To descibe Areum, she a warm hearted individual. She has a big heart and she honestly wears her heart on her sleeve when it comes to helping others. Areum is the type of person who would helped anyone in need a help without a second guess or question, especially for those she consider important people in her life. For the members of SNS even members from MLSM who she train with even GJSN and Paradox, somehow each of them made it into her heart. If anyone comes up with her in need of help or she notice anyone in need for attention. Without a second doubt, Areum drops everything and does what she can to help. If a member having a rough day, Areum will shower them with affection and let them know how amazing they are incase they need the extra boost of self love cause she understands being a trainee/ idol is hard. Even with strangers, Areum a girl who would even help a granny cross a busy road.  Areum is incredibly loyal and trustworthy to those she place her loyalty towards. She a ride or die type of girl who will get your back no matter what situation those she love is in. Honestly, she the type who would lie to the police ( or madame Kang) even if they already know the truth, but Areum is no snitch and would continue assisting she speaking the truth. She will fake it till she makes it. For a girl like her, she has a good sense on where she stands in the group. Areum is practical and knows talent doesn't grow over night. Coming from a girl who lives her whole life with a silver spoon, she understands the world not as beautiful or easy as some people with her social status would assume. Even Areum herself is still learning what the real world is as everyday goes by. When Areum decides to do something or set a goal for herself, she goes all in. She incredibly passionate doing things that she enjoys doing like singing. Singing and music in general, Areum love doing. She puts all her energy onto every stage as if it her last time performing cause each stage is precious to her. Often caring for her members, Areum is pretty observent noticing  any odd things going in their life. She quick to pick up if there a problem or small details that many don't catch at first. Also her surrounding, Areum often tends to be on the edge at times so she often observe her surrounding area. She not the best person to play pranks on as she often picks up on it based on how everyone acting.

Areum has an imaginary mind full of many of her thoughts and creative ideas. It not a surprise if someone spots Areum in her own little world staring into space looking out the window when she alone. This what  she had always done since was young as her own get away from reality for a brief moment. Her mind can run free and be away from her problems. It comes with it own benfitis as she able to be creative with her arts but it have some blacklash when she often too much in her head and doesn't experience it in reality. Areum is a talented individual but she doesn't seem to think highly of herself after years of people around her telling her there nothing good about her, or you only this good cause  your parents provide you this. Even when Areum get the credit, she often give the credit to others even when it was clearly her who deserve it. Areum is humble but somestimes it gets disheartening others close to her to see her not owing up the credit she deserve and always downplaying it. Some who don't know her as others close to her often think of her being snotty in a way but really it Areum feeling it not her who did all the work but others who pitch in. Since she was born, everything has to be perfect. Parent raising her with the mentality you need to be perfect. Mistakes were bad and you just basically failure. Areum hates making mistakes and highly stress when things don't go out the way planned it out for such as performance. She takes it personally and works extra harder after that to improve but sometimes someone needs to grab Areum and tell her " It ok to make mistake" cause she only will continue to strive for perfection till she herself feel satisfied. Living in a background like hers, Areum often self indulge herself with good quality self that often can be seen negatively to other people who hears her wealth background. Areum would buy luxurious items like food especially, but she would often share with people around her.which seems many who know her seem to miss. She may self induldge and go all out and crazy but she often want to share that living the good life esp with her members. Sometimes members  have to try to stuff Areum with her crazy spending habits. 

Not like her some of her other members who not afraid to stand out and speak their mind. Areum is timid since she could remember often lacking the confidence to put herself out there and often hesistating to take action when it comes to putting herself out there. It takes effort for Areum to put herself out there as she has very low self esteem than the other members. This is due to how others would view her and afraid to be viewed in a negative light. Areum often survives on compliments from others to make her feel validated and important especially in SWEETZ/ SNS where she often feel like she not as good as her members and the only thing that saving her in this group is her voice. Areum is honestly a sensitive soul and anything can make her emotional and change her mood instantly. She can easily be touch my a sad movie or a touching event. She easily can start crying cause she could feel their emotions. However,  Areum hates bothering others with her problems. Despite being a sensitive person, when it comes to her probelms. She pretty much shuts out how she truly feels and keeps it bury inside her. Areum would bury her emotions until one day she finally reach her limits and burst in the moment when she can't take anything anymore. There be times where people have to becareful to what is said to Areum as she will take it personally even if it a joke it needs to be clarify right away or she will take it personally. Even if she knows it a joke, sometimes  even joke would hurt her. Living up to her astrology as a Taurus, Areum is stuborn bull. When it comes to her belief and what she stand for. She unyielding and unwilling to compromise even though deep down she knows the other right. It take a miracle to make her change her mind as it will take lot out of her to admit her defeat. Despite it being a good characteristic trait that positive but it can also be seen negative. Areum see the good in people and most often not give the benefit of a doubt trust the good of people. She often gets walked on from other people who would use her for their own benefit. She would let things slide and hope things will get better eventually though deep down she knows that won't be the case but she tries to see in good for people. Often others who cares for Areum have to protect her for those who would just use her. Areum has a gluttonous trait about her as it can be quite alarming for others around her. Not only for herself, but Areum wants people she love and cherish experience the moment with her. Food wise, Areum a little piggy by soul and love indulge herself in good food. This could be due to her background as she always did get anything she want easily, she often over indulge as she wants her people to experience her enjoyment as well. Areum  can be possessive , not for materialistic things but towards people she care about . When areum create a relationship and puts her trust into them she feels somewhat possesive over them scared that she will loose them one day. It can be overbearing for people but  areum just really cares those who she loves and just scared that lose them.

Born on  May 7, 1998, Jung Dongho and Park Chanmi welcomed their second  child into the world. Jung Areum was born into one of the wealthiest family in the country possibly the asia continent on the amount of wealth the Jung's Family is  worth. The Jung Cooperation have bunch of business across the nation and other parts of the world such as hotels, airport, resturants just to name a few. Areum grew up practically like a princess. She lived a lavish lifestyle and having the best of the best when it comes to clothes, food, toys and many more. Areum's parents made sure their children were raised well providing their children with their own personal nanny as the two parents were often busy with the company with numerous projects that possibility bringing them more money.

Areum had an elder brother, Jung Minhyuk the next future heir to the company after their father who is current CEO of the cooperation after their grandfather stepped down and retired. Being in the Jung's family, its important to keep the honor within the family. Dongho and Chanmi, had provided their children the best education money can buy, starting them a young age lessons before enrolling them in school. It was expected from the Jung's to be top student in the school.In all honesty the image they family projects to the outside is " Perfection" Minhyuk protrayed the perfect son, he was natually good at school especially at school as he become number one in his class easily. He was the perfect child Dongho and Chanmi wanted however Areum was another different case. She was good in school, but she was not gifted like her brother. Her parents provided her with extra classes starting at grade school to meet a certain level like her brother did. Even if she did well, it never satisfied her parents high expectation.

Growing up, Areum's parents raised their childen to be at a certain level and Areum never seem to satisfied them  no matter how hard she tried. She studies her off everyday at school, even when she one of the top students in class it never seem to fully satisfied the parents as it was expected from their children. She was never like her brother, the only good thing about Areum was her love for singing. However it never seem to fully satisfied her parents who keep pressuring her to focus on school and be like her brother.. Areum often feel depress even at a young age constantly being comepared to her brother who was good at everything he does. Areum and Minhyuk relationship was never close as her brother is a confident man unlike Areum who a timid and opposite like her brother. In school, she was a perfect target for bullies. Areum was pretty much a by herself in school. She did has her " friends" but she was only their so called friend when they wanted something out of her. Areum often never thinks about it as she belives they are her friends and gives them a benfits of a doubt. She would always get used by them and often be devastated when she finally learns about the truth.

Areum lived a rather shelter life growing up, all she ever did was did study. She goes to school, have extra tutoring lessons  and  study more. Areum always been imaginive girl and wonder what her life could have been besides studying. She had always love music , she thought herself how to play piano and the guitar during her suppose study lessons. Music had always been Areum escaped to her boring life, She often wonder what her purpose in life. Often feeling alone in her world and she grew depress during her high school years . She constantly being compared to her brother, parents never satisfied with her ability, no true friends. She felt trapped in this world and wanted out. 

It was not until she met, Choi Daehyun who tranfered to her school and became her first friend/ first true love. Areum was finally feeling excitment in life until it all went down the drain when the person who she felt was everything to her smash her heart to pieces. She fell into deep depression having no will to do go to school, eat or even leave her bed. She isolated herself from everyone around her and constantly wonder the purporse to even is her life. She just wanted people to like her for her. Holding onto all her emotion, she one day cracked and exploded one day in class having enough of her so called fake friends calling out everyone for their actions. It got to the point teachers had to pull her out of class and notified her parents. When Areum's parent finally learn the truth,  Areum beg them to take her far away from here where no one know who she was as she was done being this heiress. Usually her parents  would be ashamed for their daughter to be ashame of who she is but seeing the state she in and they know if they don't take action now. One day something even worse would happen to Areum, respecting her wishes they sent her to  the states to a private academy

The next yearrs during her 9th to 12th grade,  Areum thrive in her new enviroment . Areum felt the pressure of being a Jung left behind her and she can be her. She made friends and even join a club for singing, glee where she was a able to sing her heart content. She even was vice president and won 3 natational champions during her time. After she graduated the academy and went to university to become a  music teacher. The last 4 years were the best years of Areum life as she finally was able to explore the world without having people constantly watching her move and ridiculing her for any mistake she done.

In December 2018, Areum came back to Seoul due to her brother getting married. Areum didn't return back home since she left. Her parents got her apartment in the states and they were the ones who visited her since Areum insisted of not coming back due to her practice for her club and studying.
This was not until her brother wedding when her life began to really turn around. Her brother always knew his sister love to sing and asked her to sing for his wedding. They may not have the strongest sibling relationship, but the gesture touched Areum heart and she was honored to sing at the wedding. What she didn't expect was a video of her singing to be posted online that went viral. Areum didn't know how to feel about this sudden fame of her viral singing video but multiple agency  reached out for her until no other then a recruiter from SM Entertainment. 

Areum was shocked, but something told her to take this chance. Despite her parents were opposed about the idea about being a singer but it was the one thing that brought a smile on her face so reluctalty both agreed. Soon, Areum packed up her belonging from the states and head back to Seoul where she begin her journey as an idol.

SM Entertainment ( January 2019-  November 2019 ) 

Areum joined as an SM trainee in the begining of the year. She walked in with zero knowledge what she got herself into. Coming back to South Korea was somewhat a big deal for her as she left her home country due her decline of her mental health and lived in the states  4years of her life only to get better and come back home to start her life all over again. She continued to hide who she was as no one knew who she was when she walked in on first day of practice. Areum was always confident in her sining and over the years of being in glee club . Singing wasn't the problem, it was mostly dancing is what Areum  had to get use to. Areum knew the basic of dancing due to simple routine they would due in her club but nothing was like the choreography in practice.  Areum was no where talented as the trainee who was good at dancing. During the next few months she worked her off to catch up with the other trainee to at least be decent and passable to the dance trainers who often scold her for not able to pick up the dance move easily. Areum trained hard every day in practice till one day, Mandame Kang, who was looking for last few trainee for her  program. Areum heard about SLJK program and  wished she could be part of it but she was just not as talanted as the other trainee who got in before her good at everything and only thing Areum good at was singing. She was sure singing was not going to cut it for her. One day Mandame Kang came into practice, everyone heard it was the last  chance to get into her program and when it was Areum turn to  perform in front of the ice cold director, she didn't expect Mandame Kang to be somewhat remember her as the viral wedding singer . Areum was happy when  Kang saw her video and gave her little confidence when she performed her audition. Mandame kang admit, her dancing was garbage compare to her trainee in her program but her singing what she wanted for her program. Taking the gamble on Areum , Mandame Kang gave her a chance into the program shocking the whole room when a trainee barely a year in trainee joining a pro training program that only a few lucky talented one can get in.

SLJK [ November 2019- present ]

Areum was the last round of trainee that was thrown into the program. All the trainees had eyes on her whe she was introduced to the program, curious what how good she is which seem to drove Areum anxiety through the roof when  she has this high expectation placed on her when she heard whisper that her singing was that impressive that mandame kang accepted her even though she was barely have one year under her belt. Honestly Areum thought that that day was just lucky, but trainee were able to get a taste of her singing where she was told to show off in front of all the trainee even members of GJSN and Paradox. They were able to see why mandame Kang wanted her to joined but saw instantly what shw as lacking when she danced. Areum was passable if she was in another entertainment idol group but this was SLJK program and she needs way more training to be compare to the trainee who were in the program.  Areum was no quitter and she practiced hard everyday to show she is worthy to be part of the program. 

Eventually she was placed in the final line up and she was originally placed in SOURZ which she loved since it focused on vocal than performing, plus she got close with the girls in the group esp Minah who was part of the line up. However, Mandame Kang was not happy of Sweetz and Sourz line up claimimg the vocal line up is not sitting right with her and the fact the image she has in mind was not being satisfied with the current line up. Areum began to worry if they were going to kick her out but it eventually led to her being switched out of Sourz into the sweetz line up which surprise everyone cause it was clear Areum dance skills was no where near the group dance skills and areum right away  felt the pressure. Mandame Kang felt the group was lacking vocal and felt Areum voice  would be a perfect addition. plus she was willinging to risk having areum in the line up cause dance skills can improve over time.   Despite the switch, Areum continued to work in her new line up even though she had to work 2 time as harder as everyone else as she had to meet up with their dance level skills. She was no quitter, Areum know she is lacking but she continues to work hard putting all her time and energy to each practice  to make sure she not letting the girls, madame Kange and all the staff who put all their time and effort into her down.

♛ Fans were quicked to notice that Areum not the best dancer in the group  calling her out (mostly anti) saying is she even trying which seems to discourage  Areum alot and often seen anxious when she goes into the performance and even more after. Fans were quick to notice how it got to Areum and tried to leave positive message and defend Areum saying she doesn't have much experience and she each performance she is improving

Old school mates from her middle school pointed Daehyun and Areum that were part of the school. It was bit of a news for a while to the point fans question if she paid her way to be in the program since she was not all that special.

♛ Earn her nickname , Cinderella of Music seeing how Areum a timid individual  before she performs, often looking the most nervous out of everyone before she performs like she one of the best before switching back to herself.

♛ Minah once called out fans on live streaming when saw rude comments esp towards Areum and was quick to defend.

♛ When she got choosen to Sourz, everyone even the boys questions Areum brings down the " Swag and coolness " from the group  despite her really trying to fit the image.

♛ Fans don't know or Mandame Kang does her best to cut it out on film but fans were quick to catch details on videos here and there of Areum feeling anxious and having anxiety attack before going up to perfrom because of the hate comment getting to her, even a small mistake on stage can ruin her whole day. Often using members as support either to hide behind them or to hug them.

♛ When Areum learn new choreography for a routine, she always the last to leave cause she tries to get down what she learn that day.

Areum and her relationship with her father had always been somewhat awkward relationship. Dongho loves his daughter and wants the best for her as in wanting her to achieve her greatest potential in her capabilities not realizing it was ultimately doing more bad than good to Areum who eventually led to her depression in her earlier years. Dongho has always been a stern hardworking man making sure his company is successful. He was never the best expressing his emotion esp love as he always keep a stern look on his face and giving a small smile is the most you ever get out of him. Dongho does whatever it takes to keep his family image protected as it could potentially hurt the company.  He love his daughter and what he was doing by providing her a lifestyle she has now express his love by getting her anything she ever wanted. When Areum reached her breakdown, he felt like he betrayed his daughter and did what she wanted and send her to the states and was please of her making a recovery. He often visited her with his wife and clear his schedule to come to her competitions. Areum was sure she saw her cold heart father smiled for her when her club won national. Dongho promise himself since sending his daughter to do better as a father so when she asked to become an idol, at first he rejected the idea but remembering how happy she was on stage made him rethink his choice and ultimately reconsider wanting her to do what she wants.

Areum have a slightly better relationship with her mother. Chanmi no different than her husband and was one to push Areum when she was younger in school to be like her brother. Still feeling guilty comparing the siblings together, since that day Chanmi works her to rebuild her relationship with her daughter. She often visit the states as  much she could and daily message Areum except when she went to SLJK program where it was only saturday. She drops everything she doing if Areum calls her on the day she able to use the phone. She hates the phone policy and was tempted to bribe Mandame Kang with money for Areum to have her phone but Areum stopped her. Chanmi always wanted both her kids to be the best so she always been proud when both her kids succeed as she the type of mom who proudly shows off her children to her friends and peers on how great her children is. When Areum told her about being an idol, at first like her husband was unsure cause Areum is still her shy timid self, but seeing how her daughter was determine she ultimately agreed since this what her daughter wanted, but she stil continues her to push herself better and gives her tips like she knows a thing or two which she does not, but Areum knows she doing it out love

Over the years, Areum adn Minhyuk relationship got better since Areum moved to the states for school making Minhyuk relizes the damages that were done. it didn;t take rocket science to realize Areum felt alone and just wanted someone. As an older brother, he failed her and he felt guilty. Being the elder brother, at a young age he was already been set to be the next heir to run the jung cooperation. he focus his whole life to be worthy of this role and earning respect all around him.  Minhyuk is practically a Dongho junior and have trouble expressing his emotion but he often shows through his actions but he seem to go better expressing. Compare to now and than, their relationship improved drastically to where he asked his sister to sing for his wedding and become somewhat a protective brother over his little sister. Areum often let him know when she has time off or on her day off Minhyuk comes to pick her up for a quick meal or he picks her up to go home to see the parents. Areum notice how Minhyuk a bit popular with trainee when they saw her brother outside waiting, often asking questions where Areum would reply " ...guys...he has a wife.."

Areum is grateful for her brother marrying Jieun cause she pratically like the older sister that she always wanted. Jieun like her brother is sociable and confident. She knows what want in life but she also has a sweet side of her and cares for others around her.  Jieun and Minhyuk met during their 1st year in university in a business class  and it was love at first sight. Jieun treats Areum like a little sister, being an only child she was thrilled to be part of the family since Areum is adorable in her eyes. She often join minhyuk on days the two would hang out so she can go shopping  with Areum and enjoys sweet while dragging minhyuk around and using him as a credit car/ bag holdder as they shop around.

The first time Areum laid eyes on Hana she was shocked from her beauty but was completely blown away with her talent. Areum could not take eyes off her when she perform solo on practice that she couldnt help but clap at the end on how talented Hana was. She honestly wished she had half the talent of dancing since Areum struggles when it comes to dancing.  Areum sees Hana like a little sister and finds herself constantly watching over Hana and constantly worry when she does somehing she not suppose to and gets anxious on want to do, but she seem to never get upset over the younger girl and quickly forgives her. Others would often see Areum looking over to where Hana suppose to be and worries where Hana , running around looking for her  calling her name and persuiding her she got sweets to find the troubler maker at. Usually works, but worst come to worst she runs to Liam for help and the two look together. Hana loves to give Areum heart attacks due to how absent minded she is when she trips and falls down making Areum rush to her aide to make sure she ok or tries to grab onto her when she falls and worst come to worst Areum falls down too trying to catch her and Hana questions why she on the ground and Areum nags at her to pay attention or she get hurt one day.  Despite all that Areum and Hana have a close relationship

He seem to somehow get her and she admit to having a small crush on him for a brief moment  but realizing how many other trainees who also have crush on him she quickly threw any ideas of them together since she realize she no where good as the others are. She appreciates their friendship they have now and like to keep it that way.  The two seem to get along  when both seem to have depression episode, Liam for his reason and Areum for her reasion relating not being good enough in her group to more. They somehow get each other and can easily spot when one going through one and Areum being her, check on Liam occasionally when he in the studio and makes sure he alive. She bring in food supplies and leaves it for him to help her mind that her friend at least eating. Areum likes to think they have a close friendship and does her best to be there for him when he needs someone as she would drop everything to come help him. When it comes to help babysit and care for the trouble making members  to needing someone to lend a shoulder to cry on Areum  has no trouble being there for her friend.

Surpringly, these two seem to get along. The two met when Areum first join the company and heard her sing for the first time " Yo! how a voice like that comes from a tiny person!?" which made Areum stand there thinking how to answer such a question but before she could one of the trainee scold him for being rude to the new commer. Austin was the few trainee who helped Areum eased into the program without struggle letting her get use to the vigorous  training . He often call her nurse Areum due to how she once heard him got an upset stomach from all they spicy food he ate and gave him medicine  one day in practice as she hopes he gets better soon.

Areum honestly wishs she has the confidence that Minah has cause she admires the younger girl for having something she lacks. These two been close since Minah was one of the few to help her get use to the program. They instantly got close to one another and Minah helped her alot during dance choreography since Areum struggles the most in practice.  She often there for Areum when she feels down  especially when fans comment how lack of dance skills Areum has and how she briging down the quality of SWEETZ and SNS. Minah is quick to defend her member and not afraid to say a thing or two. Areum is no stranger in Minah studio as she does the same to her when she goes in her zone and make sure her friends taking care of herself.

first meeting 

Areum notice Hyejin since her first day in the program, but never really intoduced herself till about a week after joining. Areum was in the practice room late into the night still practicing the dance routine after majority of the trainee left. She was not satisfied with herself and she knew the next day there going to be pre evalulations from the trainers to see the progress the trainee are having for a performance task they were given. Dance was not Areum strong suit and she didn't want to hold back any of the trainees due to her lack of skill so she stayed into the night practicing till she felt satisfied  with herself. Hyejin happen to be leaving when she notice Areum still practicing and saw she was struggling at a certain move. Seeing how she was frustrated , she was kind enough to help her instead of heading back to the dorm to rest after her long day of training. Areum was touched by her gesture and was grateful for her help and was able to get the hang of the choregraphy because of Hyejin help. Hyejin even gave Areum tips when to breath as she performs which helped Areum out when it comes to polishing her move.

Since their encounter, the two never expected to be quiet similar to each other. The two of them get along well and Areum looked up to Hyejin as a role model. She like a big sister figure in Areum eyes  and truly appreciates the effort Hyejin does to help Areum when she comes to her for help. They have a close sunbae to hoobae relationship. Areum comes to her for advice when it comes to singing asking her to listen to her perform and watch her performance. Hyejin been a great mentor for Areum helping her boost her confidence on her abilities. To show her appreciation, Areum got her a basket filled of strawberry flavored sweet treats as a form of saying thank you when she got into the final line up as a Sweetz vocalist, thanking Hyejin for being few of the people helping her.

Even debuting in SNS, Areum and Hyejin have a good relationship, Areum often gets happy when she runs into and see hyejin, asking how she doing and making sure she doing well.

Triva

♛ Hearing that Hyejin like hamster and guinea pigs, Areum looked online and found a hamster and guinea pig theme cafe.  Right away Areum told her about the cafe and the two of them went to check it out. One of their high light that week.

♛ Even when being busy, they often message each other on phone, often using cute animal memes and emojis through out the message.

Flower Way: This was a song that Areum wrote herself and with the help of Minah who produce her music she was able to make this her debut song. Areum dedicated this song to her parents as  over the years she was able to realize what her parents do and their love for her. Areum didn't really care how well she did in charts, she just wanted to express her love and gratitude for her parents.

Skyline: When Areum was slowly recovering from her depression, she wrote this song with the help of Liam  It has a positive message for those who were going through a dark time to remember the light they carry within them.

Aint Nobody: Different from her usual songs, Areum challenged herself with choosing this song and it was also show others how far she come with her dance skills.
