one of the first things you notice about luey is his neverending optimism and friendliness. he's always full of smiles, brightening up a room with just his presence. he does a good job of finding the good in any situation, helping to ease others especially in more dire situations. resilient, luey always believe things will get better. he's also quick to bounce back, moving on from a failure to try once again! people tend to flock to him due to his natural sociability and charisma. there's just something that draws people to him whether it be his overall friendliness or caring attitude. his innate ability to make others laugh is contagious and one is never too sad for long when they are near luey. he treats everyone the same kind of respect, wanting it to given in return. he doesn't understand the point in being disrespectful. with that said, he's always been a hardworking individual. he put his heart and dedication into anything he does, whether it be training, producing, or even simple chores. one thing's for sure is that it's never a dull moment when luey is around.

luey is definitely the playful type. more often then naught, he is found acting like a child and being the giant goof that he is. sometimes being playful works in his favor, lifting others when they are sad, but his playfulness has it's drawbacks. he has a tendency to be playful at the wrong times, cauing others to get annoyed and even angry at him. he's also a very clumsy person, not with just his action, but even his words. his mind is always going a mile a minute, never stopping, so that usually has him mixing words up on the daily or just outright saying the wrong things at the wrong times. another layer to luey is that he is downright loyal to his close ones and as one might thing, it's both a positive and a negative. positive in that you will always have a friend on your side no matter what, but a negative to that he can be blind to his friends. blind to any wrongdoings that his friends may do. but for certain, his loyalness can be compared to a pet dog, ready to defend his human at the drop of a hat.

he has one major drawback and that is his co-dependency. due to the way he was brought up, he clings to those who give him any kind of attention or sliver of love. he will demand their full attention to himself and if he doesn't, he will practically stop at nothing to get the attention...even if it means acting like a fool, beliving any kind of attention is still attention. adding together a lot of his traits and despite his age, he seems much younger than he is due to his childish demeanor. he can be stubborn and brattish when the moment calls for it. emotional and can cry at the top of a hat, it's really no surprise that he gets mistaken for necalli's maknae a lot of times. to sum it all up, luey may seem like a happy-go-lucky guy on the outside, but he has lot more depth to him. on the inside, he is more insecure than the confidence he shows on stage. mainly due to the fact he was never given the praise he deserved from those he wished for, he has a rather hard time accepting compliments and becomes worried about failures. it becomes a never-ending loop for him and can easily get lost and swept up in his own depression when he isn't paying attention to himself.

BACKGROUND

it all started when he was born.

chae wontak, first and only born son from chae myungjun and hyejoo. his birth was celebrated by their families, but behind their fake smiles, there really wasn't a lot of love all around. wontak, at a young age, learned that some kids' parents are nice while others aren't. his parents were never physical with him, though he was mostly ignored. his parents were too busy with work, too busy with the office that they couldn't spare their only son with even a hello.

then his family made a big move to the united kingdom, job opportunity he heard his parents saying in passing when they thought he was asleep.

learning a new language was daunting, but wontak overcame it, or moreso, luey overcame it. luey tried not to let his parents' lack of love bother him too much, rather keeping himself busy with school work and his new friends, but maybe, just maybe, it was bothering him deep down. he did everything his parents asked of him. he studied hard, learned all the instruments they wanted him to learn, studied new languages. he worked hard, so so hard.

but nothing could get his parents' attention.

so naturally, luey just did the next thing he thought would get their attention. calls from school about interrupting class, causing a ruckus. calls from school about being so intelligent, but turning in empty homework. any attention, right?

but not even that worked.

it wasn't until luey stumbled upon khip hop at the age of seventeen after scrolling through videos on youtube where he fell down the rabbit hole. their raps and unique vocals knew how to sing to his soul, it was his refuge.

for four years, luey listened to khip hop, rapping over his favorite rappers did an idea come to mind.

his parents wanted him to follow them into the business route, but luey did not. he would surely hate himself more than he already kinda did if had a desk job. so he did what any rebeling child would do--

searched up any open online auditions to companies...right?

so that's exactly what luey did, filmed a haphazardly-made audition tape and sent it out to all the open online auditions.

and surprisingly, he got a response back...by the one and only sunlight ent.

→　anime　not a big surprise, to be honest. while everyone watched reality shows, luey was too busy getting lit to pokémon and digimon. that was just the beginning of his spiral into serious anime and he's never found himself bored of watching anime. he's always up to talk about anime and give out reccomendations! he honestly doesn't a favorite anime, he loves a lot...and i mean a lot. so whenever the question of favorite anime is ever asked, he will straight up say "Pokémon!"

→　summer　luey honestly loves summer time, why? because that's when the sun is out and he can go and play to his hearts content and get out of the lonely house. he's always preferred the warmth of the sun's rays on his skin and enjoying hot weather over cold weather.

→　tea　okay, just listen. luey certainly doesn't seem like the type to like tea, but he really does! he obviously grew up in london after all. he'd rather drink tea than soda or other drinks. 

→　dogs　luey is a animal person for sure, but he really loves dogs. it's quite funny because he can be compared to a gold retriever often, but he just really loves dogs okay.

→　the rain　you'd think coming from a country that's known to rain a lot, you'd come to like it? well, that's the total opposite for luey. he really hates the rain because it usually meant that he had to stay indoors where there was no love in his house.

HOBBIES

→　playing soocer　he was quite the active kid when he young and one of his favorite sports was playing soccer. he was actually a really good player and played on his school teams throughout his school years.

→　producing　luey has produced small pieces of songs in the place, nothing concrete or fully complete, but he just loves messing with beats and music to create art. you can usually find luey off in a studio whenever inspiration strikes.

HABITS

→　making tea every morning　much like the saying "don't talk to me unless i've had my coffee", think that, but replace coffee with tea. one of the first things luey does in the morning is make tea for himself and anybody else that might want some.

→　swooning over everyone　being one of the resident chaotic biuals in sunlight entertainment, it's not uncommon to see luey swooning over someone smiling at him or laying a hand on his shoulder.

→　talking　luey loves to talk. he can talk for hours, if one lets him.

FEARS

→　loneliness　due to growing up...practically alone and finally finding a group of friends, he doesn't want to give up the love and warmth he had just found. he hates the crippling fear that everyone will leave him when he knows it not true, but those thoughts always find a way inside your head.

→　rejection　almost as bad as his fear of loneliness, luey has felt rejection...multiple times and he absolutely hates it. after being rejected multiple times and in many different ways, it does damage to you whether you truly show it or not. he doesn't outright show his fear of rejection, one close to him might be able to sense it in the way he reacts. a second hesitation before he says something or wringing his wrists absentmindedly

TALENTS

→　being a certified clown　if there is one thing luey can do is that he for certain can make anyone laugh. he has a nature ability to act up like an idiot or saying mindless things that can make even the most stone-faced person crack with a tiny smile looking at you corbin!

→　switching between high-pitch and low-pitch　luey is most certainly known for his low voice, but one thing most don't know about him is that he knows how to turn his voice high without it sounding too weird (think stray kids' felix). he may not be able to singing in his higher voice, but he sure loves to scare the crap out of people by suddenly going high-pitch on them in the middle of a sentence.

→　playing instruments　luey knows how to play several instruments, thanks to his parents pushing him to learn, but he also knows other instruments because he thought "why not?" the instruments he knows how to play are: piano, violin, french horn, ukuele, ocarina, and pan flute.

→　languages　once again due to his upbrining, luey is knowledgable in a lot of languages (refer to list under languages). he may not be super fluent in all of them, but he can confidently introduce himself and get around a town alright.

TRIVIA

→　surprisingly, luey is a huge tea fanatic and collects a lot of different teas. one of the cabinets back at the dorm is just completely filled with luey's tea bags and boxes.

→　luey is the definition of chaotic biual. he's very much attracted to both genders, something that he has came to terms about back in middle school, but now has to deal with being attacked by very attractive people 24/7.
