so much? But I like yooou,” he sang what you already knew. He then looked at your lips and back up to your eyes. You leaned closer and touched noses with him.

“Watcha lookin’ at?” you asked quietly.

“A pretty lady.”

“Awh, I’m jealous,” you pouted, turning your head away. Junior lifted your chin with his hand and brought your eyes back.

“Don’t be.” He closed the gap between the two of you with his lips. Your eyelids fell and you willingly gave in.

After a few seconds that felt like forever, you pulled back.

He looked at you lovingly.

“Hey there, my pretty lady.”

He held your hands in his and walked back to the car together. It was just right.
