[ APPEARANCE ] jaeyoung was never one to cut his hair, after getting scouted by fantagio he has kept it long most of the time except if he was filming a series. he's in the middle of growing it back out. when he turned 20, he went and got his first tattoo with his sister. located on the side of his right wrist, a small dragon outline, symbolising the 'yong' in both of their names. he wants to get more, especially with his friends. he has a pretty bad scar on his hip bone from when he was a kid, due to one of his fathers "fun nights".

[ FASHION ] old man jae is quite the fashionista among the fans, what they don't know is that his sister is the one to buy his clothes and style them for him. a king of layers, even in the summer he doesn't show much skin.

for practice he normally ends up wearing black or grey joggers or sweats, and whatever loose fitting tee he has clean. his hair put either in a low pony or hidden under a cap or beanie. he only wears a pair of atheletic shoes gifted to him by his former dance teacher. (he probably needs new ones by now)

in the dorm, he wears hoodies, almost all of the time. every color you can imagine, he has in a hoodie. some limited edition charater ones from his sister and his partner. and a pair of sweats, he wears headbands a lot to keep his hair out of his face.

[ PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION ] any of the members would say jaeyoung was hard to figure out, the original members would say he was too kind for this world. he knows how to keep walls up around himself and his inner thoughts and emotions. Letting people in has never been his strong suit, prefering to carry burdens on his own rather than trouble others. having taken responibilty for the original line up from day one, wanting them to only see the good remarks and never have the weight of the negative ones rest on their shoulders. Being able to sit back and watch them all interact with each other he was able to pick out the members that weren't feeling too great about the new additions. Trying to keep the energy positive in the team he would try to talk to each member about whats going on, wanting them to be at their best.

jaeyong has always been quiet, so when he does raise his voice, the others listen right away. perfering to listen to the others talk and crack jokes than talk and question what they think of him. he doubts himself over the smallest hiccup, from missing a step in practice to his voice cracking the slightest bit in a lesson. wondering why he chose this life path and if its really worth everything. despite his inner struggles, he makes sure the younger members are ready for school and that they are on track with training. he packs them snacks in their bags at night before he goes to sleep, making sure they each have their favorite one. and don't him starts on birthdays, as much as he hates his own he celebrates every single one of theirs in the biggest way he can, be it a party with friends or just a cake as soon as it hits midnight.

jaeyong is loyal to a fault, if you cross any of the original members or his sister consider yourself on his blacklist. which is somewhere you don't want to be for someone as nice as him. once hes loyal to you consider yourself lucky, it means you won his heart over. expressing his emotions is another thing not many people get to see, many see the smile on his face when s talk or when they make him laugh. but, actually voicing his emotions his a rarity. he'll avoid complaining or making a fuss, none of the members have even seen his cry or whine about something. not many of them know what he really likes unless they pay attention to what he buys and eats. while he has a whole note section on his phone dedicated to the like and dislikes of s.

 

[ BACKGROUND ]TW: mentions of abuse

 

jaeyoung was born into a complicated situation, his older sister by two years, haeyong was the daughter of  a doctor and a nurse, while jaeyoung was the son of the doctor and his mistress. his father took him in forcing haeyoung's mother to care for him as if he was her own. his parents spilting custody over him. after a car accident when jaeyoung was 4, his mother passed away after drunk driving. it became obvious fairly clear that their father loved his mother a great deal, as he was fired from his job after coming to work drunk. later on they found out he was an alcholic suffering from depression and bi-polar disorder. he was stuck at home drinking, while haeyong's mother worked insane hours to make money and raising a kid that wasn't even hers to begin with. jaeyong never had many friends, often coming to school with bruises and the occasional broken bone. teachers called multiple sides of the law only to have his father chalk it up to bullying. haeyong began taking dance lessons at age 9, her mother wanting to save her from her father. when should leave school she would wait for jaeyong and make him tag along with her. he would practice along with them in the hallway, while haeyong would look out the window smiling as she danced with her brother. 

 

at the ages of 12 and 10, haeyong's mother divorced their father and adopted jaeyong legally. the three soon left to south korea, planning to start over. haeyong continued dancing in an academy, still bringing jaeyong along so he didn't have to go home to an empty house. their mother remarried to another closet alcholic, and soon the abuse was unavoidable he didn't care who it was, unlike their father. the two would try to stay out of the house as much as possible only to have it worse when they came back home. which lead the two to befirend the kid accross the hall, kwon soonhyuk. jaeyong thought he was annoying while haeyong like him cause he followed them around like a puppy. 

at age 13, one of the dance teachers spotted jaeyong dancing along in the hallway watching through the windows of the classroom. she saw something in him and offered him to join her class for the day, he was reluctant as his sister came out of the room on their break and agreeing for him. after the class ended, she talked with him about taking more classes and trying for a dance focused school. he knew his mother wanted him to focus of math or science as haeyong was the one in dance classes. which is where hayong's big brain energy came to the rescue. after talking with the teacher they decided to just have jaeyong take classes in haeyong's place, to which the teachers were reluctant on. 

the day after his last year in middle school, on his way to the dance academy he was scouted by a representative of fantagio.after going home, his mother and stepfather over heard him telling haeyong. it back fired majorly, his parents lost it, trying to lock him in his room on the day if the audition. what they didn't expect was haeyong to come home during school and let him out to go to the audition. coming home later that day, his stuff was packed up. being kicked out with nowhere to go, he called the dance teacher whom quickly took him in.

park jaeni moonbin & ( fc: yoohyeon dreamcatcher) thats my bestfriend 20 (12.23.2000), 23 (01.26.1998)
jaeyoon and jaeni met when she played his love interest in mermaid prince, and hit it off right away. the shy boy and loud girl dynamic shocked a lot of the staff as the two clicked and quickly exchanged contact info. the two speak in english the majority of the time they hang out as she grew up in new zealand.

jaeyong and moonbin met when jaeyoung began training under fantagio, fairly briefly. After a few years jaeyoung starred alongside moonbin in a webdrama and the two began growing closer. jaeyoung didn't even dare to think the two of them would be friends like they are now. they often meet up to go workout or go on hikes and talk out whatever is going through their heads. normally when one of them is in a tough place.

after acting together, the three became pretty close. moonbin and jaeyong have been featured in a few of her youtube videos, and now tiktoks. jaeyoon gained lots of followers after that even thoughhe never posts anything unless jaeni or moonbin asks him to. jaeni often picks them up and films videos of them just hanging out or checking out new cafes. jaeyoon and moonbin help keep jani calm and quiet, they all balance each other out very well. jaeni has her own vlog series where the two are featured a bit, from being on set with them to going to cafes and on hikes with the two.

the two have always been close, but when their family moved to korea, haeyoung pulled away putting up a wall between the two of them. when two years ago, haeyoung came out to jaeyoung as lesbian, after lots of research and discussions jaeyoung told haeyoung its okay for her to be herself around him.  The two grew closer again, and she became the person he talked to about his ual confusion. the two are constantly messaging or call each other, as they are all they have. she currently works as a stylist, and posts videos on her youtube channel about korean fashion and trends.

 

 

kwon soonhyuk (fc: woodz cho seungyeon) ((current wip)) childhood friend 5/23/1999 22 

the two met when jaeyong moved into the apartment accross the hall. soonhyuk would follow him around at school and around the neighborhood. he use to tease haeyong, mostly due to his giant crush on her as middle schoolers. where jaeyong went, soonhyuk followed. even into high school, soonhyuk attended the same high school a year ahead of jaeyong.

"what if i never got in?"

the two remained close when they both got into different companies at the same time, jaeyong at fantagio while soonhyuk went to FNC. soonhyuk almost debuting in sf9 but was cut last minute due to his lack of dancing skills. years of training later, he was scouted by fantagio while walking to jaeyong's place. and soon joined the new line up shocking jaeyong when he started training with them.

  

the parks mrs.park(fc:kim sun ah), mr.park(fc: jang dong gun) and park dohwan(fc: lee jaewook) 44, 46 and 23 his second family

mrs.park was haeyong and his dance teacher, she took him in after he was kicked out and treated him like her own. mr.park is a very sweet, funny man whom would dot on jaeyong a lot, giving him anything he would need for school or practice, even giving him allowance. dohwan was more of a friend than a sibling, spending his off time in their shared room the high school senior at the time would help jaeyong study or practice. jaeyong thinks they are the closest thing to family haeyong and him have got.

[ PREDEBUT EXPERIENCES ]

the mermaid prince: the beginning (ep.1 - ep. 10)  as yoon gun

his first drama role, and being from fantagio he practised and rehearsed a lot. he's glad he had the oppurtunity to dip his toes in the water. he worked out and trained with moonbin to prep for this role, he still continues to workout.

he was happy playing this role, as he got to play guitar in his role. he put down his wall a bit more this time around based moonbin's advice. 

 

jaeyoon was in a dance academy for a few years in primary school, into high school. he posted a few covers and originals as a trainee, on his personal channel. after getting kicked out of the house, and moving in with the parks, Jaeyong continued his training journey. 

[ TRAINEE YEARS ] jaeyong found most days meloncoly, but the bad ones brought him down. he would stop eating to focus on practice more, lose hours of sleep just to perfect a single move. he had been scolded over his dramatic weight loss and falling asleep when he was at school. he felt alone most days, in his own bubble with no one really to talk to. he slipped in and out of depression episodes. he had a hard time adapting to the new people he spent almost everyday in the studios with, and learning new things. he worked hard to prove himself over the last few years, with the constant support of mrs.park. she helped him through a lot of his hard days and situations where he thought about giving up.

[ FIRST MEETING ] jaeyong was taken in by his dance teacher, Mrs. Park, her husband welcomed him with open arms as did her son dohwan. they first met when, dohwan went to the academy to drop off some materials his mom left at home, a mere few days before jaeyong was kicked out. he waited in the hall for the class to go on break, once they did dohwan turned to enter the classroom but paused as he saw jaeyong laying on the floor of the studio. his hair drenched in sweat and his eyes closed, dohwan smiled to himself at the younger laid still. 

"Ah, thank you." his mom said, standing before him, jaeyong sitting up and looking at dohwan through the mirror. 

"yeah of course, dad wants to know what you want for dinner?" dohwan asked, swallowing as jaeyong watched them.

[ DEVELOPMENT / LOVE STORY ] when jaeyong moved in with them he began sharing a room with dohwan, he would sleep on the floor and not talk much at all. mrs.park explained he hasn't even talked to her much over the last few years, and that shes only ever seen him  talk a lot with his sister. dohwan went into his senior year at the science school near their apartment while jaeyong got into an arts academy. dohwan sat in class waiting for the rest of the class, greeting some of his friends that ended up in his class. a girl caught his attention as she sat beside him, his friends whispering and coo-ing at the two. dohwan told them to shut up, before looking over and seeing her phone flipped over on the desk a polariod of her and jaeyong on the back. 

"Are you jaeyong's sister?" he asked, haeyong looked at him confused and like she was on the verge of tears. 

they spent breaks talking about jaeyong, the more dohwan seemed to learn about him the more he began to feel butterflies in his stomach. 

haeyong never went to visit jaeyong, even after he started to train. with not many to lean on, dohwan kept trying to get him to open up, the two spending a lot of time together. durign the first year living together, jaeyong took his walls down a bit. opening not only his mind but heart to dohwan. 

on dohwan's graduation day, his parents brought jaeyong with them to celebrate, after eating a meal together they returned home. jaeyong turned in early because of his training in the morning. a few hours later dohwan entered their room, laying on his bed he rolled over watching jaeyong's back.

"sorry i don't have enough confidence to tell you to your face. i like you, and now how a friend should. since i'm going to univeristy in a few weeks, you won't see me much, so dn't feel burdened at all." dohwan whispered, jaeyong sat up scaring dohwan whom sputtered. quickly tryign to get up, jaeyong standing infront of the door. dohwan sitting back on the bed, avoiding eye contact.

"i like you too." jaeyong said, dohwan stared at him in shock.

"w-w-what?" dohwan stuttered as jaeyong locked the door and sat infront of dohwan on the bed.

"let's date." jaeyong said, dohwan smiled and chuckled looking at his comforter between them.

"you're a minor."

"so are you, until september."

"i'm still 20, here."

"unfair."

"sorry, i was too much of a coward to tell you before." dohwan said, reaching a hand out to pat jaeyong's head, when the younger flinched away dohwan felt like crying. he held jaeyong's hand and pulled him into a hug. the two falling asleep hugging each other on dohwan's bed.

when jaeyong moved into the dorms, after help from mrs.park. dohwan cried the whole night before he left, no matter how strong of a person dohwan was he knew it was okay to cry. jaeyong silently cried hugging the older as they slept. the two kept in contact and would occasionally meet to hang out with haeyong or the two would hang out at dohwan's apartment.

when 2019 rolled around, jaeyong graduated high school, haeyong came along with dohwan's parents who've supported him through school and training. jaeyong wouldn't say it out loud but he was sad dohwan wasn't there. jaeyong was training the next day, taking a break with a few of the members, they decided to run to the convience store down the street. entering jaeyong was sending a messgae to dohwan that he forgot to respond to during practice. 

hearing hyeon, talking actively with another customer, the others assumed he made a new friend. but to jaeyong's suprise it was dohwan buying snacks he didn't really like. hyeon pointed out that they were the ones jaeyong normally grabbed during breaks. dohwan swallowed and nodded at the smaller before looking at jaeyong with a smile. which jaeyong smiled in return. dohwan mentioned he would be going to his military service, jaeyong made him promise to at least go on a date before he left. 

and so they did, which led them to a love motel. jaeyong laying on dohwan's chest as they caught up on things to big to text or too small to remember. jaeyong dove into his childhood trauma, giving dohwan many answers to the questions runnign through his head. with a kiss on the top of his head the two went their seperate ways. 

18 months later, dohwan returned in september of 2020. dohwan's parents invited jaeyong back home to eat with them to welcome him back. when jaeyong got there mrs.park and mr. park seemed on edge, dohwan sat kneeling before them with his head down. jaeyong gulped reading the room as a close to hostile energy, he wanted to run. when mrs.park looked at him she gave him a smile smile before saying she'll get dinner ready. mr.park following after her, jaeyong went to put his bag down as he was going to stay the night.

"I don;t want to hear anything." was what jaeyong heard as dohwan closed the door behind him. dohwan steppign to him and hugging him tightly releasing a sigh.

"i came out to them, and told them i wanted to be with you." jaeyong swallowed again, hugging dohwan back. "that's if you-"

"yes." jaeyong cut him off squeezing him tighter.

 

jaeyong tapped him foot as he ran a hand through his hair, waiting on his sister to finish her class so they could go to dinner. when she appeared, she looked her brother up and down before scoffing.

"you are totally dating dohwan, aren't you?" she asked in disbelief, jaeyong turning and walking away from her, making her chase him down. "if he hurts you, i'll hurt him twice as much."

[ FUTURE DEVELOPMENT ]after coming out to dohwan's family whom take around a month to come around and accept them with open arms. haeyong is they're biggest supporter, even being the one to tag along on their dates, to help them avoid the public's eyes. the boys a1, only think they are clse friends.they eventually start telling more of their friends, and people they are close to. after a1 is able to move out of the dorms, jaeyong moves in with dohwan and they adopt more cats. (cute cat dads)

[ INTERACTIONS & OTHER ] dohwan knows how touchy jaeyong is and honestly loves it. whenever the two are together they are hugging, cuddling, holding hands or even just the sides of their legs are touching when in public group settings. dohwan is like a puppy to jaeyong, he'll follow him around and demand attention. to the point of haeyong changing dohwan's contact name in jaeyong's phone from

천사  (cheonsa/angel) to  아강사(ah.gang.sa = apeun gang-aji sarang / love sick puppy).

dohwan calls him at least once a day just to ramble with jaeyong does something, like clean or eat. dohwan knows jaeyong is not as expressive and not as forward as dohwan is, his paitence with the younger has grown over the last few years. a comprise is jaeyong just sending photos he takes through out the day when he thinks of dohwan. 

dohwan's best friends support them wholeheartedly, especially after haeyong came out to their friends as well. he often invites jaeyong to come hang out with them, but he usually declines saying he should spend time with his friends without him. 

all dohwan wants to do is show off his actor boyfriend and shower him with the love he deserves.

another instance of where jaeyong is mistakenly accused of dating one of his friends, this time dohwan was actually with them, along with haeyong. it was a girl haeyong was friends with and was wanting to meet jaeyong in person. dohwan had an arm drapped over his shoulders in a few photos, which caused jaeyong to get scared that he was outed. but, the photo of him hugging the girl goodbye before dohwan and him headed back to the older males place.

haeyong whom is out on her youtube channel talked jaeyong into going to pride with her, dressing him up and painting a rainbow on his face. his hardcore fans figured he was going to show support for his sister when in the vlog they met up with the girl from before and dohwan, whom her watchers thought were dating. everyone surprised when dohwan showed up in a black mesh shirt with a rainbow on it, and the girl holding hands with haeyong in some shots. witnesses said they saw jaeyong kissing someone at the event. the company denied the claim, stating he was there as an ally and to support his sister.

when he does meet the new members he just watches and listens to them, tryign to figure out how they would fit in their already good dynamic.

bloodstone puts him on edge, that at any moment his group would decide he was the worse of the two main dancers. which pushes him to try harder.
