Background.
Luna Tuan was born in Rome, Italy on January 1st, 1993 to two Chinese parents. Luna’s early years in Rome were quite normal, to say the least. She attended one year of kindergarten in Rome before her parents decided to move to Milan to open their own fashion house when she was four. Luna had a difficult time adjusting to life in Milan. Most of the other children didn’t really take to Luna and often left her out. Due to this, Luna’s mother decided to enrol Luna into dance classes in the hope that they would help her build confidence and help her gain friends. It wasn’t long before Luna was attending multiple classes a week for everything from ballet to jazz, tap and even hip hop.
As Luna got older, she started to really begin to help out at her parents fashion house and quickly became well aquatinted with the sewing machine. She would often enlist her mothers help to recreate outfits she’d seen in movies, on tv and really anywhere.
By the time she was thirteen, Luna had decided that she wanted to be a famous singer and begged her mum to let her take on vocal lessons along with all her dance classes. Much to Luna’s surprise, her parents were fast to agree and signed her up in a matter of days. Luna wasn’t particularly bad at singing. She had a good voice but her technique wasn’t as good as she had initially thought, but that didn’t make her shy away. Sadly, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t seem to quite catch up to her peers, but she still continued on.
Not too long after Luna’s sixteenth birthday, she had made a discovery that would change her life. She was listening to some music on YouTube when she had some how stumbled upon ‘Tell Me’ by Wonder Girls. Luna couldn’t believe her eyes. The bright music videos and catchy music drew her in fast and before long, she knew all the dances, all the words and everything. She had never heard of KPOP before but was instantly obsessed!
Later that year, Luna was looking at the latest KPOP news when she saw a notice for an audition a new company was holding. It never occurred to her that she could actually have the chance of being one of the idols she adored so much, so as soon as she saw the ad, she just knew she had to audition. After seeing how passionate she was, her parents gave her their blessing and she sent in her audition. After what felt like eons but was only really a month or two of waiting, she had received and email informing her that she was to come to Seoul for follow up auditions.
A trip to Seoul later and another anxious month of waiting, Luna was notified that she had been accepted and soon packed up her life, bid farewell to her parents and moved to Seoul to begin training. While in Seoul, Luna completed her high schooling career and continued on to study music production at university.

Trainee Life.
Not too long after Luna had moved to Seoul for training, Unite Media trainers informed her that they would be switching her vocal and dance based training to more focus on rap and dance. Luna was first shocked when she heard the news, as she had never really thought of herself as a rapper, but then again, she didn't really see herself as a strong vocalist either. So Luna decided to throw her all into it and try her best.
Training wasn’t always easy. During her eight years under Unite Media, Luna often saw trainees come and go and even saw some lose their spark. It was always difficult to watch people she had grown close to give up on their dreams, but sometimes there was no helping them. Luna often had times when she would doubt herself and her talents, but she had invested so much time into this dream of hers, that she felt like she had to stick it out.
When Unite Media announced that they would be partnering with MNET to produce a new survival show, Luna quickly volunteered herself to participate. She genuinely felt like this was the chance she had been waiting for all those years. She finally felt like she was ready to show the world what she had.
