Mimi is extremely DETERMINED and PASSIONATE about things. Especially her music and debuting. She truly believes that the Brand New Music girls will be succesful. Mimi is a very CLEAR-HEADED and MATURE person so at times when the other girls are joking around and not taking things seriously, Mimi will literally think to herself: "Oh my god, what did I get myself into with these dorks?". It´s very visible on her face, when she thinks this. Despite thinking the other girls are sometimes dorks and idiots she still loves them and does care about them. She´s just not great at showing it. When people close to her annoy her on purpose, such as waking her up on purpose or poking her a lot or the like, she has a tendency to either swear at them or hit them. Gae Hyun-Min was born in the small town Asan in South Korea but they moved to Incheon when she was 1. She had a sister only a year older than herself who her parents doted on, and thus Mimi was left to herself a lot throughout her childhood. In school she was never the popular girl and this combined with her parents lead her to develop her insensitive and blunt personality. Because if nobody cared about her, then why should she care about them? Mimi also used music to cope with these feelings and she started writing her own raps when she was just 13. This lead to her getting very interested in producing and therefore she started adding music to her rapping and thus creating her own songs. At 16 Mimi decided to apply for K-pop Star as she felt she had the skills necessary to get far. She didn´t think she´d win, but at least she made it onto the actual show. She made it to the fourth round and was picked by Park Jin-Young to train under JYP Entertainment for the two weeks. Sadly this was also the round she got elimated on. Luckily this wasn´t the end for Mimi´s idol journey and she was contacted by Polaris Entertainment to become a trainee. She immediately said yes, however ended up leaving in early 2017 because her mother got sick and Mimi´s father needed help taking care of Mimi´s little sister who had been born in June of 2016. Luckily Mimi´s mother recovered and in November of 2017 Mimi was contacted by Brand New Music who were interested in her. Here she was put with 2 others girls, a rapper and a dancer and the three of them formed a rap and dance team as Daehyeon and Hyun-Mi were both fairly good dancers and great rappers and Jiae was a great dancer and a fairly good rapper, and all three could at least sing decently.
