Chapter 23: I finally get to read this whole fic til the latest chapter, and this is DEFINITELY one of my most favorite fic ever. This is THAT good. You did it again! Wow.
I literally lost myself in the World of Balance again as I read this. Well, I didn't actually play FFVI myself, but I watched my brother played it in the past, so it's very familiar and nostalgic lol. The way you wrote this makes the readers so immersed and invested in the story.
Though I assume the characters here were based from the original FFVI characters, you managed to wrote each of them distinctly while still portraying each different ~kpop idols~ quirks for this fic. Made the reading experience more fun xD
I guess Wendy is Terra in this story? Then she's really part human part esper, rather than a product of Heechul's experiment.
It's heartbreaking to read about Irene and Wendy's struggles in life. They only had each other til Irene was tricked.
And now Wendy didn't remember Irene. That's very sad. I hope she would regain her memory soon.
Seulgi is a refreshing character. Her positive outlook sure is a welcomed sight amongst the dire war. Her affinity to wear wide brimmed hat is cute though haha
Seulgi was so careful and soft around Wendy, despite knowing that she's the Witch. Aww I hope they would get along well.
I totally agree with Yeri being Locke and Joy being Edgar ^^
Guess Yeri is searching for Phoenix to revive Saeron?
But in the last chapters I think we can all see that there might be something going on between Joy and Yeri, if they would ever acknowledge it.
I wonder who will bear the Phoenix magicite? Yeri? Since she has this affinity to be the field medic? Or maybe Seulgi? Maybe she got a hidden magic line in the family?
What's going to happen between Irene and Seulgi after this.. And Wendy too. I wonder what Irene's true feelings for Wendy is. Is it platonic and familial? Or romantic? Pretty sure their bond runs deeply since they're the only person who could understand the other.

I'm left wondering whether or not Wendy will ever regain her memory? I hope she does but at the same time, it may be better for her to start fresh and not have the memory of murdering thousands of people...
I hope Irene tells Seulgi about her relationship with Wendy though - better to be honest I feel and if Seulgi finds out from someone else I'm thinking her understanding and patient nature would be pushed to a limit.
Seulgi was super cute though, especially at the end with the food and with making sure Irene ate - like legit adorable :)

Wendy looks so lost but at the same time has her place. It is perfectly described to see her so lost but sure of herself and calm but also worried. It’s mixed feelings
Irene on the other hand is totally shaken and doesnt know what to do, it changes to see disturbed like that and it's very pleasant to read
Seulgi is equal to herself. Wears her heart on her sleeve, and gives full attention to Irene and her new friends.
It's always surprising to see so many people from different groups getting perfect together as well. And there is a MOG. A MOG HARO !!!! It's perfect, I'm in love. We had a very calm and quiet advance and I fear the worst for the rest of the events. It's like a break before the war comes back stronger and more aggressive. As always you take me in your story and make me fall in love with this universe. When you tell the story it looks so simple but at the same time so complex? Despite all the information you write, it doesnt take the lead and we dont lose. We manage to follow easily while having a well composed history. Always amazed by your work

Chapter 23: i'm on the FLOOR right now. i was about to go to sleep when the aff notification popped up and i almost threw my phone lmao. at the first paragraphs i was already beaming, and when they picked up the remains of the crown i could only think EUNJI YOU GENIUS. OH MY GOD. "i love you. i'm sorry" YOU DID GREAT BABY DON'T BE SORRY. i know i went on for like hours about wendy's death but i was so god damn relieved. and THEN we have SEULGI holding wendy all the way through it. and when irene saw everyone around wendy caring for her eUGH MY HEART. irene who sacrificed so much for wendy and was always scared everyone would HATE her because she was The Witch, and then she sEES EVERYONE TENDING TO HER DESPITE ALL. i die. and WENDY DOESN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING. i can't figure out if this is for the best or for the worst. poor child, how damaging must that crown be, and she's just USED to not remembering stuff to a POINT IRENE CAN NOTICE IT EUHGUBEHU I'M NOT OK. but sEULGI THOUGH. "don't be frightened". and carrying wendy around. and wendy holding onto and clinging to her fEELING SAFE I CAN'T TAKE IT

joy being so perceptive to suspect eunji shot the crown on purpose was also a+ i forgot to mention.
that little moment between moonbyul and wendy was so nice too. it was LITERALLY byul warming up to her and i CAN'T FCKING TAKE IT
and then we have the moogles!! i was like THAT'S MOG I MADE HIM DANCE. they were so cute and entertaining. i can't really remember reading any fanfics that had moogles in them and even though they look quite silly, your descriptions were so well done that it makes them look not that dumb? i can't even explain. also the intro to jungwha was so nice. i just love every ING CHARACTER IN THIS GOD DAMN
them meeting up with the crew was so funny too like they gOT ARRESTED BY THE MOOGLES THAT'S SO LIKE THEM. and then byul dEFENDING WENDY pls just end my entire life. i was like choking up at "what about somi" and then laughing at yooa just wanting to beat byul's instead of wendy's. please i love them.
and SO we are going back around seulgi's village!! sEULGI WAS EXCITED ABT IT I CRY. but a town with the remnants of magic users :o this is gonna be Plot Time. i'm eXCITED. i mean every chapter is Plot Time but you uNDERSTAND
and then we have my cause of death that was the interaction between irene and wendy like why not just come to my house and stab me instead? irene being upset at how wendy is USED to forget things, and her realization that weNDY DOESN'T KNOW WHO SHE IS. i'm just. i need some time. like so much of who irene is now was because of what she did to protect wendy and WENDY DOESN'T REMEMBER WHO SHE IS. that hurted
but then comes the ever reliable seulgi to wARM MY HEART WANTING TO REASSURE IRENE THAT THEY *WILL* PROTECT WENDY. and we get to see that she cared for wendy even though she didn't even KNOW she was being mind controlled, from her surprise after irene explains the crown to her.
AND THEN WE GET IRENE THINKING OF HOW SHE'S PROUD OF EUNJI, when in the beginning of the chapter she legit thought eunji had taken everything from her. pleas
also irene musing about eunji's motives. ehe.
i'm not ready but i probably am ready for the true nature of wenrene's relationship surfacing. to seulgi. seulgi cared for wendy so much here and she knows she's important to irene and she will think about how they are so much more alike for being connected to magic and how much they went through together while seulgi is just a chocobo rancher who wouldn't even be here if not for some random chance. like none of this will happen but i am thinking about it and it's gonna be mess either way and i am Going To Die

Chapter 22: i need to lie down for a moment oh my god...
i wanna talk about the whole of the story but i'm gonna say, this chapter was so well built in a tension perspective like, how my chest constricted more and more as i read, waiting for how things would develop, if they would hurt wendy, if wendy would hurt them... and then the end, the release of the tension. i felt like irene. like i just need to lie down here and ing. suffer. and eunji oh my god how must she be feeling wtf. i mean it makes sense, what she did, because that's the one single guaranteed way the empire couldn't have wendy, but it's so ing painful. (if that is really what happened i mean we can hope right? i don't really know the story you're basing this from aside from some parts bc when you like videogames you're just. bound to know. but now i feel compelled to research and spoil myself but i also don't want to do it and experience it first hand idk i'm rambling)
i really loved how in this chapter irene finally went and said "it's wendy", after correcting herself so many times throught the story. and it makes it all so much more painful when stuff happens :) i love everything
EHEM okay after wendy sad hours here, i will start by saying that i was initially put off from reading this story because i thought i would get lost on the lore lmao... the only FF i ever played was FFXIII and it was such a mess for me, but maybe it was not my fault after all because i could follow your story so easily even with all the weird names i never saw before (or maybe i was too young idk. what this means is i am not prejudiced against FF anymore! it even kinda made want to play it even if i'm at rpg games...). as i said in my other comment the pacing is just top notch, i really liked the act structure and the intermission too. i felt like that was the exact point in the story we needed that insight back into the past, to understand irene better. ah, irene. such an amazing character here. i mean everyone is so well built in that regard but i really really really love how you're developing her (and even if wendy is in fact alive later, her being dead now will be such a big step in her development, so that's why wendy sad hours become satisfied with character development hours) (i should stop talking about how i think it was a boss move to kill wendy i'm ing sad about it but it was so impactful god DAMN) i also really love joy and yeri. joy's flashback was one of my favorite parts, and obviously the god damn ing chainsaw scene. like everytime there was a BRRRRRRRR after that you got me cackling because i can literally VISUALIZE it. SM please buy park sooyoung a chainsaw. yeri too, she was so great, funny as obv but what is more noticeable to me about her is her rage, it was always so powerful and palpable. the reveal on why she seeks revenge is probably gonna break me into one million tiny pieces. (probably something to do with saeron? i remember her being mentioned when they were with her old crew and it was only there once... i will wait for it i am curious. ready to suffer for the baby) i really love moonbyul too, all her act and her competing with irene was incredible njnsnjns her power though, like i don't kNOW this specific lore but i've seen this luck based dice power before somewhere else (will not disclose to preserve my reputation) but if it's anything like that.... holy that's powerful, game changing powerful. i also really like how she acts all worry free because shes the captain but has sadness inside her (also waiting for that reveal to suffer mayb? am i masochist?) and okay the scene where she told seulgi somi fell i was on the verge of actually crying for real
this comment is so ing huge already but it's 22 chapters i have so much to say!! i should have commented each chapter i'm so dumb!! seulgi's integration into the group was so amazingly well done, how they all want to protect her but at the same time see her as an invaluable asset. and SEULGI, seulgi who always tries her best, training alone, seulgi afraid to kill people because slaying monsters is one thing but /peopĺe/, and then irene has to pry her of a dead soldier because she's so angry, she's so sad, her brother is gone, and she has to something. the evolution of seulrene's relationship though, is like, the star of the show. it was so endearing to watch irene being annoyed at seulgi for being cute and at herself for thinking she was cute, like pUTTING HER HAND ON SEULGI'S FACE TO COVER HER SMILE NKNSNJNDSN. that whole sequence with boko was so cute. OKAY I CHANGED MY MIND, BOKOSEULRENE LOVE TRIANGLE IS THE STAR OF THE SHOW because whenever boko is with them we get the best moments. i love how boko just ing ditched his life long best friend seulgi for irene like... and seulgi being pissed about it. and then boko being pissed at seulgi back because how dare you get irene's attention it's mine? it's just peak comedy. specially taking into account how HUGE a chocobo is like oh my god. but it's also so sweet how irene felt this sort of bond with boko even if she doesn't like animals. i love so much. EVERYTHING IS SO GREAT. I FEEL LIKE I'M FORGETTING SO MUCH THAT I WANNA SAY BUT THIS IS ALREADY SO HUGE THAT I'M GONNA FINISH IT UP HERE. i saw on twitter that you're writing the new chapter so i hope that this gives u a bit of energy to do it!! aaah great job, i love your stories so much.
Chapter 8: i was gonna leave it to comment about everything when i got to the last chapter but the chainsaw scene made me let out a laugh so loud people came to check on me to see if i was ok omg so i just had to say it lmao. i will talk about everything im loving about this in more proper terms when i get to the end but i just gotta compliment the pacing up until now, like god damn everything is flowing slowly but still with purpose, its not like its just going around and around just to make time, everything is happening for a reason, every detail feels like it has a point and i love so much. ok now im gonna continue reading o/ grEAT JOB (OH ALSO the part where seulgi reaches for irenes hand over boko i am DIE)
Chapter 22: What a sombre atmosphere at the start. I feel like the different reactions Byul's crewmates had made this scene even more painful. Yooa's disbelief and insistence that Somi's not dead was heartbreaking.
I love the entire scene with Boko and Seulrene. Beautiful buildup of setting and atmosphere. I like the realisations Seulgi and Irene had in the scene. It's so interesting to see Irene asking Seulgi about the life in Mobliz and Seulgi explaining things to her. If we don't think about the war, life is so much simpler for the two of them, with Seulgi back to being whoever she was before, and Irene not having to think about her role as a general. I like the repetition of the sentence 'Do you always think about fighting?'. Seulgi's really cute in broaching the topic of Irene raising chocobos. Boko is the cutest! I really like how you write Boko~
I enjoyed reading the details about Narshe like its setting (really beautiful description of the cave and the phoenix there), and the Returners' journey to find Leeteuk. The tiny bits of humour is a nice touch before the fighting scene. I really felt nervous for them when their pathways were blocked. I could hear Irene's thoughts so clearly because they were just so loud. Irene had quite a lot to lose during the fight, especially when it comes to Wendy, seeing that the rest do not know exactly who Wendy is to Irene. Leeteuk is so infuriating ahaha. What an amazing fight scene. It was quite a long scene but I felt so invested and highly engaged reading it! I loved this part: '"Aren't we all just following orders?" Eunji asked quietly.' and Joy's reply to her. What I really like about the fighting scene is that there are so many characters involved in it, but they are all almost equally shown and it doesn't seem messy.
Poor Irene. I really feel for her in the paragraph which starts with 'Irene didn't answer.' I laughed at her calling Byul 'ace idiot of the skies' though ahaha. I felt this immense sadness for Irene when she corrected Joy by referring to Wendy as that and not as the Witch. I feel bad for Eunji too. But what in the world, that ending? Wendy can't be dead?!

can we see irene going into a full in-depth analysis/breakdown over how the only thing she thinks about is fighting? high-key wanna see if she can really accept/overcome the fact that she was born a weapon or some stuff like that
hit me with that wenseulrene drama. i can feel it coming put me out of my misery please—
none of the returners know about irene's past with wendy and i doubt she'll actually tell them, i wonder how the others would react if one of them 'stumbled' across the memories of her past, mostly yeri.
anyways your writing is as lit as always and honestly it takes me an immense amount of patience to read a fight scene, but you've written it so smoothly?? that it was pleasant (it's not the appropriate word to use but you get what i mean) to read.
((wendy didn't die ok. i will not be fooled.))
