NAME　jung misun

OTHER NAMES

► min jungsun 민정선 -- his birthname. after being adopted by his aunt and uncle, he decided he needed a name change (so he wouldn't be known as jung jungsun). there may still be a few old documents and prior yearbook photos with his old name.

► min qingshan 敏情善 -- the chinese translation of his birthname that he used while he lived in hong kong. due to his name change, he isn't called this anymore.

NICKNAMES

► sun -- this started out as a nickname that his parents affectionately called him, especially his mother, since he was their precious little sun. his aunt and uncle call him this as well since it's essentially his name. this nickname continues to follow him, everyone usually just calls him sun anyways.

► baby boy -- misun is really cute and soft that people are drawn to calling him baby boy most of the time. it also doesn't help that he can easily be picked up by anyone who's taller and stronger than him as well.

► nation's little brother -- a nickname that started on produce 101. many trainees have spoken about misun, that his appearance and aura just make them want to baby him and bring out the older brother inside of them. he still gives off younger vibes and such even younger guys tend to baby him.

► stutter boy -- misun has a small stutter he developed after his accident. it used to be worse, but he was able to reduce a bit of it in time. though the point of this name was that it was used as a insult towards misun when he moved  to korea after his aunt and uncle adopted him. misun doesn't like when one puts emphasis on his stutter, it's something that he's very self-conscious about.

► loner -- another insult that classmates called him, calling him a loner because he had no parents. that his aunt and uncle only took him in cause they felt sorry. that he's truly alone.

► dumpling -- misun has very prominent cheeks, round and cute like little dumplings. it's not a surprise that this is a nickname as well.

► korean -- originally from korea, his parents continued to teach him korean as his first language. used to have a bit of a satoori accent that faded when he lived in hong kong, but some of it has returned since coming back to live in korea again. since returning to korea, he uses haem and haeng instead of hyung. 100%

► mandarin -- his mother is of chinese descent and taught misun mandarin at a young age. he also lived in hong kong for a long period of time. since coming back to korea, he has lost a bit of his fluency though sometimes it just comes back to him at random times. he likes to study mandarin as a way to connect to his mom. 86%

► english -- he learned a bit of english from his uncle who studied in america for a long time when he was younger. he has an accent, but his english is pretty easy to follow along. he has problems with pronunciation and grammar, but he can still get his point across. 51%

► sun -- this time around, misun drops the first part of his name to now be known as sun, even forgoing the hangul (usually stylizing his name in capital letters). he wants to be the sun that breaks through the rain and lights up his fans' lives.

PERSONA

► rising phoenix -- while he was under horizon, he was known as the canary due to his beautiful and powerful voice (that and male canaries are the ones who sing). now that he is under ground zero, he wants to be known as the rising phoenix due to the fact that he's been through a lot (missing the cut off to wanna one, debuting with horizon and then disbanding due to their company collapsing, and now redebuting with ground zero). it signifies that no matter what happens, he will get back up and continue to rise.

► produce 101 -- misun appeared on the second season of produce 101, representing as the only trainee under jyp. many trainees were left speechless, especially after the first season with somi. misun had a lot of expectations set upon him. but everyone soon found out what a lovely voice misun had and paired up with his adorable mannerisms, he was quick to be a fan favorite among everyone. he further grew popularity when it was revealed that his uncle was the producer of the track in the same place from season 1. sadly, despite his popularity, he ended at rank 12, right at the cut off.
