MATSUDA KAZUE: 2nd year

 

NAKAHARA KENJI: 3rd year

Almost everyone in his grade would know him. After all, how could they not when he smiles all the time and talks to just anyone? Kenji never fails to make a person feel like they fit in. He shows major concern in the lives of others and wants them to feel better or help them. Most of his classmates admire his honesty, for he would not lie to anyone and was not afraid to tell someone who has an opposing story his views, in a nice way of course.

 

However, he is also known for his impulsive nature. Due to the fact that he does not want others to be hurt, he would easily say 'Yes" to everything without thinking about the consequences. For example, because of this, Kenji now has to tackle at least 3 club meetings, two soccer tournament, and a chemistry project within a week. (i'm sorry i'm exaggerating this). He sometimes overworks himself because of this. Kenji also finds it difficult to sit still or wait for something to end, especially if it's boring.

 

To bundle it all up, although there are times when people might shake their heads as he runs all over the place to attend to things or even him disrupting the class because he was too bored, his interaction with others are what makes him whole and balances it.

 

 

It was at the age of 5 that Kazue and Kenji became friends for the first time. Kazue was in her parent's patisserie since she had nowhere else to go. The playground was in construction during that time. Kenji and his mother happened to be one of the many customers in the shop. His mother was taking quite a long time, chatting with her parents so Kenji decided to approach her. At first, Kazue was very confused as to why a stranger approached her but overtime they realized they had alot of the same interests and got along quite well. Surprisingly, on the first day of a new school year, she met him. They began to spend more time with each other and eventually became best friends. On her 12th birthday, Kenji gave a charm bracelet which had charms of different confectionary on it.

 

When they were in separate schools, Kenji would normally talk/text message her through the phone everyday. They would meet up from time to time but it was rare since Kenji had so many things to tackle down. Ever since the merge of both schools, they would hang out quite often and Kenji would normally talk about alot of different things while Kazue listened. They are seen doing homework together and sometimes, Kenji would wait for her after school to walk her to the dorm. So there were alot of conspiracies that they were dating.

 

These rumours grew even worse when Kenji started dating Fukuda Ai. When Ai realized that he went to the same school as her now, she finally confessed to him, and asked if he wanted to go out with her. Being a person who can't say no, he said yes. There were words saying that Kenj was two-timing and alot of people bombarded Kazue with questions asking if this was true or not in which Kazue said that Kenji was dating Ai and not her. Speaking of Kazue, Ai disliked Kazue from the day she moved into Yume so after finding out that Kazue and Kenji were best friends, she became even meaner and cold to her than before.

 

Kazue soon began to realize her developing feelings for Kenji and her performance in school began to drop little by little. Kenji, noticing this would normally ask her what's wrong or try to cheer her up. Kenji then began to see that she has been bottleling up her feelings like her sadness inside her that she can't express due to circumstances. He than began to doubt himself, wondering if he has been staying true to himself like he always have.
