Jessica POV

I've never given much thought on to how I should die. But dying in a place of someone I love.... seems like a good way to go.

So... I can't bring myself to regret the decision to leave home.

I would miss Phoenix. I'd miss the heat. I would miss my loving, erratic, harebrained mother.... and her new husband.

"Guys come on! I love you both! We have a plane to catch!"

But they want to go on the road. So I'm gonna spend my time with my dad.

And......this will be a good thing.....I think.

In the state of Washington, under a near constant cover of clouds and rain, there's a small town named, Forks.

Population, 3,120 people.

This is where I'm moving.

My dad's John. He's the chief of police.

"Your hair's longer."

"I cut it since the last time I saw you."

"Oh.....guess it grew out again."

At the House

I used to spend two weeks here every summer. But it's been years.

"I cleared some shelves in the bathroom."

"Oh right, one bathroom."

I looked around the room. There hasn't much changed. 

"Ok I should go now. Call me when you need anything."

"Ok"

While I was scanning the room I heard a car beep from outside so I looked outside the window and saw 2 familiar faces. I went downstairs and went outside.

"Jessica, you remember Kevin Kwon."

"Yeah! Wow, your looking good."

"Well I'm still dancing. I'm glad that your finally here. John here hasn't shut up talking about you ever since he found out that you were coming."

"Alright no need to say that. I'll throw you in the mud puddles."

"Oh yeah well you can't do that if I do that first eh?"

They start playing around. 

The other person who was with Mr. Kwon approached me. He had long hair and had dark skin compared to mine.

"Hi, I'm Yuri."

"Hey."

"We used to make mud pies when were little."

"Right. No, I remember. Are they always like this?"

"It's getting worse with old age."

The two came back.

"So what do you think?" My dad asked while he pats the truck next to us.

"What?"

"Your homecoming present."

"This?!"

"Just bought it off Kevin here."

"Yep."

"I totally rebuilt the engine for you." said Yuri

"OH MY GOSH! This is perfect! Are you kidding?"

"I told you she'd love it! I'm down with the kids."

"Oh yeah dude! Your the bomb!"

Yuri teaches Jessica about the truck.

"Do you want to go to school with me?"

"Uh.. I go to school on reservation."

"Oh that's too bad. It'll be nice to know at least one person."

Jessica goes to school.

My first day in a new school. It's March, middle of the semester. Great!"

As I entered the school, I looked at my schedule.
