personality » Through the eyes of the public, JangMi may seem perfect, always polite when first greeting people, flawless performances, and a sweetheart when it comes to her fans, friends, and family, although we all know there is no such thing as a perfect human being. JangMi's biggest flaw is hands down her envy. She's constantly jealous of what others have, the talents of other celebrities, a model's beauty, the personality of a hero- then she takes that envy and turns it  against herself. She only see's what she lacks and never sees what good qualities she has. She was officially diagnosed with an inferiority complex by the age of 16. She constantly tries to perfect where she thinks she lacks by making sure she acts appropriately depending on tv shows or radio broadcast. She's never satisfied with her accomplishments, she always thinks she could do so much better than she has. She's a people pleaser, she has this insatiable urge to make sure everyone is happy, even if it means it only ends up hurting her in the end.

JangMi also tends to be a huge kiss-up when it comes to her sunbaes, she what's them to favor her so that they will take her under their wing and teach her all that they know. JangMi also has a bad habit of being distastefully blunt, she doesn't often realize that her words are harmful, but on the bright side, at least you know she'll never lie to you. JangMi does have her good qualities though, she has this loyalty to her friends and family that will make her do anything to make sure they are safe and happy. She's always looking out for the other members, she wants to make sure that they are at their best even when she isn't.  She often believes that if you want to survive in the world, you have to please the right people, even if it means sacrificing your happiness.

 

trivias » She has a horrible habit of spacing out whenever she's bored, tired, or is in need of some peace and quiet.

She won't eat until she is sure everyone has eaten or has food in their hands. Same goes for sleeping. When she's having a rough day or is extremely sad, she'll unconscionably  rub her tattoo.

She loves junk foods like ramen and sweets. Hates anything horror or gory but loves the American show American Horror Story. Refuses to eat peas, pineapple or coconut.

Can drive a moped/motor cycle since it was the most convenient way to drive in Italy. Favorite color is purple.  Always wanted a dog of her own.

background » JangMi was born and raised in Milan, Italy. With both of her parents being Korean, it was only natural that she grew up keeping her Korean heritage. She wasn't obsessed with always being perfect at the time, she was young, she was carefree, and she was free to make as many mistakes as a little kid could. When JangMi was 8 years old, she was blessed with a little brother named Im JongHo. She adored her baby brother, she fawned over him, looked after him, even mothered him when their mom wasn't looking. However, fate was cruel and at the age of 6, Jongho began falling ill, he grew weak, he barely ate and barely slept. When they finally got around to getting Jongho to a doctor, it was revealed he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Devastated, JangMi's family put Jongho through chemo, and a year later, the doctors claimed that the cancer had gone into remission. Slowly Jongho began to look better and better. That was until at the tender age of 8, Jongho didn't wake one day for breakfast and when Jangmi went to wake him up, she realized he was no longer breathing. The doctors tried to save him, but it was too late. When asked, it was revealed that the doctor who had announced that Jongho's cancer had gone into remission was wrong, and instead had grown at a rapid rate that slowly killed the little boy. Devastated over the loss of their son, Jangmi's family packed up and returned to Korea, where her cousin, Yu Na of FNC Entertainment's AOA offered to look after JangMi while her parents settled in. Yu Na taught JangMi how to play the keyboard and sing while the other members taught her how to rap. It was from then on that JangMi declared that she would be the perfect human being, not someone foolish like the doctor who killed her brother. She didn't want her parents to see another child fade away, so she was sure to be perfect, to make them happy.

family » Jang Mi's mother is Kim Soohyun, a college professor who teaches Italian as well as Korean literature. Im Won in her father, a well-off merchant, he runs his own ramen shop. Im Jongho was Jangmi's little brother, he had passed away at the age of 8.

 Yu Na is Jangmi's cousin, she's a member of AOA and took JagMi under her wing when times were tough.

friends/rivals » JangMi is awfully close with all the AOA members, but she also has a close connection to f(x)'s Amber, and MBLAQ'a Lee Joon. But she's also made a few actor friends, like Park Shin Hye and Yoo In Na.

TRAINEE LIFE » JangMi's cousin definitely had a huge role in her acceptance into the company, but she did submit a video clip of her playing a piano cover and then rapping. She trained for about 4 years. She was never really bullied by the other idols, if anything, she was her own worst enemy. JangMi would constantly criticize herself, she would never accept that her work was good enough and kept pushing herself until she felt confident, something that's incredibly rare for her.

personality » Taemin is very soft spoken person, he's laid back, and and often goofy. He's extremely hard working, when no one thought he would amount to anything because he was tone deaf when he originally debuted, but he worked harder than anyone to get to where he is now. Much like JangMi, he has a strong sense of loyalty towards his friends and loved ones.  Taemin is also very mischievous, he likes to torment his sunbaes and hoobaes by pranking them and giving them a hard time, but despite the hard time he gives them, he'd do anything for his friends. 

love story » It was one of those rare days off that JangMi and Amber had a chance to meet. They had decided to relax by going out on the town and doing some window shopping. As they walked around, they came across a Music store, where they had grand pianos stored in the back, out of habit, JangMi began to play one of her favorite classical pieces. When she finished, she heard everyone applauding, one of them was Amber, another Taemin. Amber had invited Taemin to tag along for lunch but he had ran late (as he usually does) and had just met up with them. At first it was strictly business, they discussed music, dance, and training. The only thing that bothered JangMi was that Taemin could be so carefree, he didn't try to be perfect, he didn't try to make people love him. Naturally, she began to envy him. She wanted to be like him, she wanted her talent to be as effortless as his dancing. Instead of growing to love him, she began to idolize him. When Taemin discovered his own feelings for her, he was almost hurt that Jangmi couldn't love herself. It became his mission to help Jangmi see the beauty in her faults, and through his training, Jangmi began to love him instead of idolize him.
