A trip to Korea sounded like a great idea to you. You would get to enjoy the cuisine, the culture, and the scenery. Coming with you was supposed to be your best friend. However, when you passed security, you received a message.

내 친구 ~  [my friend]
sorry y/n! i caught a really bad cold this weekend. i’ll catch a flight tomorrow! 

You freaked out a little inside. I’m supposed to ride on the plane alone? This would be one of your first times traveling alone, and it was completely thrown on you. You checked your phone to see how much time was left before the flight. An hour and a half. Okay Y/n, let’s calm down and get some coffee.

Walking towards the terminal, you encountered a huge lounging area for passengers to use before taking off. Looking around, you saw one of your favorite coffee stores and decided to head there.

The line wasn’t terribly long, and when you were next on line, you already knew what you were going to order. As you waited patiently for your drink, you looked around for any available seats. Unfortunately, all of them were taken, and mostly by singles. I know it’s awkward but I wish people would be less selfish and make room for others!

The barista called out your name to alert you that your drink was ready. You picked up your drink and looked around once more, just to confirm that there were indeed no spots you could take.

Little did you know that someone was watching you. He saw you walk in and was astounded by your beauty. He just thought you were so pretty. He also noticed that you were looking for somewhere to sit, and he had just the idea.

You were about to walk to the gate with your coffee and wait there, but he called out to you.

"Excuse me, you can sit here.” You followed the direction of the voice and saw a young guy with headphones in his ear. He had black hair that swept right above his eyes, which were one of his soft features. You had to admit, he was cute. I guess it won’t hurt to sit with him.

“Thank you.” When you smiled in gratitude, he blushed slightly but tried to keep it cool.

“My name is Youngjae,” he said with an accent. You hesitated for a moment, trying to figure out where from, but decided to approach the question from a different angle.

“My name is Y/n. It’s nice to meet you Youngjae. Thanks for offering me a seat, it’s really full here…” you paused for a second before asking, “So, where are you traveling to?”

“Er, I am going to Korea.”

“No way! Same here! I’m going to visit with one of my friends.”

“Oh really? I live there, in Korea. Sorry my English is not good, that’s why.”

“No worries! I’ll keep the conversation light,” you assured him. And that’s how you spend your time before it was time to board the plane, When you two heard the announcement on the intercom, a sadness came over you both.

Before saying final goodbyes, Youngjae asked, “Do you have a LINE or Kakao Talk? Maybe we can meet in Korea and I can show you around.”

You broke into a wide grin. “That sounds like a plan. Here, let me write it in your phone.”

…

Even though Youngjae and you were on the same flight, you didn’t get to see each other much since there were so many passengers. Even when you landed and grabbed your luggage off the conveyor belt, you still didn’t get to see him.

After checking in to a hotel you and your friend planned to stay at during your trip, you received a message. You expected it to be from your friend, checking on you, but instead Youngjae’s name displayed on your screen.
