BACKGROUND

born on the 17th of june 2000, son juwon was a child out of wedlock. her parents had just gotten out of high school and was preparing to enter university; son minhyuk was supposed to enter seoul university as a medical student together with kim yewon, her mother, but came to a halt when the pregnancy news was brought upon them. minhyuk started to work multiple jobs to support his partner and the life that was growing inside her. however, three months after giving birth to juwon, yewon left, leaving minhyuk and his daughter alone in a small, shabby apartment in seoul.

after the incident, minhyuk was determined to raise his daughter alone. because of his hardwork, he managed to give juwon a life she deserves and have a shelter nice enough for the both of them. eight years later, his father married ji sohyun, the owner of the company he's working at. the family of two soon turned to a family of four when juwon's younger sister, son juhye, was born in 2009.

juwon never imagined being an idol, even though people around her encouraged her to be one. they said that juwon's visual deserves to be seen by everyone. but she always wanted to be a doctor eversince she heard that it was his father's dream to be one. she's always interested in the medical field and her family has always been supportive of her, especially her step mother, sohyun. despite her opposition on being a kpop idol, when juwon got casted in the streets of myeongdong, she tried to audition out of curiosity and got accepted as a trainee in pledis in 2016.

juwon's family was hesitant to send her as a trainee at an entertainment, as she is totally set on being a doctor and going to medical school. however, minhyuk was totally supportive since he thinks that juwon's only reason on being a doctor is because of him, which is kind of true. juwon has always been amazed of the stories her father tells him about doctors and how he'd suppose to be one. eversince, it has been planted on her mind that she'll continue the path that her dad never threaded on.

juwon quickly discovered that performing is her passion, and she accepted pledis' invitation to become a trainee. despite having many regrets, juwon is content with her choice, and  is thrilled about the chance to grow as a performer. as a trainee, juwon practiced to develop her abilities in dancing, singing, and stage presence. though there were times of doubt and hesitation, juwon is now happy and satisfied with her decision. she is excited for the journey ahead, where she hopes to fulfill her ambition of working in the entertainment industry and follow her passion in the entertainment industry.

✽ cleaning juwon is a clean freak and double cleanses everything in their dorm. cleaning became a habit for her when she studied about bacteria and germs. since then, she cannot unsee the dirt that surrounds her, even if you cannot see them.

TRAINEE YEARS started training in pledis in january 04, 2016, 2 days before the airing of 16TV and trained for a total of 2 years.
　✽ juwon never really expected the harsh and cruel environment of training as she did not have any prior experience. she had a very hard time adjusting and actually considered backing out a lot of times but her fellow trainees helped her and made the training a little easier. 
　✽ juwon struggled to show progress during the first to several evaluation period as an idol trainee, often finding herself at the bottom of the rankings. even with these difficulties, her visuals was the one thing that kept her involved for the term. put another way, juwon's main defense against elimination during this early stage of her career as an idol trainee was her physical looks. this suggests that whatever shortcomings she might have had in other areas of her performance or training throughout the assessment process were overshadowed by her visual appeal which made her frustrated and feel useless for the group and worked harder. she tried to explore in other aspects, and eventually finding her place in singing.

FIRST MEETING juwon first saw jeonghan in the pledis building for only a moment, and it was her first time seeing her senior labelmates. but their first official meeting was when seventeen visited the trainees for greetings and getting to know them, not knowing that it'd be the time where they would be their mentors. juwon was surprised that her mentor is jeonghan and did not expect it at all. their first few days as mentor and mentee were awkward but jeonghan stepped up and told her that he'd help her in any way to make her the best and became a great support for her.

INTERACTIONS jeonghan has been a lot of help to juwon as the group's lead vocal. juwon was not afraid getting and asking for all the help she needed throughout the time he was her mentor. they became quite close and seen interacting at times during shows where their schedules are at the same time. juwon sees jeonghan as her older brother, and is seen interacting a lot even after 16tv ended.

HISTORY juwon remained firm in her preference for a non-industry relationship; it was a personal decision motivated by her need to maintain professionalism in the middle of the complexity of the idol industry. she respectfully turned down many advances from other idols, protecting her heart from the possible love relationship in the business. but to changmin, juwon became more than simply a crush. he became juwon's friend who was aware of the the details of their shared reality.
