One Meal A Day

**WARNING**

I wish that people wouldn't judge me or my efforts to lose weight. I don't hate my body, I just want to lose a bit of weight and since I've tried all the traditional, "proper" ways only to be disappointed I decided to follow a method that is a bit more extreme. Yes, I did my research on this diet and it doesn't seem like there are many hazards so please, chill.

Okay, so... Here it goes. I want to be thin. That's kind of a sensitive topic, isn't it? Ever since I was a child I had this ideal image of perfection that I was desperately chasing but back then, I used way more extreme and dangerous methods. Now, I finally realize that no matter how hard I try if my body isn't build to have a thigh gap then I'll never get one and I'm perfectly fine with it.

But a flat stomach, a pair of slender legs, distinctive collar bones, I still want those things.

After years, literally years (I can't stress this enough, this idea has been tormenting me for so long) of exercising and healthy meals I still haven't gotten the results I've always desired. Now, don't get me wrong! I wasn't a saint or anything, I've had quite a few pizzas delivered to my house way past midnight as well. I've had my ups and downs but the ups were never fruitful enough when my downs were pretty devastating, getting me back to zero.

And that is why just a few days ago I made my decision. Time to get aggressive! I'm the type of person that wants results as quickly as possibly, 'patience' is definitely the exact opposite of my character. So I looked up different diets (mostly kpop idol's) and among the many fruit-based, calorie counting ones, I finally found that sparked my interest.

Yep, I decided to try the 'one meal a day' diet. At first, I was skeptical and I'm pretty sure you can understand why. Only one meal? Isn't that bad for your metabolism and your body in general? So I researched some more (all hail the internet) and every single person I found kept saying that felt healthy and not at all deprived or weak.

Hell, I found this one dude who stuck to this diet for three whole weeks and he was still healthy and strong. Plus, he managed to lose 5kg during that period (when I was following my old, traditional diet I'd lose 3kg in the same amount of time) and he didn't even exercise. I don't know about you but that sold me.

I do realize that everyone's body reacts differently to diets and stuff but hey, I can at least try, right?

So here we are.

Monday

Weight:

I didn't weigh myself when I woke up because I'm an idiot that forgets stuff 24/7. I'm really not good at keeping track of calories or measurements so this blog will help me with that as well, yay!

Meal:

I had two chicken souvlakis which is basically grilled chicken pieces on a stick (yay for food on sticks!) with a rather HUGE serving of rice (come on, who doesn't love rice). I didn't have any salad because I was too bored to make one, I'm lazier than a ing sloth, I swear. No dessert either because I was pretending to be all healthy, suddenly thinking that if I cut desserts as well I'll get faster results (haha, look at your username, Chris).

Friendly advice: NEVER cut desserts or chocolate goodies, especially if you LOVE them. Your life will get hard, I promise.

Mood:

The meal I just described was lunch and I didn't have any sort of snacks before or after that. So here's the thing; after I was done eating I wasn't completely full (all for the sake of faster results). A few hours later I started to feel a little hungry. And by midnight I was STARVING. Seriously, all I thought about was food. Anywhere I looked, food. Anything I watched or did to distract myself, BOOM food again.

I'm not gonna lie, first night was pretty miserable. Plus, my mom had just baked a chocolate cake and my dad had made crepes, it was like the universe didn't want me to get on this diet. But I flipped the universe off and managed to stay away from the kitchen, something I'm really proud of.

Tuesday:

Weight:

65kg

I weighed myself first thing in the morning, I hadn't even drunk water so it's safe to assume I'm around 65.5kg in the middle of the day. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not that happy with my current weight. It's not too much but for my height (1.67cm), it's definitely above average.

But hey, I remembered to weigh myself, that's something!

Meal:

Pasta with tuna and basil (seriously delicious, look it up online if you haven't eaten this already). Okay, confession time, I had a refill (the hunger was REAL). I had like, three bites from my salad because I made it too salty and trust me, three bites from that mess from hell was more than enough. And finally, for dessert I had a slice of chocolate cake. Once again, no snacks before or after, just tons of water and green tea.

Mood:

As soon as I opened my eyes all I could think of was all the delicious meals I had been dreaming the previous night. So when it was finally lunch time, I ate like a pig (#partytime). Do I regret it? I wish I could say "HELL NAH" but that'd be a lie. I have to admit it, I took the term "eat like a king" a tad too literally. I bet even the three-weeks guy didn't eat this much the next day. But it took me wayyy longer to feel hungry again so I guess it wasn't all that bad!

Friendly advice: If your stomach starts hurting from all the crap you filled it with, it's probably a sign to put down that fork.

And here we are. It's midnight here and yes, my stomach is growling but it's not as bad as it was last night. I mean, I'm not dreaming of noodles and steaks yet and I hope it stays that way (who are you trying to fool Chris, you know the struggle begins after 2am).

That is my progress so far! It's not much but if anyone does read this I'd love to hear opinions or other diet experiences~

I commend you for trying this diet. When I tried this, I only made it two days but during those days I made the mistake of only eating salads.

I was at my leanest (abs, slight quad separation, etc) and my recovery time after working out was the fastest after eating one meal day. I would eat 3 meals + 2 snacks worth of food during this one "meal". It worked very well for me, but certainly not something I would want to do for a long period of time. Look up 'intermittent fasting'. You might find it interests you :D Good luck!
