Shrines were introduced to Korea in the early 1900’s as part of the Japanese occupation, and although the government at the time stressed that the ceremonies held were purely for nationalism and had no hold in religion, gods were still formed with each new shrine. After the war, many of the shrines were torn down or burned - only a scattered few remained, in varying states of disrepair as the gods disappeared with the dwindling visitors. It's just Jimin'
