BACKGROUND — hanako has lived in tokyo her whole life. father passed away before she was born. afterward, her mother did date, but things were'nt the same. her mother longed for freedm and felt weighed down by the child. she left the country, leaving hanako with her boyfriend. he would raise hanako from childhood. haruo, original last name tetsuya, was adopted by the stepfather, as he really loved kids and wanted more. he never did marry because his children are his life. + hanako, being the woman of the house, cooked often. katsumi often praised her, and always pushed her to do what she loved. therefore, she decided to major in culinary arts, in hopes to open her own restaurant.
