Saera seems to be happy go lucky at first meeting, and second meeting, and third. It's just the overall way she tends to come off to people because who doesn't love someone bright. But that's exactly her problem, she cares what other people think and hides any side she deems bad so people only see the good sides. Most people won't lay out all their bad qualities on the table but Saera is just a total people pleaser. She finds the qualities that people like about her and amplifies them by 10 so she can seem even more likable. For example, if some says she she's good at acting cute she'll do it more often like making her voice higher or doing "natural" aegyo.
Saera adopted this long ago, when she was struggling to make friends she dressed up like her favorite idols and acted like them to gain friends. Now that she's been in 3 groups that have all failed, its become worse to the point where she loses herself in being what others want her to be. Sacrificing her health and wellbeing for attention. The side of Saera that 99% of people know is this funny girl that's enthusiastic and cheeky. She always finds something to smile about and goes along with what the majority says. But there's a lot of work that goes into being likable. She does this on the daily, basically morphing herself into an alternative version of herself for every person.
Those that have seen Saera when she gets in the zone for work will know that she takes it very seriously. She spends hours after practicing on her own, doing facial expressions in the mirror so she can be perfect. Saera's life before she became a trainee is short because she trained from such a young age. She was only eight when she became a trainee at Pledis. But before she became the Saera from Pledis that everyone knows, she was Lim Saeryeong from Seoul. Her family is well off, they live in Seongbuk-dong, nestled in the foothills of a mountain overlooking Seoul. It's also the filming location of Parasite, where the Park family lived. Her family's house is a two floor four bedroom and four bathroom house with a pool in the back.
She is the only child to chef parents that run a chain of five star restaurant all over Asia. It wasn't your typical family run restaurant where she could run around and talk to the customers. It was a high end restaurant where people dressed up in fancy clothes just to dine there. It's the kind of place you take someone if you really want to impress them. Saera was taught how to cook at a very young age. Her parents taught her sometimes but she mostly attended cooking classes after school since she was busy. They wanted her to take over the family business and expand it in the future. Saera did love food since she was around it so much. She was a chubby kid, always eating and like experimenting with food. She actually got made fun of in school for being chubbier than her classmates. Her closest friend was the housekeeper, she was there for her more than her parents were and she liked helping her make food.
For a while she actually wanted to be a housekeeper because that's who she looked up to. But she dreams changed when she discovered Girls Generation on TV. It was during their Gee era and Saera fell in love with them. She even made her parents buy her red skinny jeans to match them and would dance on the couch while singing to their song. She was absolutely hooked, everytime a group that she liked came out she tried to learn the dance and song and buy similar clothes. It also happened when Pretty Girl by Kara came out, Hot Issue by 4Minute, Genie by Girls Generation and Diva by After School. Originally she didn't have much confidence since she was bullied in school but now she walked around like a celebrity. She was still chubby but she didn't care, she dressed like her favorite idols and it made her gain confidence.
Her parents called her obsession with Kpop fooling around and didn't really care for it as long as she did her homework and go to cooking class. They only got mad when it took away from those times. But it wasn't just a phase, Saera wanted to be an idol and she told her parents in 2010. They both practically laughed in her face and said absolutely not. They wanted her to be a chef and that was final. Saera ran up to her poster filled room and cried but downstairs the housekeeper was telling her parents how passionate Saera was about singing and dancing. That she was actually kind of good and if they actually watched her they could see that she was talented. It was the first time the housekeeper spoke up and she almost lost her job but it was worth it because they actually let Saera audition as long as the housekeeper is the one to pick her up and drop her off and make sure she stays on top of her homework and cooking classes.
That weekend Saera went to SM's weekly auditions with the housekeeper. She wore a recreated version of Girls Generation's Oh outfits. The pink belt wrapped around white shorts and a white cropped tee that had her little tummy peeking out of. She wrote 21 on with a sharpie and put rhinestones on it copying her favorite member Yuri, the rhinestones were her idea. Knee high pink converse instead of the pink heels and a red hat to match Yuri's. Lastly she had the pink cropped jacket that she got personally made to match the girls and had her name embroidered under the Girls Generation logo like she was a member herself. She also added a pair of shades for dramatic effect.
She was 100% sure she would make it, she looked fabulous and she was about to bring the house down with her talent. Saera was the smallest one in her audition group, everyone else just stood there when they sang but she did the dance and even winked at the staff member. Her performance made them smirk and giggle but she didn't make it to the second round. Saera cried a river on the way home until her housekeeper bought her icecream. Her parents thought it would be the end of her singer dream but one rejection wasn't enough to make her give up. She auditioned for Cube next, dressing like the Hyuna from 4minute's Hot Issue era and did the same thing she did at SM, sing and dance with all her might. But like SM, she didn't make it either. Her parents were getting tired of her nonsense and told her to give it up, even told the housekeeper to stop encouraging her. So she listened, well the housekeeper did.
Saera didn't give up on her dreams and a few weeks later she begged for the housekeeper to take her to the Pledis audition to try her luck there. She spent the last few weeks learning the dance and song to Magic by Orange Caramel. It didn't take much convincing for the housekeeper to agree and sneak to bring her to the audition. She dressed just like Nana with the big bow and performed as best as she could. They were the only company that asked her why she wanted to be an idol, and it was her answer that got her accepted. She said, "Actually... my parents don't want me to be an idol. I begged auntie to take me here because everyday I dance and sing at home and it makes me feel happy like when I eat bungeoppang! I don't have many friends at school so I want to make people feel that felt lonely like me feel happy and warm too." And that was how she was accepted into Pledis.

In 2021 she became apart of the cast of Xcalibur like him, he played the main part but she was just one of the background cast yet that meant spending a lot of time together. Dokyeom might seem very outgoing but he's actually only like that to people he's close to. He struggles with being overlooked in Seventeen unless he's doing something funny and it hurts him because he works so hard. Saera started training in Pledis in 2010 at 8 years old. She appeared in a few MVs during her training time. She was the youngest trainee and even ex Afterschool members remember her as an enthusiastic and passionate young trainee. At first she struggled to keep up because she was chubbier than the other kids and she never had official dance or singing training before. But one thing was certain, she was a fast learner. She trained for 6 years in total making her a well rounded dancer and singer. She ended up shedding all the weight and as per her agreement with her parents, she got picked up by her housekeeper and still did her homework and took cooking classes.
In 2016 she went to Produce 101 with other Pledis trainees. She was only 14 during the show but got good ratings anyways because she was so cute. Actually the main reason she went viral in Korea was because she was constantly eating, either bringing snacks or sneaking snacks or asking the other contestants for a bite. She was also a well rounded performer for her age. By the end of the show she got 22nd place so she didn't debut in ioi.
Instead she became a member of Pledis Girlz while Nayoung and Kyulkyung were promoting in ioi. After ioi disbanded Saera made her official debuted in Pristin. She was the main vocalist, lead dancer, and maknae. Pristin only had two EPs before debuting a subunit, Pristin-V that Saera was also apart of. But then two years later Pristin disbanded. Saera was one of the members that decided to leave Pledis because of bad management. Even though she's been there for 9 years, she didn't feel like she was a priority and they hindered Pristin's potential success.
Saera decided to follow her other members Minkyeong, Eunwoo, and Yebin to OSR Entertainment to form the group Hinapia. She thought this would finally be her big break but after they debuted they only had two singles and then disbanded because of financial issues within the company.
The whole time Saera was optimistic about her career, but after Hinapia disbanded she felt lost. If she moved back in with her parents she knew they would give her a hard time. So instead she moved in with her housekeeper secretly while her parents thought she was preparing to be in another group. Like everyone she opened a social media account to interact with her fans. She posted a picture of herself and got praised for her ant-like waist claiming she looked so pretty. She started to get the same attention she got on Produce 101 that died down when she was in ioi.
Actually, Saera lost all that weight from stress after Hinapia disbanded, she didn't have much of an appetite. Before Saera was known for posting food pics and pics of her eating on the groups social media so fans in her comments kept saying they missed the food obsessed Saera they used to know. Then she had the amazing idea to start doing mukbangs instead. After a year of starting YouTube she has over 1 million followers now. She eats a lot in her videos yet never seemed to gain any weight which shocks people everytime and keeps them coming back for more. She also live streams on Afrecca TV and ate everything each time so no one could say it was fake either. In 2021 she got casted as part of the ensemble in Xcalibur the musical. She's finally getting the fame she wanted before, at least her mukbang videos make people happy and feel like they're eating with someone.
But actually, in order to keep her reputation she developed bulimia. It started as her throwing up after mukbangs so she can keep her weight down but it's developed into throwing up after eating in general in fear of gaining weight. She doesn't realize that she's being more damaging to herself and other people by making them believe that's actually achievable. When she heard about Produce Angel she was so excited to participate and get the chance to debut again.
