When you made your way to the practice room, you had butterflies in your stomach. He’s just a sunbae, and this is just a dance. You tried to convince yourself numerous amounts of times that this is just a dance, and means nothing more than that, but your heart thought otherwise.

About a week ago, you were paired with Yugyeom of GOT7 to do a couple dance for Sunmi’s 24 hours. The two of you, along with two other pairs were going to dance for a small part in the song as backup dancers. Meanwhile, Sunmi would be singing her heart out on stage. Yugyeom has done the dance with her before, but has never done it with anyone else. You still had to learn the whole thing.

Today was the first practice until the special stage. Since the other pairs were in different companies, and you and Yugyeom were both in JYP, the first few practices were to be for the individual pairs. Only for the last practice would everyone dance together. When you were notified it would only be you and Yugyeom today, it added to your sinking gut feeling. Please don’t be overly embarrassing today. You pleaded to yourself repeatedly, hoping that you wouldn’t be too much of a failure today. Oh, well.

Walking in two minutes early, you see a tall figure with blonde hair freestyling in the mirror, with his back faced to you. You walked in and stayed standing next to his left side. He looked at you, and went back to dancing. A few seconds after, he stopped mid step and paused the music.

“I am so sorry, I saw you there but it didn’t register in my head that you werethere. Like I mean I saw you, but I kind of overlooked it. Wait, no, I don’t mean-”

“It’s okay, it happens to me too.” You decided the help the guy out, since he was obviously flustered.

‘You’re really good’ you wanted to say. You held back from saying anything too extra so you wouldn’t make a fool out of yourself. Remembering that you didn’t introduce yourself, you bowed and did so.

“안녕하세요! I’m Y/N.” He bowed back at a slighter angle and waved.

“I’m Yugyeom, as you may already know.”

Just as you finished meeting each other, the dance instructor walked in.

“Hello, I will be teaching you two the parts for Sunmi’s dance today. Are you ready?”

“네,” you both answered.

Learning the dance seemed simple enough, until you had to add in the footwork. You were tripping over your own feet, sometimes stepping on Yugyeom’s feet and at other times, just completely forgetting to move. You couldn’t stop apologizing for what an unprofessional mess you were being, but what was the instructor to do?

In the midst of your great practice, you saw the instructor check his phone.

“Hey guys, so I have to go meet another group right now. Yugyeom, you know the dance right?” he nodded, “Then can you help Y/N out until we meet next?” His eyes widened

“Uh, sure 형.” He left the room, leaving you and Yugyeom alone.

“Should we try going through the whole thing once?” you asked him.

“Let’s give it a try.” This time, you were a little improved. A little. You still were fumbling over a few parts, but it was only the first practice, right? You were sure to get it down by the next one.

“I think I just need some time…” you mumbled with your head down.

“I know you’re a good dancer, you’re the best in your group! I’ve seen you dance, so how come you can’t get it down today?” He asked you, sounding a little down.

“I may just…” he leaned in to hear your reply, “a little nervous.” Yugyeom tilted his head in confusion.

“Nervous? Why? That makes no sense! It was just you, the dance instructor, and me,”

“Yeah, you!” You covered your mouth, regretting what just came out of your mouth.

Yugyeom waited a while before asking, “What about me?”

You pouted, frustrated at yourself. I guess now I have to tell him…

“You’re my favorite member of GOT7, and I was really nervous to hear I would be paired up with you.” You sighed, disappointedly. Now what’s he going to do? He might request for a different partner…

He laughed. You looked at him, confused. Why is he laughing? He must think I’m just a little rookie.

“Me too!” Wait, what?

“I like you too! I watched your since your debut, and I noticed you out of the other members. I didn’t think you would actually like me too,” he grinned.

“Heh, yeah,” you said. There was an awkward silence between the two of you, until you spoke up.

“I still have to get this dance down. Maybe I’ll practice it individually tomorrow,” you sighed, defeatedly.

“No, we’ll get it down today. I promise. How about after practice, we get dinner? And as for now, I am your teacher,” he said, determined.

“네, 선생님!” [Yes, teacher!] you replied with a new confidence.
