Izzy was known as an Anti Idol for a reason. While she has the looks and the talent, her personality doesn't match that of an idol. Since she came from Brooklyn, New York she's an American at heart. Her parents taught her to be herself and have always encouraged her to do what she wanted. She's really not judgmental at all so when she came to Korea and was exposed to all the criticism and negativity over minuscule things, it was surprising to her.

Izzy is happy go lucky. The type of girl that just wants to sing karaoke, drink starbucks, and touch some grass. It doesn't take much to make her happy and she wants to spread that happiness to others so she's a really friendly person. Even for the shy people she's easy to talk to so you don't have to worry about it being awkward. Some people think her friendliness can come off as flirty especially since she's touchy but she's just a welcoming and warm person deep down. Coming from America and being exposed to all types of people so she's an open minded person. She does what makes her happy and she thinks others should too. She judges people on how they are as an individual, not what other people thinks which makes her so accepting towards others no matter their repuatation.

It's easy for her to empathize with others, she might cry when someone else cries because she tends to take on others emotions. She cares deeply for people, she checks up on her friends often and her house is always open to any of them. She can listen to someone complain for hours and won't regret it because she knows ranting can help. But then she'll take on their emotions and feel bad for the rest of the day just thinking about what they're going through. That's when she tells Minsik who ends up being her outlet for other peoples burdens and gladly he doesn't take on any of it.

She can be the biggest advocate and is so optimistic, she'll tell you to do what your heart wants, who cares what other thinks. But when it comes to herself she struggles to take her own advice. She holds a lot of her emotions in, if it wasn't for Minsik she doesn't know how she'd get through such a hard time. She wants to be happy for other people so she'll ignore the problem at hand and act like it doesn't exist even if it's bothering her. She just doesn't like conflict but then she refuses to change herself and follow what society says so it's a constant struggle for her. Sometimes she reads the mean comments on Instagram and cries while she posts another picture with the caption Bad B because she refuses to let negative people stop her from being a hottie but either way it still hurts.

With emotions that aren't negative she has no problem showing them. Everything she does is extra, she smiles big and laughs extra hard. Forget about when she tells a story, it's like watching a one woman play with how dramatic she is. She's bad at hiding those type of emotions so when she wants to laugh she will even if she's the only one doing it. 

She has random bursts of spontaneity that'll cause her do something daring or dumb. She loves trying new things but sometimes it just leads to poor decisions. She has a weird side to her like she would overshare something personal that no one really needed to know but it's funny or she would act a fool in the back while in her own world. She's just naturally dimwitted and honest but some people see it as her being an attention seeker. She burps, scratches her , announces that she has to fart because she doesn't want to compromise on comfortability even though she knows she'll get backlash for it. While she doesn't mind the attention it isn't on purpose. If you ask Izzy's parents, she was dancing since before she was even born. She kicked her mom like crazy when she was still in her belly and by the time she got out anytime music played she was dancing before she even knew what dancing was. Izzy was born in Brooklyn, New York as the only child for 2 years until her little brother was born. She loved music for as long as she could remember, dancing in her car seat to radio hits was the norm for her. She was put in dancing and singing classes from when she was 3. That soon turned into acting where she got small roles in commercials and kids shows. She was loving every minute of it. She even moved to LA with her mom so she could get more work since she was making money and she was so passionate about it while her dad and brother stayed in Brooklyn. Whenever anyone asked her what she wanted to be when she got older her response was always the same, famous.

The whole family met every school break and traveled to korea once a year. On a family vacation when Izzy was 9 she got scouted by SM Entertainment. She actually had no idea what kpop was but her parents thought she was too young to train so much so they rejected the offer. But after her dad showed her S.E.S later that day she begged join the company. Her parents were able to come to an agreement with SM that she'd only train during the summers until she was old enough. So for the next 4 years she spent the whole summer in Korea with her family and went to train at SM. When she wasn't in Korea she was still doing acting and plays in LA until she turned 13 and moved to Korea to become a full time trainee.

When both Izzy and Minsik are busy and none of their friends can babysit, her mom flies over to take care of her. Her family has and always has been big supporters of her dreams. Her mom is especially happy for her to go on Produce Angel and try again while her dad is a bit worried about her reliving the whole hate thing. As for her brother he's the total opposite of Izzy, he doesn't like attention at all he is really awkward and shy. He's never had a girlfriend before so Izzy is constantly trying to find someone to hook him up with.

DAUGHTER: SKYLAR BADA KWON ( SKY ) [3]Skylar is a really friendly little girl. She isn't shy to go up to just about anyone and spark a conversation. She has a big soft heart that makes her want to help anyone she sees. Just like her parents she loves singing and dancing, especially to their songs. Like any other kid she has an endless supply of energy that's exhausting, she can have you chasing her for hours and she still won't be tired. Whenever she sees anyone look upset she offers them a hug, but now she asks Minsik or Izzy first because she would literally go up to random people before. She already says that she wants to be a singer like her parents and has a big personality. Sometimes she can be stubborn and hard to listen, especially when she gets told no. But either way when she starts crying she runs to her parents anyways. She cannot hide her reactions whatsoever but she can't hide her love for her parents even more. 

BOYFRIEND: KWON MINSIK ( SIK-K ) [28]Minsik is an amazing father and boyfriend. As a person he's really chill and easy going, he has a comedic side of him that most people don't see because Kwon Minsik is actually pretty shy but Sik-K is really charismatic on stage. His stage persona and the actual him are so different, even he views them as different people. That's why he doesn't get offended by hate comments. He can be alot more strict and cold than Izzy can so she asks him for advice sometimes. Some people called Minsik a coward for not defending Izzy at all but it was actually Izzy who told him not to so he doesn't ruin his career. Even though he's busy with his solo activities he always makes time for Skylar and to give Izzy a foot rub. When Izzy is sad he comforts her with warm words and takes her phone when she's being too negative. She plops on Minsik's lap and he automatically cuddles her and kisses her head because he knows it makes her feel better. They've been together for 6 years and they still seem like they're in the honeymoon phase. Minsik might have this whole boy persona and go to clubs but it's all for show since he's a rapper. He'd never cheat on her and she knows that. The reason they're not married is because they never found the right time. They didn't want a rushed shotgun wedding just because she was pregnant and to impress people that didn't matter. Minsik also went into the military from 2020 to early 2022. It has nothing to do with them not loving each other. 

EX GROUPMATES: EXIDIzzy is still really close to all EXID members, they each have their own schedules now but still find time to hang out all together. Even after Izzy left all the members reached out to her to go see her. They babysit Skylar sometimes too and sent a food truck during her MV filming for ZGZG. Le is the one that helped her write the lyrics for both her songs actually, even when Izzy writes it herself she always sends it to Le first. 

FRIEND: OH SEHUN ( EXO ) [28]Izzy was friends with Sehun since she was in SM. They're the same age so she was comfortable around him and they went to school together. Sehun is like a second brother to her, her actual brother isn't the annoying kind but Sehun is the annoying brother that she didn't ask for but loves anyways. It was her idea to put her on 1 Billion Views even though he knew it was risky because he supports her wholeheartedly.

She used to have a thing against Amber but they completely squashed it after Sulli passed and are on good terms now. They all support each others activities and comment on each others posts on social media all the time but never actively hung out. By the time she became a full time trainee in 2007, Izzy was already a well rounded singer, dancer, and actress. Since she spoke english they also trained her in rapping which was no problem for her since her dad was already a hip hop music lover. Since she's been on set many times before in LA, she was used to the long hours of rehearsals. But Korea was different because they didn't have the same work limits for minors yet. She was used to her mom being there too to keep her company although instead of going home she went to a dorm full of other trainees. She still videochat her mom everyday though.

She was known as being an all rounder at SM, compared to other trainees she was one of the ones that everyone thought would debut in f(x). Even her mom assured her that she was sure to debut because she was so talented. She became friends with the other members too as they were all sure she'd be the main rapper, lead vocalist and dancer of f(x). But they decided they wanted a tomboy of the group and Amber fit that role better than her so she ended up being replaced. Izzy stayed at SM for two years after f(x) debuted until 2011 hoping they'd debut a new girl group soon. But since it never happened when she found out that AB Entertainment and producer Shinsadong Tiger were scouting trainees to debut a new group she joined them instead.

In 2012 she finally made her debut in EXID as the main vocalist and main dancer with the single "Whoz That Girl". The track did alright on the charts, it peaked at No. 36. But just two months after debut, three members left with one going to a different group instead and debuting in BESTIE in 2013. It was then when final members Solji and Hyerin were added to the lineup. The group didn't do very well until 2014 with Up & Down after Hani's fancam went viral. The new found success was really overwhelming because now she was getting followed by dispatch all the time and her schedule was packed. She couldn't do the same old activities that she used to like go partying with friends or visit her family in America in peace. But she was finally famous like she always wanted and loved every minute of it despite the lack of privacy.

After Hani she was the most popular member and got many CFs but her career came crashing down as fast as it started when she saw she was announced as Dispatch's new year couple with Sik-K in 2015. They revealed that the couple have been dating for a few months and her agency came out to confirm the news. Izzy got a lot of hate during that time, it was the first time she experienced the true dark sides of fame. EXID was still promoting Up & Down snagging music show awards left and right. But when it was her part the crowd's cheers were signficantly less than other members. Even when they got their win she was going to say something but someone in the crowd screamed 'shut up' so she handed the mic to Hani instead. She got the most hate she's ever recieved. Sik-K was unknown at the time, just a wannabe underground rapper. After the news came out he made his debut, not to ride the sudden wave of notoriety he was getting but because he was already working on it before. She had a lot of male fans that saw her as innocent and the fact that she was dating a 'trashy rapper' ruined their image of her. Since her stage name is Izzy, in Korean it's pronounced the same as easy so people were calling her easy Izzy.

She went from a well loved idol to hated overnight, people started picking on her for random things like her weight and visuals all of a sudden. She even lost 7kg during the short lived Up & Down promotions after the news released alone because of the backlash. Up & Down promotions ended soon after and EXID was preparing for their Ah Yeah comeback. But Izzy decided to terminate her contract and go back to America to be with her family and stay off social media. The pressure was too much for her and mostly she didn't want to ruin EXID's new found fame when it just started. Izzy watched from the sidelines as EXID continued to do well, even Minsik went on Show Me The Money 4 that same year and got signed to H1ghr Music. As EXID only gained popularity, Izzy became forgotten in the industry. She was happy that her friends and boyfriend were doing so well in their careers, she supported them wholeheartedly. In the mean time she went back and forth from America to Korea, producer Shinsadong Tiger took her under his wing as a writer allowing her to write songs for EXID and other groups while doing a few OSTs when she got the chance because music was still her dream. In every EXID album she was in the credits and thank you section of the girls. Though she remained unseen out of fear for herself and those around her.

She found out she was pregnant in early 2019 releasing an official statement on her Instagram. She updated her followers on her current situation that she will be giving birth in a few months and it was trending in Korea. While some were empathetic and wished her a speedy recovery others were still bitter towards her, including her old fans, current EXID fans and now Minsik's fans. The hate came back 10 times worse than last time, now she was being called a for not getting married first and even worse people were calling her unborn child a bastard. From all the hate and stress Izzy gave birth two weeks early to a healthy baby girl. She was named Skylar Bada Kwon. Izzy gave birth in Korea and lived with Minsik but after a few months she went to America to stay with her parents for a while to get more help. Izzy was going through a lot of emotions at that time, even though she took a break from social media again she still saw herself in Korean news channels and instantly felt anxious just thinking about all the hate she was getting. Dealing was that and the emotions of postpartum depression it was a lot for her and started to hurt her relationship with Minsik too who had his own career he was working on. So it was best to go back home for a little, Minsik still found time to visit her though.

When EXID announced they were going to go on a indefinite hiatus to focus on their solo activities, Izzy was the first one people blamed like she was the cause for their sudden downfall. When it really had nothing to do with her. She was minding her own business in America the whole time anyways, basically hiding from the critics like before. Her depression got worse when someone she almosted debuted with committed suicide. But that’s also when she had a big realization that changed her mindset. There she was in America, hiding away from the public in fear of what a bunch of strangers would comment under her photos and articles. Strangers who are so miserable with their own lives that they take it out on other people like her. She let it consumer her so much that it was ruining her relationship with a guy that truly loved her. At one point Izzy too felt suicidal, and knowing someone who did it hit home for her making her realize that she wasn't the only person going through that, it's an issue that needs to change. She put her foot down and decided to no longer live her life in fear of what others would say. She wants to be the kind of person that her daughter can look up to.

So she posted on social media again, her first post after her long letter was a faceless picture of her daughter. She also moved back in with Minsik in early 2020 and even featured on his song Addy in his Headliner Album. After finding out she was in Korea, Sehun also reached out to her to feature in Exo-SC’s song 1 Billion Views. When the MV dropped it was her first appearance since she promoted for Up & Down with EXID. There were a lot of antis but instead she focused on the positive comments complimenting her voice or acknowledging how amazing her body looked for someone who gave birth less than a year ago. Izzy really focused on improving herself in 2020 by working out physically and mentally with yoga and mindfulness techniques. She shed basically all her pregnancy weight and took vocal and dance classes again since it was something she always enjoyed.

By 2021 she made her solo debut with the single Easy ft. Sik-K. It was a dig at fans who called her Easy Izzy in the past and peaked at 34 on the charts. It also became the theme song for her personal YouTube channel called Not So Izzy (이지 않다) where she posts things like vlogs, storytimes, work out tips, yoga, mommy and daughter fashion hauls, song covers, trying new things, and recipes. It really depends on what she feels like posting. At first she got a lot of hate and still does but didn’t let it stop her from posting, now some of her haters turned into actual fans. She wanted to show that idols are true people too and inspire others to live their life the way they want which she successfully did. She still gets a lot of hate everytime she even posts a picture with Minsik, but it doesn’t bother her as much anymore. In late 2021 she released another single called ZGZG that peaked at 59. It was after that that Produce Angel reached out to her to be on the show and she thinks it’s a great opportunity to really get back into the idol world. She wants to fully tell her story and how it affected her, since going back on social media she just ignored the hate, not really addressing the root problem. Maybe hearing her experience will give a reminder to mean commenters that idols are actual people and show that having a child shouldn't be the end of one's career. She also wants to show to her daughter that even with obstacles, she can achieve anything she puts her mind to.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A KPOP IDOL?"Ever since I was little I wanted to be famous. I did a lot of acting and performing when I was younger but seeing Kpop for the first time was different. Performing with a group of girls my age seemed so fun to me. I liked the idea of being in a group with members who were like sisters because I think being a solo artist can get quite lonely. I'm ranting now but basically I like and miss the idea of sharing the stage with a close group of friends."

There's not much of a difference between Izzy and her faceclaim. She's 170cm and  54kg. She's an attractive and slim woman with black hair and fair skin though she does enjoy a little tan now and then. 

fASHIONIzzy has gotten so many comments on social media that she doesn't dress like a mom. But what does a mom even dress like? Just because she's a mom doesn't mean her fashion sense has to be tragic. She's still a certified bad . Izzy doesn't shy away from crop tops and short dresses, she even loves a good pair of heels if it's worth it.
