re: that comment

while that comment missed the point of my message, i do want to mention that impersonating korean people to escape from reality is rude, insensitive, and offensive. if you're a fan, you should respect the country and culture your bias comes from by taking them into account while writing. if you're going to simply vent out your personal problems while calling it "roleplay" and not make a character you want to be held accountable for, you're not roleplaying.

if you don't want to pay so much attention to this, just create a new roleplay universe and timeline from scratch and make it unrelated to korea and the country's present state. stop calling it 'non-AU' when it's just a utopic AU that you want to exist in. stop calling it a 'korean-city-AU' when it's just a make-believe city you find ideal for the character you want. stop calling it 'roleplay' if you're just sharing your personal problems and searching for attention.

i will not deny that roleplaying is fun. i love the characters i've made, as well as the people i've been able to meet by writing together. as those non-korean individuals have proven to me, one doesn't have to erase south korea's culture and romanticize a race to enjoy rp. do your research, remain respectful, and stay conscious of the fact that you're representing a race that you are not.
