attributes

cold tolerance her tolerance for cold weather and cold environments is very high - seemingly why she can wear the same type of casual clothing year-round.

weather sensitivity she has this wonky ability to sort of predict the weather thanks to sirens having a strong connection to storms. rather than an actual idea of every day's forecast, it's more like she can just tell when it's going to rain. but that means she also knows when it's not going to rain - so essentially, she can predict on the daily.

physicalities this was ambiguously covered in the appearance section, but certain attributes of hers have this tendency to reflect the ocean. many people would deem it reasonable to compare haeju's eyes to the deep sea, but if they actually had the courage to look closer, they'd see that the color in her irises really do ripple like waves - just like her hair, which flows subtly wherever she goes.

aquatic communication if they hail from the water, chances are haeju can probably understand them. it's not like she can have a swift back-and-forth conversation with every sea creature, but if they speak to her, she will somehow understand. it's similar to her ability to understand greek - most of the time, she can't speak back, but that's what studies are for! she would consider this a power, though, because her basic abilities were not gained through knowledge, but birth.

siren song the voice of a siren has the capability of enticing its listener - so much so that they will become void of any will but the sirens. the siren song will physically lure the listener towards the siren, and from there, they are at the siren's disposal. under that spell, the listener will do all that the siren commands.

water manipulation though not as extensive as, say, a water spirit, haeju has a limited ability to control water. she can't do much besides manipulate and shape small amounts, and it doesn't apply to all kinds of water - for example, she can't control drinking water or tap water, but she has power over rainwater, pool water, sea water...she doesn't use it too often, honestly, mostly just when she's bored by the pool or when dante starts small fires. it would take a lot of emotion, adrenaline, and willpower for her to do something like stir up a storm.

 

weaknesses and strengths

☾ she doesn't have any particular strengths or even actual weaknesses, but one thing to keep in mind is that she should be regularly submerging herself in water (showers don't count). it doesn't prove extremely disadvantageous if she doesn't, but it's similar to if someone lives daily life without exercising. they can still be healthy, but exercise would make them healthier! in the same way, haeju should be fully submerging herself underwater at least once a month (that's really the bare minimum), but she's sort of been holding back on doing that since she doesn't like being in her siren form.

☾ fully submerging herself in water turns her into her siren form, but she can also just transform by will.

☾ as times have changed, siren sentiment towards men has shifted. the origins of sirens are centered on an intense hate for the male race and a desire to make the world female-only, but over generations, that antipathy has faded. haeju's grandma is part of the original generation in which it was the norm to kill your husband after having a child, and then haeju's mom is part of the transition generation where killing husbands is less practiced. they're slowly becoming more socialized and male sirens are also becoming more common - but it's still considered acceptable to some extent to murder men, as long as they're not of close relation to you. haeju, on the other hand, is the start of a rebellion generation, in which that innate drive to kill is now being questioned.

☾ basically haeju's feelings towards being a siren are hatred...it's not something she's ready to accept about herself yet because she didn't ask to be a murderer and she can't comprehend how so many sirens are just okay with it. her mom's generation hasn't conformed enough to think much about the victim, and there's still that slight desire to vanquish men - it's sort of inexplicable, but for them, that's okay. but haeju doesn't like that it can't be explained and people are still accepting it.

☾ as a siren, there are a lot of things to haeju that are inherent - the pull to water, an inclination to music, and the bloodthirst. of all of these, she's tamed her bloodthirst the most, similar to the way previous generations have also built up a resistance, but she still, today, struggles to resist the call of the ocean.

☾ it's not like she can never sing without enchanting someone - that's something she has to be more mindful and intentional about when she does, so she can sing normally without worrying about killing someone each time. but her voice still has this inexplicable charm that pulls people in without them even realizing.

☾ sitting by the pool after hours when no one's there, just staring, thinking about how easy it would be to just go in...she does this when she wants to clear her mind, though sometimes it just ends up making her more frustrated. after a couple years of just sitting against the wall, she's now comfortable enough to sit by the edge and dip her fingers in, manipulating and playing with the water.

trivia

☾ a couple months after she made her instagram account, she found out she could make it private, so she did so after about 100 people she didn't know had followed her. a while later, though, dante had gone into her account and made it public again, and she gained about 800-900 more followers in that time period before she made it private again. she finds it too much of a hassle to go through and block everyone and that feels too rash anyways.

weekend schedule

she wakes up around 7 or 8, either going for a walk or doing pilates as part of her morning routine. after the brief exercise, she'll wash up, maybe take a shower, and then chill in her room. after doing her makeup, she'll read a book, scroll through her phone, or do some light homework until about 11:30, when she eats lunch. sometimes all of death4 will eat lunch together, but most of the time it's just her and dante. haeju's the only one of the four of them whose weekend activities start at 3pm (the rest of them start at 1), so after lunch she'll go to the library on her own or back to her room to do more homework. from 3-7pm, she has archery practice, and then she has dinner right after with death4. if the gang doesn't have plans to go out and do something, she'll usually just laze around in her room or head to the library if there's an assignment she has to grind on. on saturdays, she usually goes to sleep pretty late (after 12), often because she spends time simping by the pool if she's up in her feels, but on sundays she checks out earlier to prepare for school the next day.

☾ in her second year she had done archery 8th period and then just kept practicing during that extra hour until actual practice, but that had proved too much, so her third year she decided to do it during 4th period and just go to regular practice times.

☾ haeju's one of the best shots on the team, which is probably the only reason they don't kick her off. she has no desire to go to the boolympics and never expresses enthusiasm for being highly ranked, and no one understands how she's on such a competitive team if she doesn't care - but that just goes to show how talented she is. she keeps their stats up, so they let her stay. she was asked to be captain this year, but she declined because that would mean more responsibility.

☾ no one knows that this is why, but archery is a sort of therapy for her. it's not explicitly violent, but the sensation of piercing something tends to sooth her - a sort of outlet for her buried emotions and bloodthirst.

☾ she has virtually no relationship with her teammates, since all she does is go to practice and then leave. she never creates any room for them to get to know her, always keeping to herself unless someone talks to her first - which they never do.
