[inspired loosely by yttd's joe tazuna, but think rin okumura.]

unlike most swordsmen, who have the stereotype of being calm yet forceful like the sea, liwei moves like burning flames--destructive and burning anything in his path. he's not one to hide his always changing emotions. he's angry easily, upset easily, and has a strong moral compass that he lives by. in the end, liwei follows his own path, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
yet, liwei's flame-like sword is a reflection of his temper. he gets into fights quite frequently, but he never draws his sword unless absolutely necessary. he always speaks in a straight-forward manner, and when people don't understand that, people can feel irritated by it. which, as a result, irritates liwei. still, there's no doubt that he's a people person. he loves talking with others, and befriending those he gets along with. he's never afraid to be himself
once liwei finds someone he wants to protect, he's going to protect them no matter what, even if it means giving up his life. he's the type to help old ladies cross the street and grab a balloon from a tree for a crying child. aka, he's a great guy. his only flaws are his temper, and his tendency to act without thinking. sometimes, his body acts on it's own and by the time he's thinking with logic, he realizes maybe he shouldn't have punched that guy in the face. liwei only draws his sword in a situation where it feels like life or death, or when he's training.

 background
liwei thinks his backstory is pretty bland. he almost wishes he was like one of those cool anime characters that had a tragic backstory and went on a journey to find their long-lost brother or something. instead, his first experience with the sword was the decorative sword that his dad usually performed sword dance with. his parents were performers, and while the two of them were known for their chinese sword dance performances, they were more than a little bit surprised when they came back and saw their six year old son expertly handling a decorative sword.

so they put him in lessons. first, it was merely dance and performance-based, but liwei didn't find it satisfying enough. so at eleven, he bought a katana and practiced on his own on how to use it. eventually, his classmates caught him practicing after school, filmed it, and uploaded it online. the internet blew up and liwei's cute little face handling a grown up weapon so smoothly and elegantly was plastered over every news site possible, and he was famous overnight. that's when he earned the nickname the "ultimate swordsman".

he was known to get into fights when he was in middle school, and teachers always scolded him for carrying his signature katana around. still, it stuck to his side like glue, and he wouldn't feel safe without it. yet, even now, he still hasn't sliced into anything human yet. he's competed in many competitions, but he's skilled enough to avoid shedding any blood. so, can liwei really call himself the ultimate swordsman when he hasn't killed anyone with his sword yet? he doesn't think so, so he never goes around proclaiming his title unless someone asks. maybe he's scared of killing someone with his sword, because his hands tremble at the thought of using his precious weapon to slice someone up.
but when faced with life or death, will liwei's body move on instinct, or will he be too scared to even draw his weapon?

key information
true self
this is the anime liwei wanted to end up in. this is god giving him a reason to use his sword for good--but liwei is terrified. he's not scared of drawing his sword and knocking people out when necessary, but he's more scared of killing someone. he creates bonds with others easily, and makes friends with almost everybody, but because of that he's too stupid and too trusting to truly find out who the real mastermind is. liwei wants to protect his friends more than anything, but in an environment like this, maybe there's not much use for his ability to wield a sword. though he doesn't hesitate to knock out those with the hilt that step out of line and say something insensitive or stupid.

ROLE
mastermind: 0. he cares too much about his sense of justice, and he can barely even think about killing someone without his legs shaking anyway.
accomplice: 1. liwei's only reasoning to being an accomplice would be blackmail or threatening his family and friends.
survivor: 3

THE IDEAL ONE
liwei is biual. he gets along with basically anyone, honestly. but his personality doesn't get along well with those who don't like nosy people or people who get too close. he's too friendly for his own good, and sometimes doesn't notice when other people are uncomfortable.

interactions
he's never been in a relationship, so a significant other just adds more turbulent emotions to his already confused heart. he'd probably end up acting out more on impulse because of it. still, liwei is too honest to be in a fake relationship with someone.
