jisoo's style is mostly athleisure due to her regular dance practices and fitness trainings. she is always seen with either a pair of adidas joggers or pleated wide leg trousers. her daily go-to would either be a cropped baby tee or a branded hoodie. if she is ever feeling a bit fancy or proper, she would put on her oversized blazer and match them with a pair of sock boots. think lisa manoban, hailey bieber and a bit of rian from lachica. as a dancer, jisoo invests much more on shoes. she has a versatile collection of trainers and sneakers and heels. jisoo is not afraid to show a little skin especially when shooting dance covers or choreographies as she treats them as a performance. some might say her wardrobe choice is a bit racy as she would put on hot pants and black stockings regularly on dance videos.

 

jisoo was born as the first children of kwon changhyuk and lim jinah. her father worked as a stage manager and her mother was a ballet teacher. the kwon household was later introduced with kwon jiwoon, jisoo's younger brother.

 

perhaps because they both worked in a creative industry, the kwon siblings have always been exposed to all forms of art such as dance, movies and art pieces. jisoo showed huge interest in following her mother's footsteps as a professional dancer. she went to her mother's dance studio almost everyday after school and then go home for dinner together.

 

everything was fine until jisoo turned eight. her father abandoned them. jisoo wasn't sure if there were any significant traces, but her mother sure did not look surprised. it was a very tough time for lim jinah but she managed to move on pretty quickly so as not to affect her kids negatively. however, the damage has been done and to jisoo, kwon changhyuk is dead from the day he left them.

 

lim jinah soon sent the two kids to her mother, lee hyeran, in jeju island while she stayed in changwon for about two years to sell her business before she could start fresh in jeju island. going through all these, jisoo has grown up more mature than her peers as she has learnt to look at the bigger picture and plan ahead. she realised earlier than her friends that life is not a fairytale unlike what is portrayed on the cartoon channels. people leave and at some point, everyone will hit rock bottom in their lives.

 

fortunately, her mother's dance studio business was quite successful as a local ballet school in jeju. her granny has two airbnbs running in jeju which took some financial burden off lim jinah. as jisoo were more exposed to the dance industry through her mother, she moved to seoul for high school with the hopes of getting recruited by the bigger scale dance crew based in seoul. it wasn't easy for jisoo- she had to work part time to earn extra allowance for the dance classes and to afford a more expensive lifestyle in the metropolitan city. eventually, a member of justjerk extended an invitation to jisoo to become a part of the crew.

 

jisoo had opportunities to perform as a supporting dancer with the major crew along with some very famous and well-known underground dancers. dancer josie eventually received more recognition by fellow dancers but far from being a star or having her own fanbase like what some other members from justjerk did.

 

just when jisoo thought she was finally closer to her dreams a couple months as a part of the justjerk crew, she was hit by the news of her mother's sudden death. jisoo was wrecked as she felt her entire world crumbled. however she had no time to weep or sulk, her brother needed her, so did her granny. she took the next flight to jeju only to see an absolutely devastated granny staring soullessly into the air on the sofa.

 

she knew she had to move back to jeju. before telling the crew her decision of moving back home, she cried for hours. a part of her mourns for her mother's death, and a part of her was in the process of coming to terms with her lost dream. being in jeju, jisoo could only commit to one day per week at maximum, she knew the team would have to let her go. they were not ready for her leave, but respected her decision.

 

going to university was insisted by her granny. lee hyeran never got to attend jinah's high school or university graduation as she never finished any of these before she started a full-time career as a dancer. jisoo simply could not turn her down. with her granny's savings as well as some investment from her mother, jisoo was accepted by jju college of arts and design. after a year of moving and settling down, jisoo is now ready for a new life as a freshman of jeju university.

 

 

 

most people of kwon jisoo's age would be a bit scared of her upon the first meeting. she is cold, apathetic and nothing seems interesting to her. people do say that her glares make them feel like their entire existence was judged. but when jisoo actually starts a conversation with them, the way she speaks so softly in a monotone often create a delusion of her being a lowkey softball. more frequent than not, jisoo has an assertive mindset who judges people with stereotypes. she is not a very open-minded person except when it comes to creative arts, and it is hard to change her perspectives once she has decided her thoughts on things. being in a single parent family, jisoo tends to observe the surrounding more, and hence she has more judgements than actions. an incomplete family means she is more easily exposed to reality and damages, so she needs to observe and determine what is good for her and what she needs to avoid before she or her family gets hurt. the trauma of her dad leaving also inevitably turned her into an apathetic and untrusting person who is scared of expressing her feelings and opening her heart to someone new, fearing that they will end up betraying her. as a corollary, jisoo has decided to shut her heart once and for all. to the extent that she does not think she is capable of loving anyone other than her family.

 

even when her friends are going through a hard time, it is hard for her to feel overly emotional. she would rather give them actualy advice and feasible remedies although that might not be what they really need. she tries her best to be understanding as a friend, but sometimes it is just a bit tough for her to show too much emotions outside her comfort zone. 

 

on the outside jisoo is viewed as someone who is always calm, level-headed and seems to always know what is she doing. these are just a facade she is used to put on to prevent people from seeing how chaotic her life is.

 

as the oldest kid in the family, who was forced to become the second parent to kwon jiwoon, jisoo has grown up to be a very responsible and dutiful person. she sets clear goals, and works very hard to achieve what she wants. hoping not to become an additional burden of her mother, jisoo learnt to take care of her own tasks and duties, and she is very used to be independent so her mother could spare more time for her baby brother. fearing to be a liability or a failure to the family, jisoo is a complete perfectionist who needs to be the best in everything she attempts to pursue. if she has no confidence in attaining so, she won't be bothered to try at all. what's the point when she is doomed to fail? but this makes jisoo a very reliable and trustworthy person who is always the top 5% in what she does. the contradictory part comes when her family is factored in the equation. through the incident of her father leaving the three of them has bonded stronger than ever. jisoo is so loyal to the people she trusts, because she knows how painful it is to be betrayed and abandoned. once she has let you in the inner circle, she will do everything for you. but until then, you are just irrelevant. boundaries are to be kept very clearly and strictly in jisoo's point of view, as she hates having her psychological world invaded. which is why it takes a very long time to be someone important to jisoo, but when the time comes, you will find yourself one of the most loving and endearing friend who is ready for the fight the world for you if necessary.

jisoo's course is a lot more practical than her peers who are studying business or korean history or something even more boring. she spends most of her time in the dance studio with her classmates dancing till the floor is all slippery with their sweat. sweat actually drips from their leotards or tank tops if they try to twist them towards the end of a class. jisoo usually spends time staying in an empty studio coming up with her own choreography for her saturday classes or for her own portfolio. as a veteran dancer, it is no challenge for jisoo to maintain outstanding grades, except the very occasional b- or c+ when it comes to essays. since her mother has passed away, jisoo has now become the legal owner of her mother's dance studio, bom. bom, meaning spring, represents the season lim jinah herself was born in. her mother was fortunate enough to be the owner of the commercial unit so jisoo does not have to worry about paying rent while studying. bom studio now operates only on weekends, when jisoo travels from jeju city to seogwipo city.

 

weekend is also the time she dedicates to her brother and her granny. since her grandma is managing two airbnb properties in seogwipo city, jisoo tries to help her sort out all the technological stuff and administrative documents as much as she could. most of the guests are pretty kind and chill, and adore granny hyeran who is apparently a superhost on airbnb with a rating of 4.9. if they are lucky enough (and punctual), they will find a good looking high school boy greeting them upon arrival with a textbook in hand.

 

jisoo teaches five classes over the weekend. since she knows she cannot commit to this job as a full time job with her studies in jju, most of her students attend the classes as leisure activities and the regulars are like her friends. teaching at bom studio has taken up a significant portion of her free time so jisoo has no other extracurricular activities signed up. from time to time she will need to travel to seogwipo city for her brother when his school requires a guardian's attendance.

 

only when neither her brother or her granny or her students need her, will jisoo finally relax and chill for a bit at happy bean cafe or watching over daesung lake. at night she enjoys going clubbing as she treats them as another stage for her to dance her heart out and destress for a bit. naturally, she is a regular vaper and occasionally she smokes weed as well but not regularly. she has too much daily stress that she has no one to rant to, nor does she want to.

DIRECTION

jisoo's life has been chaotic to say the least. since the day her father abandoned the three of them, she has become the second parent of the family, supporting her mother and her brother. she has been so focused on her family and dance for her entire life that she ignores everything else. now that she has compromised her dream for her family, would that really make her happy? or, would she find another path towards her dream? rather than being an underground dancer, maybe she could actually be a professional dancer? rather than joining a dance crew, maybe she could actually start her own dance crew? there are just so many possibilities that jisoo didn't see because she is contributing an unhealthy amount of time on her family. and maybe this is something she needs to come to terms with and realise. after all, she has no responsibility to make up for anything, and even by making up her parents' presence does not mean nothing happened.

"my family is here in seogwipo city, and i wanted to stay close to them," she paused for a bit, "and i picked dance because i am keen on pursuing a professional career in dancing."

"probably working as a professional dancer? i am not sure if i will be in seoul or jeju by that time, but definitely doing something heavily associated with dance." jisoo smiled elegantly, "i just cannot see a day when i cannot dance."

"my strengths- i can dance really well. i was scouted to be a part of a major dance crew when i was 16, that's something, right?" she chuckled a bit, "and my weakness... i don't care enough about the world? i just... don't care. people except my family are mainly irrelevant, and some people get hurt about this fact."

"since i won't be staying in the dorm a lot, i don't really care who becomes my roommates unless they have hygiene issues or stealing habits. i am normally good at respecting boundaries and i hope they do that too. if they use my stuff without my permission or create nuisance on a daily basis, i will report this to the advisors and quit the dorm."

"nothing really, it's just another phase of life i guess." jisoo shrugged, "to be fair, my granny wanted me to get into a university, so i'm just not that excited as compared to the other classmates."

'parties', 'alcohol' and 'boy' are the words jisoo would use to summarise lee wonbin's existence in her mind. because his reputation with girls and parties are just too dominant, his personality actually looked pretty flat and two-dimensional to her. would there be anything under there? or is he really just a casanova with a charismatic personality who happens to be good at sports as well? if he is, then he's pretty boring. but if he's not, that's none of her business. but why would this person who is supposed to be like a kleenex tissue- you use once and throw it away- begin adding colours to her mundane life? he can't be really changing for her, can he? she has seen a fair share of trash men around to know that it is not that easy to change.

 

...but still why is he sitting there with her granny updating the airbnb photos?!

LOVE STORY 

unsurprisingly, wonbin and jisoo first met each other at a club. they were caught in eye contact with each other and began making out not long after. just as wonbin was to offer getting a motel room nearby, jisoo's phone rang and it was jiwoon calling her. jisoo quickly pulled herself together and answered the call in front of wonbin. this was very unusual to him as what could there be something even more interesting than what they were having just now? "hey, i have to leave now, it was nice meeting you tonight," with that jisoo left in a hurry without even leaving her contact. was she jiyeon? jihyun? or juyeon? the club was just too loud for 's sake.

 

they were soon officially introduced to each other along with all the other chungsam hall freshmen and the resident advisors. she vaguely recognised his face, but wasn't sure if it was him that night honestly. wonbin was the one who made the first move and asked her about that night. she clearly saw through his intentions and finally exchanged contact with him. later that day, while she was smoking cigarettes near daesung lake, she ran into him, who was smoking weed. and this became amusing.

 

"the resident advisor...doing weeds? what would people think?" she smirked behind him. to this he scoffed, "clearly you don't know my reputation around here." jisoo could tell his mood wasn't great so she thought she should leave him alone. but he pulled her wrist gesturing her to stay. she didn't say anything but began to join in smoking in silence. jisoo was never great with consolation with anyone outside her family. "hey, whatever it is, it will get through, okay?"

 

jisoo did not know at which point it was ignited but they began making out and eventually having that night. it was amazing, especially with the effect of pots. wonbin was clearly very experienced and knew what he was doing, to say the least. and jisoo, as a dancer, well let's just say she was ing flexible. and then they eventually became ual partners. jisoo really thought that would be it, at most. she was usually able to keep things superifical and purely physical.

 

until they began to start talking after the . one thing led to another, they became friends. friends with benefits. fwb who talk about their families now, apparently. people do say it's actually easier to talk about these stuffs with a less acquainted person, because you usually don't get as judged as around closer friends who knew more your situation.

 

and then wonbin realised his games never worked on jisoo. she simply didn't care about the relationship as much as he imagined. he thought she was playing games too when she rejected his booty calls from time to time. in fact, she was just too preoccupied by her real life responsibilities, such as taking her granny to the doctors, attending her brother's pta meetings, and so on. that was when wonbin found himself being attached, and it was too late to back out.

 

the affection grew even deeper when he first saw jisoo's grandma giving her a visit around campus. he would never forget jisoo's bright smile and her aegyo. it was like he discovered a completely different side of her. so much life. jisoo would not deny her feelings for wonbin. it was hard to not fall for him, but also difficult to fall for him deeper. it was always exciting and sending her thrills down the spine around him. but what if it was the games and uncertainty that made this fun and interesting?

INTERACTIONS 

neither of them are ready to commit or settle down, and they know it. it began as purely physical, then attachment grew slowly day by day. frankly, jisoo isn't as easy as the girls he used to date. what makes it different is that she actually has something else more important to do, not simply playing push and pull with him. they are very compatible on bed, but they are not sure if they themselves are compatible as a couple.

 

when around their mutual friends, they are just like any ordinary friends, sometimes wonbin will be flirting with jisoo for a bit before jisoo replies something irrelevant calmly. "hi you, your perfume smells really nice." "yeah, that's like ₩1300 of value." and then they would smile at each other slyly.

 

maybe at some point jisoo just didn't want to lose to wonbin in admitting feelings first. or maybe she just didn't like him enough to take any actions yet. wonbin clearly has started to invade her life actively- he would tag along jisoo to travel to seogwipo city and help sorting out her granny's airbnb business. if jiwoon has a longer school holiday, wonbin would also let him join in soccer practices for fun. jisoo is really grateful for this, but again, she is not used to engaging in serious relationships, so she just cannot handle confrontations in any forms. perhaps the deeper question, does she trust him enough to open up her heart?

🦋they either do it in a motel room or at wonbin's single room. in fact, when wonbin first followed her back to seogwipo city, she thought he wanted to try it in her dance studio- which she later realised, not a bad idea. a couch in a room full of mirrors- not ideal, but exciting for sure.

 

🦋jisoo talks about her family with wonbin. not that she is trying to get any advice or consolation, but just a way out for her to relief even just a tiny bit of negativity. it feels no pressure to talk to wonbin about these stuff, because she can always convince herself that he doesn't care.

 

🦋jisoo shamelessly takes some of wonbin's moves as inspiration for her choroegraphy.

 

🦋they are both aware that they are not exclusive. wonbin probably has 65 more other girls he flirts with, whereas jisoo has this mr. doctor-to-be. wonbin cannot deny the fact that he feels jealous, but at the same time his commitment issues are still dominant.

ahn jaehyun, if anything, is the 'umchinah' (mom's friend's son), like the golden boy you see on tv shows. he is kind, considerate and a gentlemen who gets flying colours at school. a bit of an introvert who finds it more comfortable when alone, yet that never stopped people from being charmed by him. born in a upper middle class family in jeju island, jaehyun has lead an easy and sufficient life. his parents have raised him as a principled and altruistic person, who is willing to share the love he received with other people. jisoo brings excitement and surprises to his routine and mundane life. sure he works in a hospital where life and death happens everyday, but jisoo is simply an unpredictable existence that he allows her to grow on him. the chinese say if you work hard enough, you can grind an iron bar into a needle- so will his patience and preserverance be enough to move her?

LOVE STORY 

jisoo and jaehyun first met in jiwoon's high school. it was the school's 100th anniversary dinner and this year, even parents and guardians were invited. jiwoon usually never bother jisoo with too much presence at school events but since he has been elected as the vice president of the student council this year, he asked jisoo with puppy eyes if she could come and see him give a speech. of course jisoo agreed. jaehyun, coincidentally, was one of the outstanding alumni the school specifically invited for the anniversary dinner. since jiwoon's high school was a boys' school, jisoo, as a young female- who wouldn't pass as a working teacher- who came alone, caught jaehyun's attention. in fact, jisoo caught most of the guests' attention except for jiwoon's close friends who knew about his family situation. she was simply too young to pass as a parent.

 

as jaehyun was on stage sharing his experience and memories as an alumni, jisoo realised they actually go to the same university. that was when jiwoon whispered next to her, "i wish i could be a doctor someday," he didn't finish the sentence but jisoo knew what he was going to say next, so that he could save people like mom. she replied, "jiwoon-ah, nuna will take care of the money. you just focus on getting good grades, alright?"

 

just like any other parents, jisoo immediately approached jaehyun after all the speeches have been given to ask him more information on getting into the med school. out of all the tiger moms, jaehyun felt like speaking with jisoo would be the easiest and naturally started a conversation with her, cheekily using her as a way to get out from the mom crowd. as they spoke more, he realised she was also from jju, and in her first year. as both jiwoon and jisoo's senior, he offered to watch out for them both and will show jisoo around the campus on his next day off. jaehyun couldn't deny the fact he was attracted by her unique aura from first sight- she is friendly, but detached, yet keeps you wanting more with her mystery. which was probably why he offered to drive her back to jeju city after the dinner, definitely not something he usually does on first encounters.

 

eventually they started hanging out. just as jaehyun promised, despite on his internship with jju hospital, he still compromised his day off of sleeping sixteen hours straight and took her on a tour around jju after her class. when jiwoon was not around, jisoo looked more like a university student to him. she was more carefree, more light-hearted and slightly more excited about happenings around- or maybe it was just the endorphins after all her dance classes. they began going on coffee dates, quick lunches and even five am convenient store meetups- jisoo was simply hungover whereas jaehyun was about to leave for his hospital shift. somehow it worked between them because they were both so busy and everything was low maintenance.

INTERACTIONS 

it is just easy and comfortable with jaehyun. he is a few years older and wiser than her, and is an absolute gentleman who allows her to decide the pace of their relationship. there are times when jaehyun would initiate a bit of skinship like patting her head or pulling her into a friendly hug, but nothing more than these. to the point jisoo is unsure if he has no intentions of developing something more with her. but frankly speaking, jisoo is definitely more comfortable in leaving things in the air because she has no extra energy in dealing with relationship problems.

 

if jaehyun ever so lucky got day offs over the weekend, he would drive to seogwipo city with jisoo. while jisoo works at the studio he would tutor jiwoon on his schoolwork for free. jisoo couldn't deny the fact that she was taking advantage of his affection. she tried to deny his offer but he retorted, "it's not like i'm coming over every week, it's like once every month, how much troubles would there be?" 

 

jisoo sometimes would rather jaehyun just straight up tell her he wants to have with her or something, instead of being like a person too good to be true. the longer she lets this relationship exist, the more she feels like wasting his time. because she does not want to hurt him at all. jisoo fears that he is slowly bringing the good out of her and then she gets too attached. what if they start dating and she gives him up like her ex again? what if she is still not ready to involve someone else in her life? jisoo believes jaehyun deserves the greatest love in the world but she forgot that maybe she herself deserve such genuine and pure love too.

🦋jaehyun plans to specialise in radiology as a doctor.

 

🦋jisoo actually told jaehyun about her business with wonbin. she candidly told him she has troubles committing to a relationship but jaehyun didn't seem intimidated by that.

 

🦋jisoo tries to make up for all the tutoring by bringing jaehyun lunch to the hospital in between classes so somehow the people at the hospital could recognise jisoo too. but that is the most she could do for him at this stage.

 

🦋jisoo genuinely thinks jaehyun is also like a mentor to her so she sometimes asks for his advice on her making career plans and asks him a lot about how to get into med school for her brother.

 

🦋jaehyun has had two ex-girlfriends before meeting jisoo.

 

🦋they sometimes hang out at happy bean cafe and one world cafe and lounge, but they eventually find it more comfortable when it's just the two of them in the convenient store or in his car without all the interested stares from jisoo's peers.

- i don't mind if you decide her roommates but if not i could picture alice being in the same room as jisoo tbh

- i will leave her direction a bit vague as it is, i guess the main idea is for her to move on and start to live for herself? but you could be creative on this if it fits the story c:

- i honestly did not intend for a love triangle in the first place but now that seventeen has made a comeback i fell in love with them all over again;; they don't have be a major part of the story i just thought the relationship part is a bit too small for all the content. basically wonbin is too much of a boy whereas jaehyun is just too good for her, but then again jisoo, of all people, would know that life is not fairytale and she just can't have everything. you can decide how it goes & however it works best with the story! i don't mind who ends up with jisoo but i do hope she could have someone next to her to take some of her stress and burden away at the end of the story.
