[ PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION ] soonhyuk has always been outgoing and friendly, being able to make friends fast and easily. being able to talk to a stranger and get their whole life story within minutes. with that being said he doesn't know when to shut up. he talks and talks until someone tells him or makes him stop. he doesn't like awkward silence, or silence at all and talks to fill the air. to the point where each member slowly leaves the room until there is only one that has to talk to him. he even talks in his sleep. despite not being able to stop talking he knows how to work an interveiw in his or the groups favor.
soonhyuk may talk a lot, but he is terribily oblivious, especially when it comes to others emotions. he doesn't realize if he's making someone uncomfortable or annoyed, unless they tell him. despite being a social butterfly, he is pretty gaurded when it comes to his emotions and inner thoughts. despite being a warm and inviting person, with his walls up it seems like he is faking his friendliness. soonhyuk only ever had four friends growing up, he treasures them deeply and only they know how soonhyuk thinks or looks at situations. he is loyal to a fault, if anyone tries to hurt his friends consider them a dead man. to make one of the nicest people upset, is asking for a death wish.
soonhyuk is kind of everywhere at once, he can't sit and do one thing. his brain running a million miles per hour, makes others see him as erratic. despite the erratic nature, he's warm and kind to every person he meets. that could be the reason people tend to open up to him pretty easily. he's able to melt even the coldest people and make them feel loved and cared for. everything he does is with good intentions even if he doesn't know how the person feels about it.
[ BACKGROUND ]kwon soonhyuk was born into a family of four, his mother, father, an older sister by 4 years and an older brother by 3 years were more than happy for another baby. the three grew up like any normal kids, his brother loved dancing while he mainly sang and rapped along to whatever song his brother would be playing. their parents put the two of them in different sports to occupy their time and help them develop the two oldest were in taekwondo while soonhyuk learned soccer and played on various teams growing up.
soonhyuk moved to seoul with their aunt in 2010, to persue a more challenging soccer team. a year later his brother began training at pledis entertainment. soonhyuk found it hard to be apart from his family, so when he met the kids from canada accross the hall he began trying to be their friends. following them around, tagging along with them at school. jaeyong and haeyong became his extended family, even offering them to spend the holidays with him bask home, which they always declined. soonhyuk spent his free time either on the field or in coin kaoroke with jaeyong and haeyong. he would rap while jaeyong sang and haeyong danced along with them. the three were as close as school friends could be.
soonhyuk got into a performing arts school, his parents weren't too sure what he was planning on doing. he would play soccer on the traveling junior team and turn around rehearse for a vocal exam. after telling them he was considering going after the same dream as his brother, whom had just debuted, they accepted it. but, on hte condition he never compared him against his brother and worked hard for himself not them. as they just wanted him to be happy. at the end of soonhyuk's first year of high school he was scouted based off his height alone by an FNC representative. going to the audition, they ended up accepting him. soonhyuk alerted the traveling team that he won't be returning for the next season and began training.
after training a few months, he was part of the line up for SF9 before the start of the reality show to decide what group debuted, he was cut last minute due to his lack of dancing ability. he continued training in FNC until 2020, when he was heading to meet up with jaeyong he was scouted by a fantagio representative. with the promise of debuting soon, he took them up on the offer and turned to join jaeyong.

chan and soonhyuk became friends first through hoshi and secondly when they began attending the same school and were in the same class. chan was honestly freaked out by how much the two brothers are alike. the two became drinking buddies once they turned of age. they normally would sit together for hours just talking about life and how they are dealing with whatever was currently happening in their lifes.
tsoonhyuk met rocky through dino back in high school, the three being the same age and going through the same process. they became close. the three rely on each other when they are having a hard time, often ending up talking in a bar or restruant until close. due to the virus they don't meet up as much but, began face timing and taking a drink, while talking. after entering fantagio the two run into each other more often and hang out when they can. rocky may or may not have helped him during dance practices.
soonhyuk has joked that they could never be a trio, since the other two are good dancers and he isn't.

during a night of drinking with rocky and dino at the astro dorm, the others were all out doing their own thing, soonhyuk came out as queer and addressed his crush on eunwoo. his two best friends let him talk it all out, giving their advice. when eunwoo returned exhausted from the shoot he had, he greeted the three before heading to his room.
"tell him." rocky whispered to the tipsy soonhyuk whom played with strings in his ripped pants.

"i hate you guys. if this ends badly i will like my funeral to be nice and have everyone throw flowers as they drive me away." soonhyuk explained, the two waving him off as he stood taking a deep breath. adjusting his green sweater before heading to the door eunwoo just entered, and knocking lightly.
"minhyuk, i'm not going to buy you guys more." eunwoo groaned as he opened the door jumping back seeing soonhyuk infront of him.
"it's me, hyung. um. c-can i talk to you for a second?" soonhyuk stuttered which eunwoo has never seen, he nods slowly letting the other into the room.
"everything okay?" eunwoo asked concerned why the younger was coming to him inside of his friends.
"this is gonna be weird. maybe uncomfortabe but those s i call my best friends have convience a very tipsy soonhyuk to do this. " soonhyuk took another deep breath as eunwoo sat on his bed eyeing the younger. "i like you, and not just like a hyung or because your handsome. that definitely does play a part but, your loyal, smart, kind, warm-hearted and geniune which isn't something you find often. but you are also soft-hearted and easily tricked. but, thats also something i like about you. okay, i'm gonna stop talking now. cause i don't know what else i'll say if i continue talking. like how i'm pretty sure i like men and women and tht i had a crush for three years on haeyong which is just weird now-"
"soonhyuk." eunwoo snapping him out of his rambling, he smiled at the floor before looking at the younger. "look, i don't know what i feel, i didn't give myself the time to think it through. maybe i do like you, and your unwavering support for everyone you meet. or the fact that once you like someone you follow them around so it's weird when your not there. either way, i need some time too think about it. I'm no-soonhyuk?" eunwoo had realised soonhyuk was sitting on the floor against the door smiling dumbly at him.
"you said you might like me." he slurred, eunwoo sighed beofre standing up helping the younger up. which is when eunwoo realized they were at eye level with each other.

"go back to minhyuk and chan. i'll let you know my answer later when your sober."
"i'm pretty sober now." eunwoo rolled his eyes with a smile, pushing soonhyuk out of his room.
a few days later, eunwoo was running low on sleep having sent every possible moment thinking about his feelings for soonhyuk. sitting in rehearsal witht he others, he figured this would get his mind off the subject. he was wrong, in waltzed in soonhyuk carrying bags with rocky, smiling to the other guys as he handed them snacks and drinks. pausing as rocky handed eunwoo his drink, eunwoo keeping his eyes on soonhyuk. the younger biting his lip as he checked his phone wishing the group luck before heading out of the studio.
eunwoo stared at his phone waiting for any message from the younger, he unlocked the screen staring at soonhyuk's contact, practically glaring at it.

per jaeyong's reccomendation, the two kept it a secret from the mebers of astro and soonhyuk's friends as well, in the beginning. the two began dating and went on dates, when they could. they would hang out at the astro dorm with some of the members, them all assuming he's there to hang out with minhyuk, even though minhyuk knows the truth.
2020 when soonhyuk was scouted by fantagio he told dongmin instantly. dongmin was nervous he was changing his company for the wrong reasons. but soonhyuk wasn't switching for him but, for his own future. after joining the company saw each other more and more, soonhyuk almost always dragging eunwoo away somewhere where there were no cameras.

[ FANTAGIO EXPERIENCES ]soonhyuk adjusts easily, when he joined the company he got adjusted within the first few days. he liked all of the staff on hand, and his new team despite most of them being on edge by his addition. after being passed up for two groups he was nervous, they would decide last minute to drop him.
[ IF NEW MEMBER: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT JOINING A1? ] "it feels amazing, i get to make new friends and finally accomplish my dream. and the sooner everyone is comfortable the better. which i am making it my job to make everyone feeled cared for." he definitely hides how scared he is of debuting and failing from everyone. he is honestly terrified, he'll ruin the groups chances.
