Personality. 

Kind and selfless : Mina tries to avoid hurting others, instead uplifting them wherever possible. She never fails to give her loved ones or people she finds cool words of encouragement when needed, even if she can't say much. She tries her best to show genuine love to everyone around her, even sacrificing herself to make them happy.

Responsible and caring : Mina sees all the members of U/Idol as her family and looks out for them and keeps them out of trouble, even those that are older than her by many years. She makes sure to give them words of encouragement before important events and be updated on what is happening to them, and take note of how she can make their day better.

Friendly and talkative : Mina loves getting to know others and she believes the best way to do so is by talking to them, about anything under the sun. However, Mina has a tendency to talk too much at times, sometimes when it is unwelcomed. Sometimes, she also says the wrong things, and usually at the wrong times.

Persistent, sometimes to the extent of being stubborn and naive : When Mina wants something, she will work hard towards it no matter how many obstacles are thrown in her face. If there is no way, she will make a way. Because Mina will not accept failure, she won't listen to people when they try to dissuade or even stop her. She won't stop fighting until she gets what she wants, and she will continue believing that she will.

Irritable and quarrelsome because she is protective : Mina doesn't tolerate bullying, whether intentional or unintentional. If someone tries to hurt her or her groupmates, she will fly into a rage. Going along with being stubborn, if people try to tell Mina what she doesn't want to hear, she will argue with them until the cows come home.

Brave : Mina is never afraid to say exactly what is on her mind, or to try doing crazy, even risky things.

Cheerful : Mina is always laughing and smiling, and tries to remain enthusiastic while interacting with others.

Impulsive : Going along with Mina wanting to protect her groupmates, she often says things she doesn't mean or does risky things for their sake.

Background.

Mina was born in 1999 to a housewife and a volleyball coach. Just three years later, her younger sister Yumi was born. Mina spent most of her early childhood helping her parents to care for Yumi, and playing with her.

When Mina started middle school, she ended up in the school where her father was the coach of the volleyball team, and to appease him, joined the volleyball club. Nevertheless, she ended up falling in love with volleyball, and during every training and competitive match, gave her all in it. Thanks to her, the school earned many wins. Mina later became aware that several prestigious overseas universities offered scholarships for school team players, and wanted to go to a university in America. Until she accidentally watched a video on NicoNico called "Aqours First PV", and was instantly captured by the cute anime girls, the upbeat melody and the cheerful lyrics.

Mina later discovered other idol groups, and spent her free time watching their videos and learning their dances, and realised dancing made her happy, somehow happier than volleyball did. Even though she tried to put all her heart into trainings and matches, she just didn't feel it. She wished she was dancing in her room instead, or even on a stage. When she told her parents how she felt, they encouraged her to take some time off after graduating from high school to think about what she really wanted to do. Which she did, and just nice, auditions for International Idol opened in late 2017. Mina promised that if she didn't make it to the final team, she would go back to her studies and volleyball. However, unexpectedly, she ended up being one of the eleven finalists.

Relationships. 

Groupmate / Arlo Yoon / 22 / Idol / ENFP / Both Arlo and Mina are loud and energetic, so they get along well. They are usually practising together or talking to each other outside of practises.

Groupmate / Hirose Yumeko / 22 / Idol / INFP / Both Yumeko and Mina are Japanese, so Mina was able to talk to the older girl since International Idol. Over the period of International Idol and training together, Yumeko opened up to Mina, and they are very close friends.

Groupmate / Luna Tuan / 25 / Idol / ESFJ / Mina looks up to Luna as to her, the older girl is a good leader figure. (Not really sure what to write so mostly up to you)

Groupmate / Lee Haero / 24 / Idol / loyal, confident, ambitious, brave, straightforward / Mina and Haero are able to relate to each other because of both being persistent and relentlessly going for what they want. (and maybe they could have a rivalry somewhere along the line because of this?)

Ever since the first day they met, they rubbed each other the wrong way and have never been able to resolve it. Plus because of them quarreling almost every time they meet, Mina hasn't been able to get to know Wenxin enough to know that she's masking her true broken self with a y attitude, so overall Wenxin just majorly puts the younger girl off. (but hopefully they can be friends one day)

Trainee Life.
Mina started teaching herself how to dance after she watched Aqours' first PV. As her home was rather small, she would practise in the school hall after school, sometimes even before volleyball trainings. She didn't know what she was doing back then, she just knew she was having fun. But as the days passed and she found herself increasingly wishing she was dancing while she was doing other things, Mina began to wonder if just learning dance for fun would be good enough for her. Which was why she decided to take a gap year and compete in International Idol, which she unexpectedly won. Thinking that maybe she really was meant for the idol life, she agreed when Unite Media offered her a contract. During her trainee days at Unite Media, Mina tried her best to be the perfect trainee and be friendly and nice to everyone in addition to working hard. However, there were just some trainees she couldn't get along with no matter how hard she tried. Nevertheless, Mina eventually debuted as a member of U/Idol. Now if only she could iron out her issues with the people she has bad blood with, especially one particular member.

Comments/questions. I hope she is okay and sorry if she seems rushed! I've wanted to create a character based on TPN's Emma for the longest time but somehow wasn't able to, and I originally wanted Mina to be a tomboy but I actually think her becoming more girly after discovering idols would be cool to explore.

Suggestions. I hope Mina and Yumeko could do either Self Control (ugh I could only find the nightcore version) or Believe Again. (or both)
