“1999-2006” • gong ahra was born in toyokawa, japan on december 19, 1999. she is the younger sister of gong jaehee, who is a musical theatre actress. her older brother, gong minseok, a freelance model. her father, gong kyuseop, is a civilengineer as well as manager of a contracting company. her mother, asako endou, is a housewife and used to teach ballet. the gong family is somewhat in between with middle and high class. ahra stayed with her family in japan for 8 years. she studied there in a private school which their family can afford. their family is a quiet one, not that type of household were everyone is loud. she's close with her mother and sister but distant when it comes to her brother and father. her father is too busy too notice or be close with ahra whilst her brother, he thinks ahra is a she-devil woman that's why he avoids her. ahra's interest for music started when she was 4. her sister took her to a Fin.K.L concert. she admired the group especially lee hyori. from that day, she knew she wants to become an idol. her passion for music grew more when her older sister became a musical theatre actress.
“2007-present” • on march 18, 2007; her father informed ahra and the rest of the family members that they're going to move to seoul, south korea due to her father's work. apparently, the contracting company he's working at moved his father to seoul to work there. so the father decided to take his family with him too. they rented an apartment in seoul, near ahra's new school. she was always the top student in her class and not only she excels in academics, she also excels in their music class. her mother, sister and sometimes her brother is proud of her achievements but his father never was. not even once that makes ahra work harder to gain his father's attention. on 2012, her friend in music class told her about yg holding an audition. she asked for her mom's permission and her mother delightly allowed her whilst her father allowed her too but it's like "whatever, i don't care what you want to do with your life". ahra and her friend who invited her to join went to yg and auditioned. ahra showed off her strong dancing skills and vocals and apparently, she got in but not her friend though.

TRAINING. ahra started as a trainee on yg on 2012, when she was 13 years old. she trained for 2 years that helped her improve her talent. when she actually entered yg, her vocal is probably 5/10 whilst her dancing is 7/10. she sometimes get scolded because of her attitude. YG doesn't really tolerate trainees who's overly confident of their own talent since everyone is not perfect and everyone needs improvement. YG once suggested that ahra should try rapping instead of singing because of her husky voice.But it was no avail, she even more in rapping. They trie improving her vocals though and with her 2 years of training, her vocals became 8/10. Although, she's not really the best singer out there. YG doesn't have any problems with ahra's dancing but like everyone else, it needs to be improved.

When pressure was getting into her, she started to fail her classes in school and every training, she always makes a mistake or sometimes she just zone out. YG talked to her and if this keeps up, they have no choice but to drop her or kick her out. this made ahra wake up and tried to climb from the top again. A lot of people are underestimating her skills since she's young but she works even harder to prove them wrong.
