i basically had him be like khun wherein he's known physical combat but "chose" to become a magic user, hence him being a catalyst and shielder. it might be confusing but his shield doesn't work like a regular shield (ie zhongli) and instead works like a passive where the shield is created upon an active attack against an ally but doesn't hit.
sleepwalking uses the power of cryo to materialize weaponized attacks in the order of claymore, sword, bow, and polearm. LEVEL 1
crystallized dream creates a shield based on his max hp around an ally when they're targeted. (15 second cd) LEVEL 10
serenade creates a healing aura around on-field allies (lasts 12 seconds on an 18 second cd) LEVEL 10
let there be light increases incoming healing bonus for allies by 10% of his max hp.

playstyle i imagine him to be sort of like kaveh where kaveh is similar to a catalyst but is a claymore wielder, so nikolai would use weapons created from cryo but doesn't actually wield them. he's a bit brutish just from past experiences but less destructable than sutekh.
