⟪ PERSONALITY ⟫ 

One of JiEun's many qualities is that she as perfected the art of lying, at first her conscience had gotten the best of her and gave her nervous ticks, but she soon realized that if she wanted to make it by in life, she was going to have to improve. JiEun is also annoyingly passive, she just takes the insults given to her and forgives them, she likes to believe that people will change their mind and if you just let them get it all out of their system they will eventually just come around. You could also argue that this passive mind set could be a good thing, that she likes to remain optimistic of the world and wants to believe in second chances. JiEun also tends to be very indecisive, she likes to go with the flow of things and lets other people make choices for her. But JiEun has this over protective side that she likes to show her fellow members and friends, she would gladly take the full impact of pain for them, which in many ways sounds sadistic. But JiEun also has this cute side to her, she likes to smile for everyone and relieve any tense atmosphere. She prefers to grumble and moan about the little things, it distracts her from the larger problems that she faces at home. Ji Eun also hates crying, she views it as a sign of weakness and she has a theory that if she starts crying, she won't be able to stop after all the pain in her life.

⟪ BACKGROUND ⟫

JiEun was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1995 to her Korean mother and Japanese father. At the age of 2, her small family of 3 relocated to Seoul, South Korea where things in life started getting sour. The first couple of years were great, both parents had a stable job, JiEun would be babysat by her grandparents after school when mom and dad were working, and JiEun was growing up to be bilingual. But at the age of seven, JiEun's father started getting sick. He pushed it off as a cold but when a month later he still wasn't any better, he finally visited the doctors where he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Try as hard as they may, the small family just couldn't afford to pay off the hospital bills, which grew more and more expensive as the treatments continued. At the age of 10, JiEun lost her father to cancer. Because of funding, they couldn't afford to send JiEun's father's ashes back to Japan where he could be at piece. Being a widowed mother, JiEun's mom slowly started going crazy, seeking the comfort of alcohol and drugs rather than her daughter and extended family.

By the time JiEun was 12, her mother was a complete junkie. JiEun, finally gathering her courage, tried to help her mom quit her habit, but in return was hit-hard. It was at that moment that JiEun's mom found a new source of relief from her pain-beating her daughter. JiEun still had high hopes that one day her mom would realize her mistakes and change, hence why JiEun hasn't said anything to anyone. She acts clumsy in the publics' eyes, to play off the black and purple bruises that litter her body. The only solace JiEun found was in her dancing, she express all the anger and pain she felt could be expressed and released. JiEun hoped that with her new employment in Mystery, her mom would change, but instead, JiEun's mother threatens JiEun to buy her drugs or else she'll kill her. It is a lose lose situation for JiEun.

Habits: The moment JiEun starts liking a certain k-drama she'll binge watch the entire series if you let her, JiEun refuses to eat her food unless she is sure the other members have eaten or have food on their plates, She likes to cuddle in her sleep (Sometimes members will wake up to see JiEun randomly sleeping in their bed)

Extra Trivia: She has a huge crush on the Japanese Actor Furukawa Yuki. She has an obsession with cute things penguins. She wants to start her own beauty channel on youtube. She is double jointed, which makes her as flexible as f(x)'s Victoria. She's perfected the act of being clumsy, no one can tell when she falls on purpose or when she falls by accidents. She loves to make piano covers of kpop songs.

When was the first time she was abused?: When she was 12 years old

Did she tell anyone?: Nope, JiEun wants to believe that her mother will pull through in the end and doesn't want other people involved in her personal affairs.

How often does she get abused?: Usually once a week at a minimum. Her mom threatened to come looking for JiEun if she didn't bring her the drugs she wanted, so JiEun will often make trips back home to avoid making a scene.

⟪ RELATIONSHIP ⟫

Ji Eun is drawn to Taemin's relaxed personality, while Taemin is drawn to her doll-like looks and innocent image. Taemin loves to act like the responsible oppa and wants JiEun to put her faith in him. Taemin also loves to play pranks on JiEun because he knows he can get away with it, which does annoy JiEun to some extent but she knows he does it out of affection. The two love to experiment and try new things, especially extreme sports like bungee jumping and roller coasters. 

⟪ HISTORY ⟫

The two were originally strangers, they had nothing to do with each other and shared nothing in common. It was only when JiEun went back to the practice room to escape her psycho mother and to practice her dance routine did she walk in on Taemin doing some after-practice rehearsal. With Taemin being so originally shy, he decided to say nothing more than hello and that he was using the room so she had to leave. JiEun begged him to share the room because all the other practice rooms were being used. Reluctantly he agreed. When JiEun began to make more mistake in her dancing than usual because of the new bruises, Taemin decided that as her Sunbae, he should help her out and correct her dancing. From there, the two kept bumping into each other during secret rehearsals, and by nature they just grew to like each other.

When Taemin found out that JiEun was being abused by her mother, he nearly destroyed everything in his path. he was furious that JiEun never told him, he was furious he couldn't the pieces together-why she had all the bruises, why she never talked about her family, and he was beyond furious with her mother. When he confronted her about it, instead of giving excuses and explaining her reasoning, JiEun just broke down crying, crying and screaming about all the pain in her life.
