How do you normally separate scenes in your stories?

I've been writing for awhile, but until now, I haven't written too many stories with many scenes in the chapters. How do you normally split the scenes so there is not confusion? :D

@EnchanteurW Wow, so much detail :o Thank you for your dedication for your editing! ^^ I just went with the asterisks while finding a good way to end the scene rather than just cutting to the next one.
Thank you!! :D

As I write a drama script, I try to do it as one writes a scenario/screenplay.
So, everything is divided into scenes (and not enough of them by the way).
Change of scene every time there is a change of place or time.
Example: a character discusses in a house, then goes out and goes into the garden. A scene change takes place at this time.
Sometimes I cut a scene that takes place in the same place, if I find it too long. I'm afraid it's not a good professional practice, but I don't know.
At best, a scene is an episode in itself.
There is an exposition of an issue, the development, and the conclusion (with a meaning or suspense at stake). The conclusion of a scene is better if it catches the reader's attention to the story.

If it's different setting scenes and has some time between, I use dividers, not very eye-catching, just enough for readers to notice. If it's a scene that is happening at the same time that I want to show that they're connected somehow, then I just write them without any dividers, just spacing between paragraphs but make sure to make it clear in your writing to reader that it's two different places that is happening at the same time and they would merge into one.

@Nah_Duh I understand the Word portion, the strips don't click for me lol XD
It seems like I have to experiment with everyone's styles tho, and see which I like the best. Maybe I'll do a combo of sorts.

I use this: -- i usually write stories with m. word so the strips will connect (idk how do i explain this? Hahah)

@KwonJiyongsWaifu Hopefully readers won't be annoyed of how many scenes I have in a chapter, but there are already too many chapters - it'd probably annoy them more having to read more chapters. >.<'
Thank you for the suggestion! =^.^=

Usually by a line break like this ------------ some will use pretty fancy dividers

@MissMinew Ahh, I see. Because there might be something happening in the meanwhile, and I don't want to keep saying meanwhile. Thank you so much for the help! <3 =^.^=

Unless there’s time jumps of some sort I just make new paragraphs. Sometimes I make a double space between new paragraphs to indicate something new happening or I put *** or —- between them. Nothing too distracting.
