BACKGROUND born in aberdeen but moved quickly afterwards to where they are now. parents divorced when she was five and both have remarried since then. mother works as an editor for a well-known magazine, giving veronica some wealth to her name. father has his own construction company. parents are civil and try their best with the situation for veronica's sake. things aren't always perfect, though. there's troubles with both parents.

since veronica left the clique, the three young ladies have been nothing short of horrible to her. thankfully, she has few classes with each so her education isn't truly disrupted by these three. the worst comes out between classes when students are shuffling through the halls. here, the trio often call her out by their preferred nickname (defect) and when teachers aren't scouting the halls, they'll usually find some way to push her or make her books fall. veronica has grown used to their torture and finds it amazing as she'll usually bark back with comebacks that reveal embarrassing information about each of them since she was once friends with them. out of the three, heather's the most brutal, angela's the most dim witted and jill is shady. overall, the three are a natural part of veronica's school experience and she has fun with it.

neighbor : senior • ungrateful conformist • natural adversary
mary holden is the one person veronica thought would come out as her friend when the freshman incident happened. sadly, this didn't turn out to be the case. mary has been veronica's neighbor since their move to [story setting]. they grew up playing together and were close during elementary school but drifted once middle school started. there was never any bad blood between the two which is why veronica figured she could fall back on her history with mary to replace the three witches in her clique. when mary denounced her as well, it shocked veronica and from there, bad blood formed between them. since veronica is a brat and doesn't belong anywhere, mary treats her like everyone else does in school; like some disease. throughout high school, mary's clique jumped to the cheerleaders because she got prettier when puberty hit. she's given veronica dirty looks and a nasty attitude various times but veronica always reminds her where mary started at; a gullible smarty pants that was the of various jokes among the popular cliques. mean, yes but veronica doesn't mind playing bad guy to someone who is clearly two-faced. the irony of it all now is that mary has been dating the popular guy heather, angela and jill were pretending to be that fateful day. another tidbit, the two have many classes together and veronica always finds some way to flip mary off from across the classroom.

jason and veronica got together not long after the beginning of her sophomore year. the relationship came about around the time veronica started waitressing. he was waited on by her and the two casually flirted, something veronica sporadically did with patrons if she could tell they were single. the flirting turned into dating when jason finally asked her out. the dates were typical; movies, dinner, netflix and makeout. things took a dark turn two months into the relationship when jason went to visit veronica during work only to find her talking with a young male who was clearly oogling her. jason didn't make a scene until the two were in the car and proceeded to berate veronica and accused her of cheating on him. this became common practice until the verbal abuse turned physical. this happened when they hit their six month mark. he slapped her across the face for embarrassing in front of his friends when she made a joke that he was the jealous type. this, of course, was done in private after his friends had dispersed. at the beginning of the physical abuse, veronica often fought back or yelled at him in return to show that she wasn't going to take it. over time, though, veronica's strength was more focused on making sure her parents and friends didn't see the bruises. jason would always apologize and make it up to her with flowers or kind words and promised he wouldn't do it again but of course, he would beat her again and they only escalated. it was bad when he drank and when he started kicking her and punching her, veronica could only get into the fetal position to protect her head. after the couple reached their one year, things had taken a turn for the worse. it became apparent that jason was following veronica everywhere outside of home and school. he would call her when she was at home and ask what she'd done. if she lied, he would yell at her for doing so and the next time they met, he'd beat her for it. after a year and a half, veronica finally told her mother when she came home with a busted lip, bruised cheeks and obvious hand prints around her neck. winter break was spent recovering and filing a restraining order against him after he was charged with assault and sentenced to a few months in prison. she hasn't seen him since that day when they wisked him away to jail but fears he'll come after her.

GRADE senior (12)

INITIATION veronica had it all going into high school. she had solidified her status on the social pyramid as a popular girl in middle school and it was going to follow her into high school. she had made friends that last year of middle school with the popular girls after her mother landed an editor position in one of the country's most prestigious fashion magazines that anyone who was anyone was reading. this, coupled with a rumor that she frenched the quarterback of the football team (psst, rumor was spread by him to take advantage of her wealthy status) cemented veronica's future in high school to be filled with fun and social opportunities.

her first few months as a freshman went well...that was until she learned that her 'friends' were planning a horrible prank on her neighbor and ex-friend, mary. they were going to put a fake love note in her locker, signing it as one of the most popular boys who mary obviously had a crush on. the note entailed details to meet 'him' out back behind the bleachers, hinting at a possible make out session or whatever. while veronica played along with most horrible pranks, she didn't like that her neighbor was the victim. she'd already begun questioning her friends...in reality, she never liked them and after getting the picture of how high school life would be for her (aka she was one of the mosted hated girls in her grade alone), she didn't really want to be a part of it.

on the day the note was to be slipped into mary's locker, veronica publically denounced the trio and stopped the whole thing from happening, confessing the plan to mary as she watched in astonishment. to counteract their rogue friend, the three girls exiled her from their clique, walking away stunned but relieved that they maintained their status. in a twist of shiit luck, mary yelled at veronica for two reasons: finally growing a conscience and for still humiliating her in public by insinuating that she would've done as the fake note instructed. it also didn't help that the guy the trio were faking to be in the note was known to be linked to veronica in a romantic way (in truth, they were only making out and nothing more but the guy always claims he bagged her). overall, it was veronica's worst day in her high school career and made her the first of her kind. mary's never thanked her to this day.

DYNAMIC as the first brat, veronica didn't mind the change of pace her new circle brought her. she didn't understand why cliques were such a big deal in the school but at first, it was just her and a couple of others who followed in her lead (or didn't have anywhere else to go). the formation of the brats brought out a new veronica, one that was closer to who she actually was. while she was a richie she certainly didn't act like it. always known to be the black sheep of the family, veronica used school to express her true nature which was a sarcastic girl who wasn't afraid to sock someone if threatened. all while wearing an outfit amazing as can be, of course.

once veronica's true colors shone through, it wasn't hard for her to get along with those that decided to come along for the ride. she gets along with the members, enjoying the new set of friends she's got around her. while she figured no one would ever communicate with her since that day, it was comforting to know that there were others that didn't fit the typical mold of the typical cliques the school seemed to be supplied with. always willing to stick it to the man, veronica thinks of the pack as an anti-clique. after all, they're called a pack for a reason. this also came from veronica and some of the other members known to be aggressive if taunted. veronica cares for all of those in the group. she's protective of them and shows this through doting and glares she'll send to those even considering to harm a hair on her members. whle she's a little closer to breakfast club and pretty in pink, veronica adores all her brats.

***when veronica was in a relationship with jason and the beatings started, it wasn't hard for the group to notice that something was off with their og pack member. the first clue was when veronica wore sweats on a beautiful spring day that was paired with humidity. when asked why she chose to be in pants and a long sleeve, she lied that she forgot to wash her cute clothes. the pattern of covering up began to form and it wasn't long before the bruises started to peak out from under her sleeve when she raised her arm or winced when she adjusted herself in her seat at lunch. the pack collectively staged a hangout in which they would get the truth from her. some thought she was shooting up but others suspected beatings from jason. when veronica arrived, ferris bueller was the first to ask her what was up with veronica and called her on her bull when she tried to lie. finally, dirty dancing pushed veronica's sleeve up to reveal a fresh set of bruises over old ones. after veronica divulged on her abuse, everyone tried their best to be there for her, encouraging her to press charges and get a restraining order. it became routine for some members to photograph her bruises when alone with her to compile evidence. this period in veronica's life showcased the close bond the group has despite being such different people.

EXTRACURRICULARS doesn't belong to any after school clubs as after her public stunt freshman year, she's practically shunned or taunted by everyone. she works out every day after school at the local boxing gym and has been working part time as a waitress at a restaurant.
