FLOWER GIRL　this nickname came to be because his parents had decided to use the feminine chinese symbol for hua (which means flower & blossom). many kids had made fun of hua for having such a 'girlie' name. this is definitely not a nickname that hua likes.

FAT HUA　other variations may include piggy, fatty, etc. due to his past weight issues, he was called this many times back as a child along with his flower girl nickname.

all that is left of his chubbiness is his thick thighs. some people still try to call him fat because of his thick thighs. these are the nicknames that hua hates the most.

MAMA　hua is very much a mother figure, you cannot deny it. and hua doesn't! he actually kinda embraces his 'mom' persona. so many of his friends have called him this and it still follows him to this day.

CHN　100%　native tongue in new xiang chinese. it's not quite mandarin so many other chinese members or labelmates might not be able to fully understand his chinese due to his heavy changsha dialect. has taught himself regular mandarin when he joined the beijing dance academy due to dialect being really hard to understand half the time. may slip back into his natural dialect from time to time.

ENG　68%　had originally learned in school, but further studied under sm. a fast learner, mainly has problems in grammar. still has a noticable accent when speaking english.

KOR　15% > 81%　originally had no knowledge of korean when coming to sm, but is a fast learner and has proven to be able to easily converse with the other trainees under sm thanks to his crash course in korean. mainly has issues with hangul, pronunciation, and an accent still coming through, but otherwise seems fluent.

one thing people can certainly agree on is that hua is mature. hua is smart, but he knows he doesn't know everything. he's perfectly fine with others taking away attention from him, prioritizing others before himself. thinking before acting, hua's maturity can mostly be seen through his age as one of the oldest members of the group. another staple of hua is his selflessness. no one is truly selfless, but hua comes close. besides dancing, hua finds joy in seeing others, his friends, succeed. known to drop things when a friend is in need, people tend to go to hua for advice or help, knowing that he would help them no matter what. hua is definitely a dedicated person. strong loyalty to his goals (whether someone or something), he puts in his time and energy to reach those goals. along with his maturity, hua is patient and forgiving. his patience is strong, empathic with others in helping. not a lot of many things irritate or annoy him, giving him a strong tolerance to continue on.

due to his maturity, hua has one hell of a motherly streak. caring for those younger than him (hell, even those older than him too) has always been a trait of his sense he was young. it's in his nature to nurture those close to him. he feels a pull to those close to him, wanting to ensure their safety and security, almost going along the lines of 'too much'. most of the time, hua is rather quiet and keeps to himself. one may not even notice his presence unless someone points him out or he is being spoken too. it's not that he does it on purpose, he's just not a loud person. despite his maturity, hua does have a stubborn streak especially when it involves his schedule and structure. very adamant on his way of things, one may try to get him to change, but it's a fruitless task. as stubborn as a donkey, not much can make hua budge.

maybe it's due to the fact that he's the oldest of the bunch and has always been in his group of friends, but hua can be forgetful. a lot of times, hua has to write down notes for the smallest things in order for him to remember. hua may be a master at hiding it, but he's a rather tense person deep down. behind soft smiles and caring hands, he hides anxiety and exhaustion. he may seem rigid at times, but it's mainly due to him not being able to express his draining thoughts which tend to develop into small mood swings from time to time. hua tends to see a more pessimistic side of things, especially when it revolves around him. sensitive about his own future, he tends to think of the worst and feeling like he's never truly prepared for what's to come. and along with that, insecurity eats him up from deep down. not one whose had lots of friends, he wants to appear likeable and so he tends to nod and agree even if he doesn't quite agree. despite his strong talent in dancing, his skill is never truly advanced to himself even though people tell him otherwise. maybe he's a bit of a perfectionist, but since he was never a childhood dancer, he doesn't see his true worth even now.

►　very protective of his bed. no one is allowed to touch or get near his bed (eventually, a few members will be the exception to this rule...mostly the babies and maaaaaybe jasper but not when he decides to whisper stupid things into his ear at four in the morning).

►　hua is a tea fanatic. he has a wide collection of favorite teas. tea helps him calm down and can be usually seen sipping on tea when the members of maelstrom are being too crazy. so far hua's favorite teas are chamomile and green tea.

standing at an average height, hua is definitely a handsome man that follows sm's great visuals. he has a slim, chiseled face, but has thick thighs from his training as a dancer, liking to hide most of his muscles under his clothes. he doesn't have abs, he has a smooth stomach with hints of definition. most of his muscles are in his upper arms and legs (mostly his thighs) due to dancing and when he played soccer.

his hair hasn't been crazily dyed, usually keeping it's natural black or a soft brown. though he isn't afraid of hair dye and is very interested in experimenting with hair colors. he only has one piercing, a simple piercing in the cartilege in his left ear. he only has one tattoo, something minimalistic, on his right forearm he had done before becoming a trainee.

hua doesn't have a concrete style to say, but he's always seen in jeans (that wrap around his thick thighs perfectly). hardly ever seen without wearing jeans. normally seen wearing t-shirts with band names on them with a jacket or sweater on top. the man loves his sweaters though.

hua would probably have a few solos, probably focusing more on the chinese market due to his ethnicity (and tbh i can see him being particularily popular with chinese netizens and the like). he may have a few korean releases, mainly to give his korean fans something, but he'd probably only due solos in chinese.

GROUP TIDBITS

►　before the sljk program and sm entertainment, hua was still in china and enrolled at the prestigious beijing dance academy. was one of the top students before being persuaded to try out for sm after being scouted for his skills.

►　was acceped into the sljk program after madame kand personally witnessed hua helping younger trainees with their dancing and found him not only a great dancer, but an excellent teacher.

►　there was no doubt that hua wouldn't be apart of the hail team. hua had always had a leader air to him and such, he was placed the captain of the hail team. some trainees even joke around saying that is what madame kang was so fascinated with him, knowing that he'd be the perfect candidate for the position.

►　it's a funny story. hua wasn't all that aware of kpop when he grew up and trained under beijing dance academy. in all honesty, he listens to classical music moreso pop music so when the sm scouter tried scouting him, he really didn't think much from it. yeah, he joined sm without knowing much about kpop.

►　the younger trainees have made into a game to see who can make hua finally cuss real curse words. this game started since hua became a sm trainee and the game continues to this day (since hua still hasn't cursed yet).

►　it's not really a secret that hua is rich. he's clothes, though they may be very plain and comfortable, are obviously of a high end namebrand and he's not afraid to slip members a few bills here and there in case they are hungry for snacks.

►　hua and fellow trainee jasper were oftened called the cat & dog of the sljk program due to their differing personalities. the two bicker like an old married couple and sometimes it gets to the point where their voices raise to not indoor voices.

►　some trainees and fans are quick to notice that hua chares the same birthday with NCT member and WAYV's leader kun. they are often compared and they even like to call hua 'the kun of the sljk program'.

►　hua has never felt such a strong attraction to anyone before jasper. that's why he is shown to be in gay panics, especially when it comes to jasper.

►　hua's eyes usually follow jasper even when jasper isn't near him (eagle eyed fans catch it all the time).

►　jasper's voice does things to hua's sanity and he doesn't like to talk about it in public. whenever asked whose his favorite voice in mlsm, he always picks jasper.
