This needs to be addressed.... PT 2

If you have not read the previous blog, please read it. This is part 2 of ' This needs to be addressed...'

I thought I had enough to say after publishing the post but if it's not enough giving authors/ writers encouraging words to keep them going, maybe this might sound good:

Under AFF FAQ, if you ever wondered what comment reps are?

Well, here it is

In conclusion, you stack up points the more you comment as the karma multiplies for every certain amount of comments.

Now what do you do with karma points?

Well...

Even if you don't write, if there's an author and their story you'd like for it to receive more attention, you can advertise for them, donate/ gift karma points and encourage them to promote their story.

So it's a win for both sides.

I hate to be that person but it seems it has come to this point of giving incentives in order to receive and give something back.

That's all I have to say, I think... for now.

Other people have blogged about this issue as well such as ' the_wylde'

And it's not just in this website, it's also content creators on Tumblr and maybe on other websites as well ( that I have yet to discover, wink wink).

I really have no idea how to end this but yeah...I'll leave it to you to think about it.

Thank you for reading and subscribe for random content that I will post in the future lol

( I think I'm turning more of a blogging page than I am at writing lol)

Good bye now, have a good day!

2 years later, the problem literally still going on...im lucky i have active commenters but let's say i have 500 subscribers but i only receive like 5 comments per chapter it's quite saddening...😭 like where are the other 455 subscribers...

I’m mostly active on wattpad writing there since there’s an actual proper functioning app for it .
I know wattpad isn’t good outlet for some people. Silent readers there comment on parts or chapters that they like all the time . I feel like wattpad is better for writers because there’s no way to copy and paste another person’s work.

I've been reading this a lot lately since I decided to come back on AFF. Guess it wasn't like it used to be in the beginning when I started out? I don't know, I've been out for years. Because I miss writing, I decided to come back, to find that I still have a story going on. Haha! 😅 Anyway, I did noticed yes. I have min. 1 subscriber per day as I'm busy editing en re-writing the story, not a whole lot of comments/feedbacks too. I was wondering if the generation might have changed? 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it kind of a bit to read about this issue. I hope it will be better soon tho.. or I might leave again. Haha! 😅

I understand what you are trying to say. I too had an issue with silent readers. I quit writing once this year. Deleted my account here in AFF along with all of my ongoing stories. But I came back hehe. I reposted my stories with a specific author's note telling readers that there's NO NEED for them to UPVOTE COMMENT or even SUBSCRIBE. I guess thats my way of countering silent readers. Im actually just using this platform to redirect readers to my blog. I really enjoy writing and im not gonna let silent readers stop me from doing what I love. :)

I really don't know anymore. So many blogs, author's notes, addressing the same issue yet silent readers are not waking up. It's like they don't care at all. It's so sad.

Honestly I agree with you 100% There's nothing more that makes a writer happy than a feedback, even if it's short. I respect silent readers, I used to be one many years ago but people need to know how to encourage their fav writers or just any writer whose story they're reading. It's something they owe to them.
