it was an ordinary saturday night when valencia walked into the mixer held by chi alpha delta. as per usual, two to three classmates managed to drag her into coming. of course, as always, valencia didn't care much as long as there was enough drinks to consume and as long as she comes home without being vomitted on by one of her classmates (she remembered how she managed to avoid being the poor person to be vomitted on by veronica jung just the day before, poor charlie shin couldn't say the same).

"hey, val the great," a certain owen hong cooed as he put his arm over her shoulder. unbothered valencia just rolled her eyes as she sipped on whiskey and ginger ale mix. "hello, owen, looks like you haven't gotten laid yet, seeing as you're bothering me right now," valencia tried to use the aegyo voice that owen hates so much from her but unlike usual, owen just laughed it off. 

"well, well, well, little val, everything has its own time," owen said as he quickly removed his arm off valencia's shoulders the second he saw a hot girl pass by. he waved her goodbye and valencia could only shake her head off at his behaviour. she finished her mix and did a quick tequila shot before going back to her group. 

the mixer itself wasn't that memorable for valencia. it was like any other party. that was until a certain sophia kim walked over to her group on the dance floor, gaining hugs and kisses on the cheek from some of her classmates. clearly never having met the girl, valencia and sophia shared an awkward handshake instead as they both bowed their heads a bit while exchanging lines like "it's nice to meet you". it was at that moment, valencia felt a pull as if the world was telling her to do something before sophia turns her back on her group and walks away.

"hey, sophia, wanna grab some drinks?" was the cheap and pathetic question valencia barely managed to blurt out before the korean american walked away. thankfully, sophia agreed, "sure, my hand was getting bored from not having one" and the two walked off to get some drinks. the two girls who have just acquainted themselves with each other warmly clinked their tequila shots before finishing them in one go. strangely, sophia felt like valencia made really nice company (that, in all honesty, is not strange at all for everyone else as they know valencia for such a trait) and spontaneously told the hong kong-american, "hey, valencia... val, if i can call you that, we should hang out more sometimes."

to which, valencia could only chuckle at the sight of sophia slowly turning tipsy and complied by replying, "sure, what's there to fear?"

sophia could slowly feel herself go tipsy but managed to giggle as she said, "oh, there's a lot of wild in my crazy group that i'd like to apologize in advance."

valencia asked, "to be fair, aren't all college kids wild in their own way?"

"oh, gosh, then you'd have to know that they'll drive you wild, valencia!" was the answer sophia said before a certain couple walked over to them and dragged tipsy sophia with her as the girlfriend told sophia, "sophia, couldn't you have waited five minutes for me to finish my cigarette before you get tipsy?!" 

valencia was surprised at the scene that just happened right before her eyes because before she knew it, sophia was gone and she was alone again. 

so much for driving me wild, sophia kim.

BEGINNING & FIRST IMPRESSION

♦ in all honesty, valencia's circle and sophia's were bound to collide considering the fact that valencia is as good of a social floater as sophia is, just perhaps their majors or faculties are different.
♦ valencia has heard of sophia's name before. some of her classmates went to high school with her so some of them follow sophia and talk about her, especially after sophia's dramatic and spicy breakup with her boyfriend james.
♦ due to this, valencia did take pity for whoever this sophia kim was and however she looked like, valencia hoped that she wouldn't crumble and come back stronger because to valencia, that's the easiest way to get back at an ex; being much more happier and cooler than they were before.
♦ so, of couse, that night, when valencia met sophia, she was actually taken aback by how glamorous or luxurious or just chic sophia was and she understood at once just why sophia kim was such a social floater. who wouldn't want to know her?
♦ that first impression of sophia's stuck in valencia's mind every time she interacted with the korean american, her mind unknowingly going, "damn, she's cool" or "gosh, she's super chic" every now and then. of course, that all changes after sophia drinks a little too much because then, valencia will go "ah, she's cute too."

INTERACTIONS & DEVELOPMENT

♦ their first meeting at the beginning of the story or prior to the story was at a party where sophia, in her tipsy state, giggled to valencia that they should hang out more (portrayed in the blurb above).
♦ of course, valencia reached out to sophia first the following morning to ask if she was alright as she did witness tipsy sophia being dragged by liam and heather.
♦ that morning, they met to cure their possible hangovers and shared a lot of small talk and conversations.
♦ since then, they hang out a lot after class or in-between.
♦ valencia: "hey soph, you busy? if not, let's go go go~ :)"
♦ sophia: "val val val, wanna go go go?"
♦ they are two powerful and sassy es when seen together, a friendship similar to that of blair waldorf and serena van der woodsen's from the gossip girl
♦ valencia will enjoy recording and having proof of tipsy or drunk sophia whenever possible
♦ sophia: "val, i may need some of that cantonese porridge or noodles for my big headache, thank you <3" to which valencia will reply "please pay at the cashier, dear customer~ <3"
♦ as a supportive gal pal, valencia will definitely try to become sophia's wingwoman regarding her crush on aidan
